I was hoping someone could tell me why my Card Whiz restarts whenever I hit a replay at 67,000 points. It's frustrating to say the least!

Thanks!

Restarts, as in starts a new game? (score reels zero back out, etc.)

Player 1 or Player 2, or both?

#3 9 years ago

Yes, game restarts, score reels clear, etc. I think both 1 and 2 players. Certainly, they both reset if one of the scores reaches the replay.

If you unplug the replay score level plugs in the backbox, does the problem go away?

That's a weird one. Almost sounds like the knocker is tied to the start relay.

The EM version of a WPC reset!
That's an odd one.

How about a shorted knocker coil? Or shorted add replay...

After looking at a schematic, it look like if:

1. Your zero position replay unit switch is closed (as in, you put it on free play by doing this)
AND
2. Your V relay has a closed switch (the NO switch with an Orange/White and Black wire) is closed/shorted/whatever

THEN
You will pull in the start relay when you hit a replay.

Have a look. Open up the zero position replay switch with a piece of paper or something. Check out your V relay. Write back. Thanks.

That would also require the replay button to be pressed as well since it's in series with the zero pos replay switch.
