Hello

Working on a Bally Gator 69

I noticed an Extra Mystery Wire (see pics) that was run out to the MB #5

So I traced the Wire up to the playfield and sure enough it goes to the MB#4 Mushroom Bumper PF Switch

So when you operate either MB 4 or 5 but Shares The MB#5 Relay (normal operation from 5 sw and hack from 4 sw)

I cut the extra wire that was run out from the MB4 playfield switch to MB5 relay to make game back to factory specs and the MB4 Playfield Sw does not make the MB4 Relay Fire as it should

So I’m assuming it broke years ago and this was a quick fix ...

However after looking

I can manually engage the MB4 relay and scores etc but the playfield Sw does not operate its relay

How do I test one of these 3 lug small size coils ?

All switches are clean and properly adjusted - the extra wire had most likely Been here for 20yrs or better but I want the game to work correctly

Thank you

I did the jumper to the following relay to test to coil etc

With the jumper the 4 and 5 MB fire

So the MB4 coil seems to work BUT when I remove the jumper it doesn’t work

I will lift out the mech panel today and look at what might be wrong

Will follow up later on

If any ideas please just let me know

Thanks

Hi Mark

Digging in there now to see what is what

Doesn’t seem to difficult to figure out using the working Mushroom Relays on how it should function

Will follow up

Yes that Brown small jumper appears to be out of place as one end was not attached to anything but compared to all other relays def seems out of place . .

After looking the brown wire serves no purpose I snipped it out and I’m still in the same spot I have been at

Still moving forward
