What do you do when removing the nails from an em’s side rails and the nail head breaks off? The shaft of the nail doesn’t extend out from the cabinet so there is nothing to grab on to pull it out.

I tried punching it through but messed uptown the inside of the cabinet, plus the wooden guides that the playfield sits in were in the way.

So I’ve figured out how to remove the beheaded nail using a plug cutter. Clamped a drill guide centered over the nail. Can’t use a plug cutter without some kind of drill guide or it will dance all over the wood. Drill/cut around the nail enough to could get a needle nose plier something to latch onto and work the nail out. Now I just need plug the hole with a 3/8” plug or fill it with wood filler. Hopefully this will help some of you that find themselves in the same situation.

    Quoted from KenLayton:

If you don't have a plug cutter, I use a small pointed tip Dremel grinding bit to grind away the wood around the broken nail. I grind it just deep enough so I can get some needle nose pliers/vise grips on the broken portion to pull it out.

Thanks. I didn't think of using my Dremel!
