Picked up my first EM a few months ago.
Gottlieb Sing Along!

Hadn't been plugged in for at least 20 years. Non working, filthy, and had hundreds of dead Ladybugs in it. (At least it wasn't rodents!)

I ended up going through everything. All of the switches and mechs. Completely rebuilt the flippers. Replaced the fried 115v hold coil and lots, lots more. Cleaned up pretty nice too.

Unfortunately the lower cabinet paint and backglass were shot from being stored in a barn all those years. Thankfully Ron Webb had a repro backglass in stock! I think I see a cabinet repaint in my future.

It's been alot of fun to play, but can definitely be unforgiving with those lil' flippers and wide outlanes. Either way, it was a good and sometimes challenging experience working on my 1st EM. I'm ready though, bring on the next one!

Quoted from goldenboy232:

Very nice! Looks good!!
I am picking up a Melody a week from tomorrow and also will be doing a full cab repaint!

Thanks guys!

That's pretty cool. I just looked up Melody. I'd heard it was the add-a-ball version, didn't know they were almost identical.

Quoted from schwism:

Congratulations! Glad to see another Sing Along brought back to life. I’ve had mine nearly a year and while I’ve battled mechanical issues it’s a keeper for me. Outlanes deal me fits but the center post more than makes up for the 2” flippers.
Good luck when you decide to repaint. My cab is not as bad but I may repaint someday.

I almost passed because of the shape it was in and my lack of EM knowledge. Glad I didn't now. My youngest plays it a lot too. It's been fun watching him nudge the ball and hit the lit rollovers pretty consistently.
And yeah, I'll agree. The post does help alot. It'd be pretty difficult without it.
