Not as rare as Adam's JP, but here's today's country auction special. Virtually no wear on the playfield, just lots of dirt. Lower right plastic test cleaned well, so things look promising.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Quoted from Otaku:Not what I was expecting...
Is that residue tacky or dry? At any rate, where the side rails will cover is a good area to experiment with removal methods. Heat gun may work, or the usual list of solvents, from least toxic on up. Might be tricky to keep out of the paint with the stronger solvents. Google glues for Formica and their removal.
Quoted from hoov:I've always wanted to pick up an Astro. How do you like game play?
After watching for an Astro for some time, I was able to finally pick up a nice original condition example this summer. It has had a ton of play since bringing it home, everyone loves it. While lighting the Wow targets isn't too hard, hitting them is another story, and a drain partially resets the game. And, as usual, the extra balls earned evaporate quickly.
Interestingly, it appears there was never a game counter installed. On the schematic it shows broken lines to the counter. Does this indicate that it was optional?
One of our favorites. Looks easy to beat, but not so. And when all but one or two targets are down, you understand the name "Volley".
Great looking restoration, Wayner!
Quoted from MikeO:So you're saying just let Krud Kutter sit and do it's work and it gets most of the staining with only wiping it off?
That's been my experience. It starts to work immediately. I've never left it on longer than a few minutes, but I haven't seen staining as heavy as yours. Wipe down finally with a slightly damp rag. May be worth searching the EM forum for more details, I first heard of it when Dirtflipper posted about Krud Kutter several years ago.
