Having mega fun with 20 drops, 2 inch flippers and yellow dot coils from Steve Young's Pinball Resource. I did feel the need to add two GI lights under the top arch. Can't keep my hands off this 2001. Drop 'em all and she lights up like a Wurlitzer juke. I've never seen so many crazy ball routes with the upper slings. 137,900 plays and it one of my best playing decks. They really made a great pin back in 1971
Quoted from pinwiztom:Always wished that GTB would have made 2001 BG have a bit of light animation
with the 4 main larger cards flying out towards you from the BG
be color corresponding with each color drop target set completed (Red/Blue/Green&Yellow)
Mine does just that except they're not color coordinated: drop 1 set & one card flashes, 2 sets and a second card flashes and so on. It only does it when the game is playing. When the last ball drains it stops.
Quoted from Otaku:One day I will get my hands on a 2001. Although I did have a lot of fun on Dimension... hmm... (You know, I was going to be a replay-only guy but when you find a gem that's an add-a-ball you just have to take it home, so now that that cherry is popped, anything goes! Kind of like how EMs in general invaded my plans of being an SS collector originally... I've got yet another add-a-ball game or two heading into my collection soon. I'm going to have one diverse collection, that's for sure! I guess when you let games find you rather than seeking them out that is how it goes and the only way it goes, but I don't mind! I don't prefer one over the other, but I've found that some games like Fun Land (since owning it) are actually much more preferable to me over the replay version.)
I didn't even want to buy my 2001. I went to a nice lady's house to buy her EM rifle game, GTB Soccer and her Chicago Coin Slapshot. As soon as I walked in and saw the 2001 I tried to plug it in and the cord shorted out with a pop! I told her I only had so much room in the van and no I didn't want it as it had a lot of wear or so I thought. She basically made me buy it. I've never been so initially wrong about a pin.
Quoted from DCRand:Question re Big Hit. Found one here and they are asking $300. It's a big project, cabinet paint very rough, and multiple electrical problems, but playfield and back glass are pretty good. I just don't think worth $300. Any input?
Who cares about the cabinet? It's a single player Wedgehead so it's easy to troubleshoot & maintain. Grab it! Love mine
I actually made that same mistake with Steve Young too. I said, "gimme some o dem red dots...
You can imagine the schooling I got.
My 2nd grade teacher was right about me.
Quoted from ryansherwood:Well, I finally got Jungle Princess up to the apartment on Sunday. Much easier task after removing the playfield. Been trying to pinpoint the problem on the constantly spinning motor when you turn the game on and think I may have found it. I discovered two unsodered wires on Sunday and thought they were from the start relay but just today discovered they were from the 2nd chute relay which I'm guessing shouldn't effect the game only the second coin chute? I then went over all the relays and lightly pressed down on them and the start relay didn't move it felt jammed up. Looks like some of the switches are bent up and I'm having hard time getting them to unjam (tight space to work in) but I'm hoping unbending these and getting them positioned properly will solve the problem.
Keep at it cause Jungle Princess is one of the best
Quoted from ryansherwood:Well I got the motor to stop spinning on power on but now it's stuck on game over. Would you mind sending me a picture of the switches on the Start and AX relays on your jungle princess?
Will do. I'll be back in town on Monday
Marblehead Town Hall proudly owns the original Spirit of 76. I love the tie-in to my town with this awesome 4 player. It's truly a great tourney game for me, the boys and a bottle of bourbon.
The plastics depicting exploration in covered wagon to Apollo moon rockets also fills me with pride. That's a hellava lot of progress in 200 years.
Quoted from o-din:I agree. From wagons that had an occasional wheel fall of to spacecraft that only had one that caught fire on the launch pad makes me proud to be an American
Hell ya!!!
It truly make me verklempt.
Quoted from Otaku:No more EM pictures from me for a little while!

Hate disassembling the gameroom as I know it (all games) but it is for the best and hopefully my games can return to a much better and prettier one after the issues are fixed and other work I couldn't do with all the games down there is done. Very very weird feeling seeing all of the titles packed up or about to be packed up after some of them have been set up for almost two years. Let me tell you, I certainly prefer my games setup and ready to play! Just gotta keep telling myself it's only temporary.
Luckily no damage for games that were on legs. Pulling them all out to save the humidity damage and also empty it out to get a french drain and sump pump put in.
Rain & seepage?
Just picked up two pins from a body shop in Fitchburg MA. Some guy brought in his hot rod for some body work and couldn't come up with the cash to pay his bill, so the owner of the body shop took the pins as partial payment.
I only have room for one pin. Which is the better player?
The angle of the drops on Vulcan intrigue me. I never played one but I can see hitting the lowers and it continuing on and dropping the uppers
My son says, "who needs spinners when you have Vulcan's hall of fire?
We both love those 5 star rollovers when their lit for 1k each, never mind when it's 2X scoring
This game restores my faith in humanity. Can't stop playing it.
Quoted from bicyclenut:I had to show all of you this. What the heck is this?

So I'm talking to Todd Tuckey at Pintastic last night and asked him, "I know you're really not into EMs & hate selling them and all, but I gotta ask, what's your favorite?
His answer: Pretty Baby.
Said he fell in love with her face a long time ago and it has a special place in his heart. Nice!
We seem to always gravitate towards Nip It! for (quick ball time) 4 player death matches. It's almost indispensable when the cold beer flows.
Does anybody have a list of the titles Williams made in the 60's with that drink & butts shelf in front of the coin door?
Quoted from Darcy:1960: Black Jack, Darts, Jungle, Magic Clock, Music Man, Viking.
1961: Bo Bo, Caravelle, Highways, Hollywood.
Thanks for the info. It looks like a Music Man is the best on that list with 4 flippers and a disappearing pop bumper.
Quoted from jrpinball:Is that the one that was on Craigslist in the Hartford, CT area?
Yes

Somebody just scored a very nice Darts and it wasn't me.
Quoted from Vic_Camp:I would the Williams Line Drive pitch and bat first.
As always, right on the money Vic
Quoted from stashyboy:Nice. I asked the seller about the game and they simply told me it was rough. Looks like it's not bad. Maybe a bit of missing paint on the back last score real area. Should clean up pretty decent.
It has a full metal bottom plate that’s folded up on all 4 sides. Was that a part you could order or did some operator get busy with a metal brake?
Quoted from mbaumle:There was an operator down here in the Philly area named Stan Harris who did that to pretty much all his games. I'm willing to bet that the instruction and score cards are also hand typed from a typewriter as well. Those are telltale signs you've got a Harris game. My old Sure Shot was a Stan Harris game that had that too, and it took all afternoon to get all those damn carriage bolts out, since they were rusted and stripped out.
To my knowledge, it wasn't a factory option, but just something he did to keep people from drilling up through the bottom to get into the cashbox. No clue why he had all the instruction cards re-typed though. Maybe to keep the originals as spares?
That’s an amazing wealth of knowledge.
Can’t thank you enough and yes, it’s riddled with carriage bolts.
Quoted from DaMoib:... and is that a wooden, vented backbox door?
I also have a Volley with carriage bolts along the bottom and two larger bolts on either side of the coin door (I assume for a bar across the door).[quoted image]
Your bolt pattern matches mine exactly. Does yours have the wooden back panel also? Mine has paint specks and almost looks factory

Damn that looks clean! Low plays too...
I miss mine. Have you see this?
Quoted from MikeO:The only thing better is if they are for the machine you found them in AND it needs them.
They were in my newly acquired Pat Hand but the machine doesn’t need them. Also the NOS set seems to be set on a brownish orange color but the machines plastics are more yellow toned.

I betcha 11 doughnuts and 1 cruller they’re NOS prototype. The original flyer shows them in a color that’s more beige than yellow. Mmmmmm doughnuts....
74CDD15B-5566-4012-B618-845D9D59374A (resized).pngThe playfield has that clay dust from the original rubbers which will clean up and it’ll shine like a champ. 26k plays and the schematic still taped to the back panel. Looking forward to cranking the tunes in the garage, some IPAs and a rewarding shop job.
