I wasn't planning on getting started with EM machines. It all started with a co-worker "My brother in-law has this pinball machine, he wants to sell, the tilt is stuck......". What was I supposed to do, leave him there to die? I had to give him a home, a stable environment. Then he didn't get along with Rudy, so i folded Rudy up. Then he was lonely......

I picked this up this week and I am pretty sure, it is home to stay. It is so fast, it must me on high tap. I've only has the glass off enough to put the balls in. I will open it up soon I promise, damn that is a fun game.20150423_065326.jpg 20150422_215519.jpg

Quoted from Darcy:

Does the Mustang get driven once and a while?

I burned a couple tanks of gas in 2012 and started and moved it last year.

Quoted from PhilGreg:

Has the cabinet been restored?

no it hasn't been restored, the playfield is the nicer than the cab. I did replace the base inserts on that though.

#6410 3 years ago
Quoted from AlexSMendes:

Sweet.... let me ask you.... do you mean to protect the garage floor or the leg's feet?

Just in case you are serious, I am protecting a different floor by not scratching up the new levelers.

Quoted from Spider3582:

That's the baseball pin I really wanted and settled for a Grand Slam when one became available 5 miles from my house

I've been really wanting a World Series. I had a trade lined up for a Grand Slam once, rented a van loaded two machines and let it run all night so the machines wouldn't get damaged by the -20f and the guy backed out at 4 am. I was leaving at 5 am.

#6450 3 years ago

I finally got around to putting the playfield protector on this today. I like that it is protected and completely flat, but I do prefer the ball rolling on wood. It plays completely different. 20160618_204541_(resized).jpg20160618_204658_(resized).jpgbehold my broken plastics and ball swirl20160618_201840_(resized).jpg20160618_201919_(resized).jpg

Quoted from boilerman:

i want the one on the end! no not sky line!!

I'd burn the others for heat before I'd sell that! It's funny because I was wanting one, had a guy tell me he was looking for one and I told another guy about that and he said he was looking for one. So thinking I'd never come across one, I said "well he asked first so if I find one f him it's yours." So then I found one and I'm an ass because I kept it so if I do get rid of it it's his if he doesn't already have one

Quoted from Black_Knight:

Picked up this near perfect Buccaneer at the Atl show a couple of weeks ago.
Claimed to be HUO and digging into it I believe it. 7800 plays. Unbelievably clean inside.

I love it! Soooo fun to rip that spinner!!

#6512 3 years ago

And dibs if y o u decide to get rid of it

#6515 3 years ago
Quoted from ckcsm:

So what is the title??

If you look says on post 6508. I'm not going to say anymore about it kinda off topic and why it's off in the picture.

Quoted from stashyboy:

I like your line up Elvis, and I think a lot of us would like to play with Annie (did at the PHoF). For now, I'll have to settle for that Pin-Up, just restored one myself.

That looks great!! Pin rescue plastics and it looks like your Webb glass is nicer than mine too. Mine is still in the works, was stored with no back door and was VERY dirty inside, BIG project! I haven't been in much of a hurry, bleached my posts with peroxide in the window for a year, they came out awesome.

#6530 3 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

A year!!!!! Peroxide exposed to light is stable for about 1/2 a day. Then it turns to water and oxygen!

I think your timeline might be a little flawed, it is the uv that causes the reaction in the sealed bottle. It would for sure be long worthless in a year, I did change it three times between. I am aware there were periods of time where it wasn't doing much. There are posts and threads about it, bleaching plastic with hydrogen peroxide for extended periods of time with sunlight. I am completely ok with you thinking i'm stupid in mind or action.

Now I really need a longer wall and a great spinner game I really miss the Funpark I had! 20160814_210923.jpg

#6942 3 years ago

I don't know what I was thinking, I played the piss out of it.

#6944 3 years ago

My playfield was perfect, the rest not so much. The cab and bg rough, filthy inside from years in a garage with no back door....

#6947 3 years ago

It doesn't look as bad as I remember. Mostly I only seem to care about the next one and the ones I don't have any more...20160118_073326.jpg20150813_230401.jpg

#6949 3 years ago

The backglass was the only thing good about that. The playfield would have been good if someone hadn't put a post between the flippers on the second try.

Quoted from Otaku:

Great restoration! Looks like a great original (meaning you did a great job), or did you just strip the paint off or something? Either way, great work.
Also, I apologize for the keen eye but it appears somebody put a 60's Gottlieb score reel in the 10 point position.

Thanks! So far I've stripped the paint and touched up the cab, replaced the glass and gotten it playing. I've still got some things on the list the score reel is one of them.

#7420 3 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Is that one of the Jeff McAfee plexiglass repro backglasses?

I think so classic arcades? I had known of the machine when I stumbled on the backplexiglass I decided to take it on. I think for the money it is a excellent solution, I'd like to see more titles from them. I won't stop looking for a nice original though.

#7424 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I picked up two more woodrails yesterday, or should I say they were delivered.
Unfortunately one of the backglasses got broke during transit and it was near mint but wasn't my doing. No use crying over spilled milk. All I can do is hope for a repro in the not too distant future. I'm going to set them up as soon as I get around to it.

a WMS 21? and a Gottlieb something?

#7425 3 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Yes, Classic Arcades. The only thing that threw me was that the number one for the thousands position on your glass doesn't appear to be black as it is on the two I bought from him. The black number one makes it look like you have scored over 1,000 points at the get go. That's basically my only gripe about that repro. The colors aren't perfect, but it's not bad considering no one has repro'd a screened version.
His "Sea Wolf" and "Rocket" are pretty good too, but the "Space Ship" isn't really pleasing. Again, better than poor original or nothing at all, but the colors are way off on that one.

I was expecting the one on the outside like the picture and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't.
Do you have a Space Ship?

#7441 3 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

I don't have a repro "Space Ship" glass if that's what you mean. I saw one live, and just don't like it.

No, I meant do you have a Space Ship machine?

Quoted from jrpinball:

You have the alternate cabinet design. I've never seen one in person like that, but I know both types exist.

Where have you seen one? I wonder how many there are.

#7485 3 years ago
Quoted from bek1966:

Nice looking Space Ship! Really love the backglass and playfield artwork on this one.

Nice looking MG!

#7488 3 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

I've seen photos of the cabinet design you have, but every one I've seen in person has the cabinet like mine.
IPDB shows both types. The flyer shows the style that your game has, so those are probably earlier production models.
http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=Space+Ship&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick#2259

Yes that is this machine on IPDB serial 57804. The serial number database says its a sample game. I can find any photos of a different example with this cabinet.

#7492 3 years ago
Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Also wondered about this game. It is a beauty, amazing artwork and looks a ton of fun to play.

Dirtflipper had it, told me I should buy it. It took me a week or two the realize he was right.
I think it is really fun to play, it's definitely one of those "one more game" games and the art I completely agree.
It's coming along, it's going to be very nice.

#7495 3 years ago
Quoted from Pinballprowess:

I have seen a fair amount of Space Ships through the years... in collections, at the shows, etc. and have never seen another one with this style of painted cabinet. Or for that matter, in any pictures I have seen of the game. It is possible... 'possible' that this is the one on the flyer, hard to say. But it just seems odd that another one wouldn't have shown up somewhere. Unfortunately, hard to verify one way or the other but an interesting footnote.
And even machines using this same pattern (Ten Spot for instance) I don't recall one that is 'yellow' and white.

The machine on the flyer isn't a photograph, it's some sort of artistic rendering. I would imagine they made at least a handful, but who knows

Lovely machine. I'm a big fan of space themes. LEDs in EMs not so much.

Well these Nifty Retros keep my inserts from moving, my plastics from shrinking and wood and art from drying and cracking so i'm a fan of that.

#9583 2 years ago

It's hard to compete with GE for warm glow though. 20170906_063432 (resized).jpg that pop bumper may have and led so much reckless behavior goes on over here I've lost track.

#9584 2 years ago
Quoted from AlexF:

That's a sample isn't it? Did you get that one from Dirtflipper? Super cool machine.

I did get it from him. It seems to be the only one anyone has seen with the same cabinet art as the flyer. Other games had the cabinet art but not these colors. The serial number is consistent with the came that was produced just before spaceship. What does it mean maybe it is the first one prototype, test sample? I don't know.

Did someone say Beat the Clock? I drove to Denver and back last year around this time to buy this from Wickerman2 I LOVE it! 20180126_070037 (resized).jpg

#10230 1 year ago

It was a heck of a trip almost entirely on back roads. You should get yours up and running it is on heck of a game I haven't beat the clock yet. You should be able to find a glass I saw in an old Gameroom magazine they were screened repros done. The nice condition of mine made me wonder it is a repro I haven't checked yet.

#10233 1 year ago
Quoted from PinballFever:

Beat The Clock looks like a fun game and I think I saw one at the PHOF in Las Vegas last weekend when I went in to look over the games and try playing Atlantis for the first time to see if it's as good as everyone says it is.

Soooo what did you think of Atlantis?

It is very clean!! I went to clean under the inserts there was nothing under them, it came with all the paperwork too. I think he deserves a birthday present this year and a CAKE!!20180616_160926 (resized).jpeg
