Quoted from Sea_Wolf:

Broke down my 9’ Brunswick Gold Crown Pool Table and moved to storage at my house so I can redo my Game room. I shed a tear or two but the machines won out.
Got my red gloss floor painted along the long wall. Going to have a Wedgehead wall along the shorter wall when I finish painting the rest of the floor.
[quoted image]

Very cool lineup of machines! One day I would love to have 5 or 8 machines lined up along a wall in my basement like yours. Very cool. I think getting a bunch of EMs is my only shot at it, given the price escalation of anything with circuit boards. You red floor paint is looking great too.

#12896 2 years ago

Sea_Wolf, that sounds like a great strategy. I've got 2 machines right now. I was thinking just last night how much fun it would be to add a couple of cheap EMs and then some cheap early solid state machine to get up to 5. It would be a lot of fun to invite people over and have little tournaments. My space is limited until my wife closes up her florist shop in the unfinished part of our basement. Then I'll be able to establish my lineup! haha.

Looks amazing Sea_Wolf! I love the red floor and all of your machines. How many electrical circuits do you have for all of them?

Just bought a Card Whiz in a Jet Spin cabinet!

Also picked up a project Fireball at the same place!

Added a project El Dorado to go along with my Fireball project. I think I have a good start on an EM collection with my Card Whiz to complete the trio.

Very cool. Doubt I’ll ever see one of these in person. I love unusual things. Is Spooksville any fun to play? I can’t tell how much there is to do as far as shots or targets to aim for.

Quoted from mrm_4:

The thread needed a good bump!
I’ll show off my Strato Flite a little.
Check out the resto thread if you haven’t already.

Such a nice looking machine!

Quoted from mrm_4:

Haha DanMarino! When you gonna tear down that space mission and start a thread? You need to join the resto club!

I appreciate the encouragement! Hopefully in January or February of 2023 I'll get my son-in-law's Space Mission over to my basement so I can begin working on it. I'm pretty sure he just wants to get it cleaned up and working. So I doubt that one will get a clear coat applied, but I'll ask him if he wants me to do that. His machine is pretty gross. At some point in time, someone sprayed WD-40 all over every mechanism. Ugh.

Quoted from Garrett:

Three months or less.
It’s so worth it DanMarino. From your videos and also owning a Time Zone you tune a pin in exactly as they should run, hot and fast. Get rid of the cupped inserts and EM’s scream with ball speed AND accuracy.
And the pin is good for another 50 years

I appreciate the compliment. I do enjoy getting these pinball machines up and running. I need to tear down my Fireball and add some more layers of clear to the playfield. It got to a point where I just wanted to play the thing. I sprayed a bunch of clear, but it has some problems. So I'll go at it again at some point in time.

I would also like to preserve my El Dorado playfield, so I will likely clear that at some point. I like how mrm_4 clears his motor/relay boards, so I also want to give that a try.

My Bally Time Zone is pretty fun and since I got it for $200 I don't mind messing with it. It might be the next one to get torn down and cleared. I'm going to add some music to it for sure and do that motor/relay board.

So I'll give it a go eventually. Most of my winter I'll be putting up some walls and a door in our unfinished side of the basement to create a pinball room.
With the cost of pinball machines, I'm likely to become an EM guy. My pinball room isn't going to be very large, so that will limit my collection. I am thinking I will work on making the machines I already own as nice as I can. I'm still not sure I want to mess with repainting cabinets and heads though. We will see how bored I get. haha.

Very cool. I've been wanting to do slow motion videos of my machines in action. What type of camera did you use? You had a good score for that game. I love getting the knocker to activate!
