I uploaded a vid of my only pin for now. I figured I would show it here as well as on the video thread.
I got a Top Score last year and already posted that one, and here it is with the Volley I got a few later. It was HOU for the last 25 years, had all the paperwork and the schematic was still taped in the lightbox. A very clean unit.-

Thanks, Boiler. Coming from you that is a huge compliment The pic looks like the red is washed out, but it's not at all. It is in excellent shape. I was lucky to score this.
Quoted from boilerman:Bally screened in house, gottlieb and the others contracted out the work. they must of had a better process or better material.
That explains a lot.
Quoted from Xerico:The Bally Sea Ray that I traded for last weekend is now ready to play!
Playfield cleaned with magic erase and simple green.
New white rubbers added. New pinball life PerfectPlay green flipper rubbers added.
Switches, relays and steppers adjusted and cleaned as needed.

Looks like the playfield needs a coat of wax before you play it and switch out those Gottlieb bats.
Quoted from presqueisle:Wow. That is the nicest I've seen!
Flippers set correctly too
Set correctly? They look too low. I have mine set even with the rail.
Quoted from presqueisle:Been discussed here before with mixed thoughts. Put the center line of the flipper evenly between the two wire guides. Try it. Geometry is much better. Now hit the lower drop target with the right flipper. All my 3" are set this way and it seems like that's how it was all designed. Imo.
I disagree as it introduces randomness for shots coming off the return rails. Having the upper edge of the bats lined up with the rails refuces that.
I have used leds behind a BGResto glass. I think that they are kinda needed due to the density of the color film used. Tried them for Top Score in various other locations, but there were some ghosting issues so I went back to 47 bulbs. I prefer the incandescent look, anyway.
Quoted from o-din:47s? Most of the EMs I've ever owned came with 44s. 47s are not bright enough for GI or inserts on the playfield. I have put some behind the backglass on games with some paint loss there though.
That is correct, but for me 47s do not seem that much dimmer and do run cooler.
Congratulations on the Volleys, Boilerman! I was super lucky to find the one I have. Do post pictures please.
That Volley has the normal playfield, yet a sample serial? My playmeter was 29k when I got it, along with the schematic taped to the door as well.
Just checked the serial number db and I see your entry, but nothing earlier, and no other playfield pics from other samples. Hmm.
That Champion from Nordamatic has art from Gottlieb's 300/Top Score. Is that the arrangement they had?
Quoted from John_I:It's great to see so much love lately for Volley. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. Mine still gets tons of play and it's not going anywhere soon.
I feel the same way about mine. It's a sleeper. Great to see the title getting so much good press.
Quoted from boilerman:decided to repaint something this weekend that needed to be done. so i picked this one
Beautiful, as always. Exceptional work.
Quoted from Lermods:Been looking quite a while for a really nice volley and today I found it. Beautiful condition, very happy about the find and goes great with my attlantis. Now I just need a grand prix!
Nice Volley. Where did you find it?
I picked up mine from a cl ad about two years ago in similar shape and that was just dumb luck. Out here the pins are expensive, few and far between.
I live in a suburb of San Diego (in my profile) and the entire area up to LA is slim pickins on clean EMs.
Quoted from stashyboy:Does anyone know if Volley might have been the last Gottlieb game to have factory webbing? I know they had already used spatter on games from several years before as early as 1973/74?
Here is an interesting article about Volley. No mention of the webbing, though.

Quoted from gdonovan:Domino is a work in progress.. but getting there..
You can print out a set of instruction and replay cards at this site-

Quoted from AlexF:Sure, there are a few. Pleasure Isle, Big Top and Lariat. Maybe more.
Hmm. Yep just checked ipdb. I didn't know that.
I have worked on quite a few Gottliebs and find their materials and general workmanship better than others, but they do have sensitive relays, for example, the dreaded AX relay. But once, set, they keep going and going and going...
