Square head does look nice - went to ipdb to see the backglass. I wonder if it was themed after a cartoon?

#723 10 years ago
Quoted from hoov:

Great combo with the 2" flippers and the vari-targets. Most vari-target games have 3" flippers such as Jet Spin, Pro Football, etc.

I'm looking to buy one of these, and it has 3" flippers. Anybody know if 2" or 3" is OEM? Looks like a fun game!

#726 10 years ago

The 1970 Gottlieb Baseball should have 2" flippers.
A quick way to confirm stuff like this is to visit ipdb.org and look at the game flyer (can be a bit hard to see without zooming in sometimes, but if there's any lettering on the top of the flippers, it's a 2" flipper).

Check out these photos of the one for sale - has the word "bat" on the flippers, seller says 3 inch and from the looks of it they are. Haven't seen the machine in person yet.

OK - I see the difference now, game I'm thinking about buying with 3 inch flippers is a 1971 Playball, not a 1970 Baseball. They sure made these game look similar!

#734 10 years ago

Yes, its Playball - seller had it listed that way and I just didn't see it right.

I guess I'm not the only one who has figured out the Denver is a desert for AAB machines. They don't seem to ever cross the Mississippi!

Wow - thats a NICE lineup!

#1249 10 years ago

My Zig-Zag - I bought it for the cool backglass animation. This machine is one of my favorites to simply chill out on. Rules are simple and play is fast. Still debating repainting the cabinet, I sort of like the well used look.

And my 1955 Chicago Coin Bullseye Pitch and Bat. Still working on my restore, need to shop out the steppers and relays. Am also planning on restoring original paint that is buried underneath a coat of red and operator somewhere along the way applied to the machine. I need to get this one up on IPDB, there is a "Deluxe" version in the catalog with photos, but mine doesn't have the match feature and doesn't have the "deluxe" name on it's backglass.

Sure wish I could find add-a-balls here in Denver. That pin-up looks great and being an add-a-ball must be a lot of fun for the home player.

I bet is isn't too hard to move the numbers back on the counters, but I would find it hard to believe it would be worth the trouble or make a machine more valuable. Condition is everything.

#1613 10 years ago

That Big Deal should clean up real nice!

#1633 10 years ago

Are the legs on that Williams Jungle game original? Pretty cool and very 1960's!

I'd love to get a Card Whiz - one came up here in Denver on CL a few months back, but someone beat me to it.

Quoted from Caucasian2Step:

If you are traveling to CO, consider the last weekend in April for the Rocky Mountain Pinball Showdown. It's a solid show and always a great time.
For the more adventurous, The Dory Hill capground is the most unique and entertaining weekend you will have at altitude while competing at pin-golf. Check out my pics at the start of the Twilight Zone Owners Club thread to see what I did there last year.
If you aren't around then, let me know and I'm happy to open my collection to fellow pinsiders and give them the tour around our square state of pin-righteousness!

Do you have any details about the Rocky Mountain show? I'm hoping it is at the Sheraton DTC again, it is very close to where I live.

Still working through it, but here are a few snaps of the Mars Trek

Mars Trek looks fun - reminds me a little of pinbot with the planets in the playfield.

heres my new project stored for 19 years in a croft in the middle of nowhere!!
Think ill struggle to get a backglass!!!

set up at home

only thing working kick out holes and these 3 lights!!!

Damo666 - I've got a Zig Zag complete with schematics. My BG is in pretty good shape, but your machines playfield is in much better shape then mine. If you need any help with scans etc, just let me know.

I just realized Damo666's machine is Wing Ding, My Zig Zag is the replay/match version of Wing Ding. Everything looks the same except the backglass.

That was me! It's still in my garage. Haven't had time to start on it. I'll add pics shortly.

Wow - as I recall it was only $100. Congratulations on the find! Looking forward to seeing it when you've got it up and running.

Quoted from 5280wzrd:

Thats the one... $100.00. A little rough but its all here! Backglass restorations has a glass for it. Will start on the Card Whiz after I put Flash back together.

Wow - that was a steal! That machine will look great with a little work. A Jack of Diamonds was on craigslist here last week. Seller wanted $1199, I offered less but never heard from him and presume he got full price for it.

I'm just over the hill in Highlands Ranch - nice to see there are other EM collectors in Douglas County!

#2040 10 years ago
Quoted from Ice9ers:

I bought it - he said no one had offered over $800, so I did- it was a King O Diamonds

I was the guy who offered him $800. It looked a little beat up in the photos. Is it in decent shape? Glad to see some good machines are staying in Denver!

I've never seen a game as old as Universe in such good condition. Very nice!

Finally flipped Slick Chick @ 2028 points.

schiscore1.JPG 194 KB

Rat - that Slick Chick is really nice! I just picked up one of my own and have playfield envy. Did you do the playfield paint restoration yourself? Mine's got quite a bit of wear around the bumpers, but it is very restorable - just not something I can do myself very well. Wondering what yours was like before and how you got it to look the way it does now.

Quoted from Rat_Tomago:

Thank you alb0711. The counter on my Slick Chick has 7000 plays.

My machine has 69,000 plays and playfield shows it!

So when they have sex they produce new Fireballs machines. Knowing my luck it would only be the home edition model.

I always thought the children of Fireball machines were the SS versions! Kids always have to one up their parents.
