Quoted from firefighter:

Also picked up this woodrail Universe for $50 . My wife and favorite mother in law spotted it in a parking lot while I was inside the store. They wanted me see what the guy was going to do with it. So we waited for him and said it hasn’t worked for years and had no fixing skills. So 10 minutes later and we’re heading home with another pin. Got it going but needs all flippers rebuilt. Don’t know if I’ll keep it yet.

Wow, what a great find! Congrats.

Quoted from DaMoib:

Nice collection, thanks!
I haven't run across a Flipper before. Looked it up on IPDB, interesting read.
I need to get out more...

Thanks! Yes, Flipper was my first pin that I just lucked into, and I fell hard for this hobby after that. Love the gameplay, integration of theme with the reward (“pick-a-card, any card...” and if you “pick” the correct card again, bam, free ball!) and the history.

Quoted from Knxwledge:

Picked up this Jumping Jack for $225. Needs help with the backglass and the front of the cabinet (almost looks like it was left outside with the front exposed to the elements only, because the sides look really good). To my surprise it actually went through its reset phase and started a game. Excited for this one, the playfield looks like a more interesting version of Bally Air Aces, my other EM project lol

Nice pickup!

It’s a long-standing tradition in our town that the parents throw an all night party for the graduating HS senior class. I helped organize and took three of my games out of their man cave habitat down to the gym. Those games got played nonstop all night! I they were humming for sure. Was a great way to help these kids finish out a tough senior year.

I like loaning out my pins to friends who have kids. Here’s my 1964 Gottlieb Big Top getting some love from the kids and their friends. Their eyes were big as saucers when they saw it for the first time.

Quoted from aahgo:

Nice, I’ve had Four of the Flippers… Parade, Clown, Cowboy, and Pool. Only have Flipper cowboy left. Didn’t care for Flipper Parade, but I enjoyed the others. Never had an opportunity for Flipper Fair or Flipper.

Curious how you guys would rank the gameplay/fun factor of the Flipper-series games? I have a Flipper and a Flipper Pool (both of which I think are fantastic) but haven’t played any of the others.

Quoted from Mopar:

As far as playing, I can get into any of the Flipper Series games, but yes,
Flipper Cowboy and Flipper Fair are the better players..
I like Flipper Pool (1965), but it's not one of the Flipper Series games.
1962 Flipper Clown was the last of the series..

Thanks for the opinions and for setting me straight on Flipper Pool.

Quoted from Mopar:

I've been working on a C.C. Sun Valley the past couple weeks, and since a backglass
was very much needed, I converted the glass along with the game into the AAB version.
Although I myself don't know of any, I'm very confident a handful were produce, which
would make it (to my knowledge) the first True 2 Player AAB.
I didn't have the glass digitized, so it's not super crisp, but much better than the original.
I just picked up the glass today, and after seeing it lit, I'm going to add an extra layer
of white vinyl cut out to form in the cut out areas to dull out some of the bulbs' over
brightness.
btw: For me, converting to AAB made a huge difference for game play..
The local Print Shop is in the process of making the new Score and
Instruction Cards to match the play of the game..[quoted image][quoted image]

Niiiice—big Sun Valley thumbs up from this Idaho kid.

I set up my 1964 Gottlieb Big Top tonight for the first time in over a year. The gameplay is better than I remembered—lots of action and interesting shots. The extra ball count unit is sticky so I’ve got to get that ironed out, but otherwise everything is clicking and clacking as it should.

Quoted from NoQuarters:

Big Top looks like a cool game !

Quoted from Mopar:

A true Gottieb 2 Player AAB. Only 4 U.S. titles known.
Nice game!

Quoted from AlexF:

Looks great! The extra ball count unit on my Pleasure Isle was real fussy too. Took a lot of micro-adjustments to get it consistent.

Thanks guys! The intricate logic and layout make it a fun single player AAB game but if any of you’re ever out west we can break out some brews and fire it up.

Quoted from Mikala:

Just got done doing a full restoration on this ‘64 Wing Ding AAB for a friend. Big, grateful thank you to O-din for providing me with the replacement chrome flippers. Paint job done by previous owner needs to be addressed in the future, (white latex with vinyl stickers used for design, missing silver fleck) but is passable for now. Machine was full of hacks, guy tried to retrofit Gottlieb flippers for Williams. Led to shafts binding up and torching the coil, tilt ball rollover switches used as flipper switches, loose post had long wood screws through them that resulted in breaking the neutral wire running around and under the playfield & on & on….[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

That is an absolute beauty. Is that the original backglass or did you get one made?
