Cosmic Pinball was made by Briarwood which was a division of Brunswick. They made several models of home pinball machines in the late 70's - early 80's. The models each had different artwork screen printed on plexiglass for the backglass and playfield cover. The playfield graphics were decals if I recall. The playfield layouts were identical on each model. There wasn't alot to shoot for, a center rollover, 2 pop bumpers, 2 kickers, a center target and a couple of rebound switches.

We had the Skate King model that we got for Christmas. I believe my parents got it at Sear's or Montgomery Wards. It was one of the solid state models. We played the heck out of it for several years. The ball shooter broke and unfortunately a few years after these were produced, Briarwood shut down and replacement parts were no longer available. With a little McGyvering, we could still get the ball to launch in order to play it. We ended up giving it to another family with a bunch of kids when we outgrew it. If memory serves me right, the hardwood playfield showed very little wear after all the play we put it through. These pins were not full size, they were maybe 3/4 scale.

These are listed in the Internet Pinball Database, search for Briarwood.
