That's a fantastic restoration Robert! An excellent example of a great machine now. Guess I'll have to get in line with Lisa and Chris as I too would love to buy it.

Hi greenechidna, welcome to Pinside. I'm an Aussie myself, originally from Perth. You have a nice collection of EM's there. Well done. I used to have a few EM's back in the early 90's when I was in Perth. I had a High Hand, and came close to buying a Hit The Deck. I often wonder who has my old pins nowadays. Hope you enjoy Pinside, cause I do. Cheers, Mal
I think most imported pins came through Leisure and Allied and were then converted to 240. I actually worked at Leisure and Allied in Perth back in '93 for a short time. Not on pins though. Pretty big place. I think Leisure and Allied had a Sydney warehouse as well.
All the pins I ever had already had a 240v transformer in them. Never seen a 110v one in Aus.
ps. I've never seen a green echidna, only a few brown ones and a hairy one in Tazzie.
Congrats on your pick up wayner. It should scrub up nicely. I'm an old revhead too, lol. Was even the computer guy on a nitro funny for a while
Congrats on a great pin oldcarz. I just finished the artwork on a Nags platter for Steve in Texas.

I'd love to play a nags one day. Nice to see how the platter works in that video.
Enjoy. I had a High Hand project many years ago. I bondo'd the rough cabinet and sanded it down, got it looking nice and undercoated it and made my own stencils, but then I sold it before I got it finished, so I'll enjoy following your restoration thread on it.
Good score Raff. That cab could sure use some tlc, so have fun with your repaint. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
...how come your lawn is green? Adelaide must be getting more rain than Perth.
Well done Raff. It's looking good
..what's with your address painted on ya bin? Now we know where your pins are hiding
Quoted from Raff:I had a bin stolen so i painted that on there and the bin is still with us.
Raff
Yeah fair enough Raff. Good idea.
re the webbing...I didn't actually notice it was missing. Observant aren't I? lol
I don't really like it anyway, I prefer the speckle look. And I really dislike the cracked paint look that my Recel has.
Thanks for the tip on the webbing spray cans Joe, I didn't know that.
Quoted from Raff:King Pin Project finished
Great job Raff! That pin looks really nice
Quoted from wayner:...Completed full resto of Bally 1976 Aladdin's Castle. Machine plays fast and fun to play...
You did an excellent job on your Aladdin's Castle Wayne! It looks great.
Quoted from Raff:Just picked up 2 more project machines; a Gottlieb Olympics and a Jack in the Box. Raff
Gee, I need to move to Adelaide! Lucky you Raff, there's barely any pins for sale in Perth that doesn't cost the earth.
Cool. Make sure to keep us up to date with pics. If you weren't so far away I'd give you a hand as lockdown is making everybody bored. I'd enjoy bogging and sanding a cab for something to do. In saying that, I should get off Pinside now and go and adjust some switches or something on my pin...
Excellent job Raff! Looks like a new one. Thanks for the photos and for giving it a new lease of life.
Gee Raff, where do you find all these old pins? You're making me jealous. Good onya for restoring them though. At least you're getting stuck into it. That will look great once you've given her a new coat of paint. Least it's not raining hard over there. Yet.
Nice Topper. I used to own a High Hand many moons ago, but going by the back glass it wasn't that one...but you never know
Quoted from Raff:Bought a Chicago Coin Play time......plus a Gottlieb Volley
Well done Raff. More projects to keep you busy. Makin' me jealous again with the pins you keep finding, lol
That looks great Raff. Duotron holds a special place in my heart as that was the machine that got me hooked on pins. The local kids and myself played one almost to death back in 1978 as it was the only pin in town in the local deli. We were always trying to light that damn special!
Quoted from Raff:This game would have to be the hardest game I have ever played to get those specials lit up.
Haha, tell me about it, but we didn't know any better back in '78 as it was the only pin around to play.
I remember the deli owner used to put a carton of coke and a little chalk board on top of the back box and the kid with the highest score at the end of each month won it. I never once got on that board, lol
