Quoted from singlezero:so is mini like a 1/2 of one or a 1/4 of two?
Almost as nice as my mini pool. (sarcasm)
You suck JR...Do you know how much work you've caused me? All because you mentioned my BG was faded.
Quoted from jrpinball:Did you make a new backglass? I didn't say anything about your playfield!
Yes, made a new back glass. but that inspired me to keep going. Redid the entire playfield, cabinet to do in the spring. I'll send before and after pics in a day or two if you're interested. The art work is done, and it's out getting clear coated today. Yes, I know...I hate clear coat on an EM too, but this one needed it.
Quoted from gdonovan:There was one for sale out here in CT a few months ago, sold quick and vanished without trace.
Vanished to your garage?
Quoted from Vic_Camp:I know you put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into that playfield restoration....and it truly looks magnificent. Congratulations!
Thanks Vic
Quoted from Jaymach1:Wow, really nice. Just learning the basics of playfield restoration but I know enough to see a quality job. Congrats
Quoted from packie1:Now that is one hell of a nice looking Playfield. You should be proud. Cant wait to see your next project.
Mike
Thanks, My 1st attempt. Don't know if there'll be a next project. I prefer if EM's aren't clear coated.
Quoted from Vic_Camp:Hopefully I can play a game on it when I get back home from Florida at the end of the month?
sure thing. I still have to fix some scoring issues that the game has had since before I got it. No-one has noticed them, but it doesn't score properly.
Quoted from jrpinball:You're really not giving us much to go on...
No, but the next picture will give it away.
and check out the fine looking Beatniks.
Quoted from jrpinball:I think "DT" is referring to previous folks who used a pound of axle grease mixed with glue! Now when we find these games, we need a hammer and chisel to free the steppers!
That's what I'm talking about.
They aren't locked up, but there's a ton of grease on all of the plungers and shafts on the score reels and ball count unit. . It's still yellow and gooey. Gonna have to clean that up.
I'm also going to have to fix the previous owners cabinet "repairs" and "repaints"
I'll post more pics win a few days.
Probably for a different thread, but I use just a then coating of a silicone lube that Radio Shack sold years ago. I don't think it's available anymore.
Quoted from ckcsm:Good luck getting that Volley going; I bought one in very nice condition last year that I enjoy playing very much, mine is set for 130,000 for a free game and that's tough to achieve, much easier to try to get all the drop targets down and go for the special alternating up top; it's definitely one of those games that you want to always play just one more to try to beat!
Thanks,
I've gone through most of it and it's just about 100% playable. I just need to find why the 100's relay gets stuck sometimes, I'm thinking the pop bumper switch stack. And the FS relay needs to be rebuilt. The 10,000 pt score reel wasn't counting up, that was due to the globs of grease on it, I'm still scratching my head on that one, will have to go through all of the steppers.
The seller was so proud of his work.
It will need some cosmetic TLC, but overall, it's pretty much playable now.
Quoted from PinballFever:Looks good. Is this playfield clear coated even with the paint missing from the sock or are you planning to touch that up?
Thanks,
not clear coated, just cleaners up with 2 coats of wax. I am planning on doing the touchups.
Quoted from boilerman:what is the issue with you head?
lol, I knew you'd ask that.
The face has been replaced. It's not the correct size, and poorly attached. The glass can fall between the head and the face. The repaint job is horrible, it's glossy, no webbing and the wrong colors. The head is also held together by dry wall screws. I'm sure I'm missing a few things too.
Oh yes, the top right corner of the left side looks like, for lack of a better description, an abrasion. The plywood has beef scraped or maybe sanded bellow the 1st ply. It’s going to take some skill to square that corner, and it would cause me to repaint that side. And with having to repaint the side and front, I’d have to repaint the entire head. Which I’m sure in turn would require an entire cabinet repaint.
The pictures are deceiving.
Quoted from jrpinball:Not really bad looking in the photos, but why do the score numbers look blue?
Too much to mention, and kind personal
Did I OD on Viagra?
Pinsude had a glitch when I posted that. I was in reference to the what’s wrong with my head question.
The numbers look blue because that’s stencil material that I used to mask the score reel windows for triple thick. I left them in place for when the white gets touched up.
Look forward to seeing it when finished. Vid's playfield restoration guide is the best.
Lol, I’m looking forward to it as well!
Yes, his threads have been priceless.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:I'd like to see a pic of the candy (cig) machine. I had a much larger once but would like to some day find one like you have. A pic of her when I first got it. I ended up selling it to a prop crew for something HBO was filming in New Orleans. I liked that it was all mechanical, the only thing the electricity was for was to turn on a light.
Then back to EMs
I'll get some pics is a few.

Here ya go.....I'm pretty sure that it's not a pin.
Quoted from Grayman_EM:What price do you have set for the items? Going old school or current on those prices? Looks just like I remember. Now you need a chip, cigarette and Pepsi machine.
Sorry I like Pepsi more than Coke.
55¢ I think that's as high as it can be set. I like Pepsi better too, but I do have a coke machine.
Quoted from jrpinball:He hinted now and then. Your "Lucky Strike" for his "King Pin". Or didn't he ever mention it?
I'm not sure if he was serious. (were you Vic?)
Quoted from Vic_Camp:I might have traded my King Pin for it straight up.
I can't let go of anything, you know that.
And I'm liking Luck Strike. It's a challenge to beat.
Quoted from willbeEM:After I filled the inserts
What's your technique for filling cupped inserts?
Quoted from Vic_Camp:This pic might have been 2005...when I started transitioning into a game room.
It's practically naked!
Quoted from goldenboy232:Next time I'm up on the Falcon I'll have to swing by to see your collection, too, sir!
you're more than welcome anytime.
Quoted from gdonovan:The next three to go, wife and I are downsizing..
Don't tell me that you're going to put a car in BOTH garages!
Quoted from jrpinball:Ooh, goodie! Did you ever sell your Gottlieb one?
Yes, about a month ago to a decent guy, just setting up his game room.
Quoted from boilerman:really a big
project
I've seen worse.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from Jack or his dad.
Quoted from NinJaBooT:Anyone know anything about these or the value? Got an opportunity to buy four of them.
I have the Darts version of the same thing. I paid 25 bucks. maybe worth about 100. The table Tennis one may be valued differently.
Quoted from NinJaBooT:Ouch, buddy wanted 200 each
They may be worth that, I don't know. but I think that would be on the high side of their value. I don't know about Table Tennis, but the Darts version gets old fast. It's quite boring. However, I like it for it's uniqueness.
BTW, I was taking USD.
Quoted from heatwave:Nice Domino. Had that game in the past, I think it has one of the best pop-bumper arrangements of any EM. Really gets the ball moving!
Thanks, I'm finding that it can be a real drain monster
Quoted from heatwave:That's a painting my wife did (of my Sing Along).
Nice. Could be the start of a new thread!
very nice. I'm in the middle of redoing a Dimension, also waiting on plastics. I wasn't planning on polishing everything on the motor board, but you're making me feel guilty!
Quoted from jrpinball:Ah, a "Funland"!
Oh shush! lol
you can tell by the two coin slots
Actually, my daughter was astonished that you knew the machine by just seeing that small area of two stripes on the face.
Quoted from jrpinball:I've seen my share of both versions. Should have known the replay version by the coin slots.
Don't beat yourself up over it.
Quoted from Murphdom:So when are we going to see the rest?
oh, you want more?

Well if you ever come across an extra sling plastic for the right side let me know because mine has a crack in the Fun Park that is currently in my line up.
Will do.
Quoted from Phillips88:Fun Land is a very underrated machine! I love the light animation in the middle of the playfield and the spinner point lights! Best of all is the moving SPECIAL with each point
I've just gotten it going, but haven't shopped it yet. I'm liking the rule set and the combination of skill and randomness.
Quoted from Mikala:Just when I thought I was almost done with my new game room, my wife gave permission
Gave you permission!
all the inserts are cupped. I'll need to clean it up and see how it plays before deciding to level them.
Quoted from John_in_NC:Did a 1000 mile round trip for this project yesterday. Just sweaty enough to require a complete restore with great cabinet hardware and the playfield will clean up perfectly. I’ll restore and repaint the cabinet, clearcoat the playfield, new backglass. Going to be sweet. Finally a cabinet refinish that’s not a red white and blue.
That's dedication. It looks like it's got good bones and will clean up very nicely. Why not keep such a great machine original? Does the pf need touchups? Is the cabinet art trashed?
