Looks like a fun project.
I'd love to come across a whirlybird or something like a Midway Sea Devil, Sea Raider etc. I'd like to have (and passed by) a EM shuffle alley but I just don't have the room.

#2456 10 years ago

Olympics lights up and plays! About 75% anyway as most of the roll over switches are not working. Yet.

Just picked up a Gottlieb Pro Football to go with our other two wedge heads today.
Here are some of our pinball playing talent enjoying the entire row.

Congrats on your Pro Football. I played that game in a tournament put on by Bally back in 1972 in my hometown bowling alley so it has fond memories.

Tell your girls to bring as many friends over as possible so we can show this generation how great em's are!

The Pro Football is a super fun game trying to score touchdowns as well as score regular points. It is also our first game with the vari-targets which are a blast. The only problem with this game it that I keep reaching for the damn plunger.
May have to install a fake one just to make me feel better.
Kids and pinball are a regular occurrence at our house.

Just an FYI that unfortunately the "OT: Show us your EM Gun & Submarine Games" topic has been moved by the Moderator Seal Clubber. It is my belief the thread will get lost in the general OT section and asked if maybe an OT-EM subcategory could be created to prevent this and if Robin would approve this.

If not, at least you know where the thread disappeared to and hopefully we can keep it going anyway.

EDIT 4/6/2014:

The Moderator has moved the topic back to the EM section for now.....yahoo!

That's too bad - I don't turn on the OT forum- ever. Seemed appropriate for the EM "hangout" which is kind of open to all EM I thought. If not, maybe an "EM Arcade" would be better.

Thanks for the idea, Suggestion was sent to the Moderator to pass on to Robin.

Now if we could only get the EM Tech sub-forum moved under here too, life would be grand.

Could just have an EM Arcade Game sub-forum. Lots of neat vintage EM games out there.

Id want to be careful not to segregate too much. I think it is nice when someone not necessarily into EM comes across our musings and slowly wanders over here. I used to think EM pins were boring and all I wanted was SS or newer in my collection. Now I am leaning more toward the EM side and probably would be happy with nothin but EM pins if it came down to it. The community of EM guys here is a big part of that attitude. I surely would not have made the change if not for my experience here on pinside. Nothing against SS and newer games. But now I feel I have "seen the light" as another pinsider recently said.

#2465 10 years ago

I started out like pafasa all ss the slowly moved to em then even went futher to em wedgeheads
I like playing ss games but the sweet spot to me are the single player wedgies

I only meant as underneath "Electro-Mechanical". Not sure why there's only "EM Hangout" underneath "Electro-Mechanical", with no other peer sub-forum to it. Several ways the topics can be organized though.

I agree. I have noticed that too. I don't really mind though. I know where you guys are. To be honest, I rarely look at the main forum page. I spend 99% of my pinside time in the EM hangout. Just don't have much interest in anything else.

Yet 1 more I get to play when I come see you.

Two excellent pins. Unfortunately you will have to order those plastics from Australia. The repros are excellent quality.

Thanks - do you mean this one...

Luckily they have a small plastics only package and I will ask for a reproduction of the Target Alpha slingshot plastics as they offer something like a repro service...

Congratulations to your North Star... looks beautiful and very interesting!

One of the very best ever. All around great pin. Wish they made an add a ball version.

If there was ever a candidate for add-a-ball this would be it. Shortest ball times ever. But all the roll overs and the skill shot is fun. Today I got all the roll overs and all the specials lit. I got the last special in the middle lit after the ball drained on the far right roll over. My final score was 655. This pin is a pain in the ass to score 1000 on. It is very very challenging.

Thats what makes a great EM great..the challenge...

My Hurdy Gurdy, and Ice Show keep me coming back for more every time...

Never played a NS, but i hope to one of these days..

Congrats on the game....

How does it compare to SC? Fun and enjoyment? Art is personal preference. I have an outside chance of picking one up but the seller has changed his mind!

#2483 10 years ago

I don't have enough games on it yet. I think I had a total of 20 games on it before the game shut off in the middle of a game. Something is shorting out the startup sequence and I am pretty sure I know what it is. I blew a few fuses and need to hit up Radio Shack today for the fuse I don't have a spare of. Ask me this question again in a few days.

Really, wow! I've had some pretty long playing balls on "NS", but don't think I ever got out all the rollovers on my brother's game. A couple of years ago on Super Bowl Sunday, my brother had some guys over and one of them who is a fairly weak player got all the rollovers out. I don't know if he realized it when it happened, but we were all drawn over to the game when we heard the barrage of "pops" coming from the knocker.
On "NS", it is very important to have the kickers set very touchy. You want the ball to be deflected away from the side drains even if it just nicks the slingshot. Also, you want to install nice juicy, bouncy donut rubbers on the outlane posts and center post. Experiment with the pitch too. Usually "NS" plays a little friendlier with a somewhat shallow pitch.

Home Depot had a great selection of fuses. Save some of your blown ones to make circuit breakers (as shown on pinrepair.com) - those will save you lots of blown fuses next time.

#2486 10 years ago

jrpinball: I noticed this about the kickers. I plan to adjust the right kicker to make it more sensitive. I have the pitch set about 4%. I need to experiment and set it to the 3.5% manufactures suggestion.

btw75: Thank you for the tips.

Slam the front, crank the back, and let it eat !

#2488 10 years ago

It was a simple simple fix. (Thank god! *crosses fingers*) When I was starting the game it would send electricity to the secondary start (SB relay) There was a solder loose at the coil. This blew the 5 amp fuse at the transformer and one of the 10 amp fuses at the coin door. Soldered the wire back on the coil. Replaced both fuses and the machine fires up perfectly. I stocked up on 1,5 and 10 amp fuses at radio shack. Now to novus 2 and add a few coats of wax and I am off to the races!

Here are pictures of a Big Casino that I owned about 10 years ago. It looks nicer than it plays. Your hands get worn out grunching the game to keep the balls from draining through the lanes between the flippers.

I likw the spacing in my HG, that seems frustrating enough..

I want it, and i want it now !

never even heard of that title, not once...

Off tho IPDB right now

OK so what gives ? no records matching...

obviously you made this, and it is cool...fill us in !

#2498 10 years ago

That's funny! Its a Williams Straight Flush with a modified backglass and reversed playfield.

#2499 10 years ago

And guessing it might have an electric ball shooter (unless someone has to hide behind the game to shoot the ball?).

I seem to remember someone asking a long time ago about "Reverse" scoring. In other words, counts 9, 8, 7, ....1, 0 instead of 0-9.
