Hi deal plays great. I really like that game

The white-painted ones may have been associated with the wood experiments,

I have played a Gottlieb Totem. It was painted wood, with the black striped shooter lane. Yes it was a SS pin.

I agree. It's one of my favorite pins I've played. It's a keeper for sure.

#1906 6 years ago

Not trying to be a stickler here, just wondering for my own sake of sanity and edification; that's a 1977 Williams BIG Deal, right? ...not a Hi Deal? Still kinda new to the EM landscape, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Mars Trek looks fun - reminds me a little of pinbot with the planets in the playfield.

It's...wait for it...no BIG DEAL. *wah-wah*

My brother has my Mars Trek at his place and its a blast to play. If I ever get the room, it'll come to NJ.

Some of the spaceships remind me of Space 1999 and old Battlestar Galactica.

The Martian woman is just plain sci-fi weird... haha

You have two "HTD"s? Cool!

They are linked for tournament play!

#1916 6 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

One is a sample game, one is a production game. Interestingly, between the score motor switch info in the operator manual, the schematic, and the two games, none of them match each other. The production game has been completely rebuilt and is in the main lineup, while the sample game waits its turn.

#1917 6 years ago

Does the sample game have red inserts where the production game has yellow?

#1918 6 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Does the sample game have red inserts where the production game has yellow?

Nope, no cosmetic differences that I've found. I think the red inserts were used on Neptune maybe?

#1919 6 years ago

I've seen at least one "Hit the Deck" with red inserts on the playfield. I know "Neptune" has them because they are "WOW" lights. I'm not sure if the "HTD" was a sample game or not, but it did have red inserts.

#1920 6 years ago

That's my kind of lineup !

#1921 6 years ago

Was surprised someone brought a Hit the deck to the 2013 York show.
It was in great condition too.

#1923 6 years ago

Yes, "Neptune" does have red inserts because they are "WOW", but I know I did see a "Hit the Deck" with red inserts too. The late Dave Christiansen (not the artist) had one. I'm not sure what happened to that game, but I'm pretty sure it was sold before he passed away. I remember telling him that his game was different from any others I saw previously because it had red inserts. Previous to me pointing that out, he wasn't aware of his game being a variation in that respect.

#1924 6 years ago

Strange! Just looked at "Poseidon" (export version of "Neptune") on IPDB, and it has yellow inserts for the "WOW"s, even though it is an add-a-ball game. So apparently both playfields were made with both red and yellow colored inserts.

Sold an Abra Ca Dabra eight years ago to a guy up in Minneapolis. He wanted a different game so I traded him a nice Royal Flush so I could get my Abra back. It has one slight flaw above the left flipper, slight insert wear, and slight flaking in the backglass but not bad - I will touch-up. Ordering the lower plastics from Pinball Rescue.

While up there why not visit DirtFlipper since I was close? He even threw a pinball get-together . I can tell you his games and the rest of his game room look even better in person. Thanks Dirt! Now I want a Hit the Deck.

Thanks. I just missed the challenge of getting that special lit. Great rule set. And, it was one of the nicest games I've gotten through the doors too - not going to let it go this time.

Anytime you want to get rid of it again Dave just let me know and I will gladly take it off your hands.

Beautiful game you have by the way.

Didn't like the game play (cross between my Kings and Queens and Crosstown which I sold) on Sing Along as much as Kings and Queens. Although I'm kind of biased on Kings and Queens since it was one of the first games I scored a replay on as a kid.

Sold it to Dirt!

Yup, you nailed it. "Sing Along" is basically a cross between "Kings & Queens" and "Cross Town". It's a very pretty game though and would go great between the other two!

WoW! To have the EM's that some of you guys have and all looking so awesome - I'm extremely envious and thrilled that these machines have found such wonderful homes. As some of you may know, I just bought my 1st EM 2 days ago, a KOD with a pretty rough cabinet but a beautiful playfield. I'm lovin' it. Would be thrilled to have a second one - one of these days.

I'm pretty much technically/mechanically challenged - not a good trait in this hobby - so I need to pick up local and verify it plays right, or find the right seller that I can trust. But all's good for now

If you ever have a problem with fixing an EM there are plenty of folks round these parts that will help you navigate the waters... You are in the right place...

Your KoD cabinet is plenty fine. Lots more life left in it, and they come a lot worse.

Someone is happy ^^ Nice Sing along DF

#1944 6 years ago

Gotta respect Sing Along! It is the current #1 EM on here, after all.

Speaking of which, I see that it now requires 3 votes to get an EM ranked instead of 1. Good to see that. Thanks, Robin!

Be careful what you wish for Ice9ers...They multiply like rabbits. Most EMs can be had for 500-2000. Typical ones are 700-800 dollars. Projects will be 200-600 dollars. Top machines will be 1500-2000 with a few titles topping out at 2500 ish. This makes buying EMs an extreme bargain considering 90's to present machines are several thousand dollars.

Hey Hoov...NICE SCORE! That Abra is super cherry! I thought mine was nice but your's takes the cake!

Looking good there Hoov.

Here is my smart assed comment.
Hoov you are out of space, some of us EM guys should drop by. We will help with removing some of those old pinball machines out of that cramped space that you have. LOL

Have Fun!

I got dibs on that Kings and Queens.

I know Hoov said that would be the last pin he would sell but I just love saying it.

It may be tough to find a backglass, but you've got yourself a Wing Ding! As far as gameplay is concerned some of the Williams machines of that era are as good as any, and they are very well built besides. Solid. Good luck with the restore!

This game is fairly rare, less than 700 made. It may be hard to find a replacement backglass, maybe you will find one, it is possible. Keep us posted on the restoration, as we find this EM stuff interesting.

Rats, o-din beat me to it.
