Thanks, John! Any tips on re-adhering them?
Quoted from Arcade:Steve at Pinball Resource has those caps.
PBR will be your best resource for new EM parts so check with them first for all your new part needs.

Um.. spiral nails?
Quoted from John_in_NC:Um.. spiral nails?
Yeah, the nails you pull out should be spiral shafted. You can reuse them or buy new from PBR. Don't use any adhesives.
Notice a common theme here? PBR, PBR, PBR. EM machines and PBR go together very well.
Quoted from John_in_NC:Um.. spiral nails?
Do they call these screws? In all honesty, I've never heard of a spiral nail before. Am I going to be able to pry them out like I would a normal nail?
Just looked 'em up and it doesn't look like they have as much tooth as a screw. I'm guessing these should pry out alright (assuming this is similar to what I'm working with on a '73 Williams cab).

They are actually pretty easy to get out once you get them started. "Unscrew" them by grabbing the head with a pliers. Of course you will want new ones because you might chew up the heads.

I pull them with a small claw hammer after prying the rail with the plastic putty knives (tapped under the rail with the same hammer) creates a little grab space. I rarely damage a nail, end up polishing the heads and reusing them most the time.

That game looks sweet! Unusual for a Gottlieb design, but fun nonetheless. Double BG animation and superb art!

of Diamonds"!

HomerWedgehead "Spin A Card"! The thought occurred to me many times, but this is the first time I've seen it done.

If anyone is interested I am picking up a gtb top score 2 player. it is from a family friend
from what i have seen it looks pretty nice. I can work out a good deal for anyone here.
I think top score / 300 is a pretty good multi player game
anyone in the SE Pa area interested let me know I will get some pictures this weekend.

300 was the 1st game I bought when I entered this crazy hobby called pinball......... Like the backglass animation on this one. Had to sell to make room for wedgies
I just got it for a good price, works needs a good shop job
i am not into multi players so i will pass it along to a pinsider for a good price or trade for a wedgehead/project

Very cool of you! I wish I were closer.
Not trying to make any money just did not want a flipper to get it.
if i don't get any intrerest, I will shop it out and play it for a while until can find it a new home.
I had a very nice Top Score for quite awhile. It was a very fun game. It was my second pin some 20 years ago.
Here's my recent CL score

Nice get, W2W! Cool lookin' playfield. (Is that a slot machine reel in the back!??! NEAT!) How's it play? Does it need any work to get it goin'?

I just hope Pafasa's as happy with his as I am with mine.
To me, it is one of the finest machines of that era.
Hit the Deck. Lots of roll overs, really nice.
I noticed the Strange World in the 2nd photo. Either I am learning more about Gottliebs', great stuff! Or it is kind of sad, that with just a glimpse of a pin that one can recognize it? Tomatoe-Tomatto.
OK.
Time to post here with my new 1976 Gottlieb Sure Shot I just finished working on for the most part. More details/pictures of this machine here:

Dirt, Nicest Hit the Deck I have seen yet.
Ken I love that Sure Shot. Nice cosmetic updates and touch-ups. The playfield reminds me of an updated '65 Bank-A-Ball.

Thanks Rat,
Personally I think Sure Shot is a better game because of the Kickout Holes that score you the big points and Specials. Really a satisfying shot when you pop that ball in the hole! Bank a Ball has the cool mechanical Backglass which is awesome but I buy pins for Gameplay and not just for cool mechanical gizmos. I also prefer 3" Flipper games.
Ken
I like 2" and 3" games. Depends on the game really. I like the idea of 3 inch bats on the Sure Shot and those kick out holes. I also love the backglass all lit up. I might search for that title later on in 2014. They do seem to pop up a lot on ebay.

You can make this game super fast as no drops to worry about. Thinking about yellow dot coils and a high tap. This and Bank Shot are fun, fast, games.
I have been going through this thread for the last two days and loving it! Seeing all these amazing EM's restored to full glory is beautiful.
Wanted to share what I have since I hadn't seen it previously here, a Williams '74 Dealer's Choice (I believe someone showed the 2 player version High Ace which has a totally different color scheme). This is my first full size pin, the first one I bought is a Bally '77 home edition Fireball which is SS.
The backglass has some serious flaking (which drives me absolutely crazy) so I've been on the hunt for a replacement or repro translite. Other than that it plays great and the playfield is in fairly good shape. I am a newbie to rehab with pins so all I have done so far is replace bulbs, clean the cab up good and tweaked a few switches to improve play.
I bought this one because it was a good price for someone shopping on a budget (and it had pretty solid play reviews on the ipdb), but I've really grown to love it. I'll bet I've put 300 - 400 plays on it myself in the last two months.
I'm loving all the tips for shopping these machines you've all been handing out... keep them coming!
Also, I should have taken the glass off before I snapped these pics, but I didn't think about it last night.

My first pin was ALMOST a Dealers Choice but at the last minute it became a Williams Space Odyssey.
Well, once you get the EM bug your toast. I started with my first EM over 2 years ago and have owned 13 since!

Quoted from Pafasa:Anyone here have a Big Daddy Schematic?
I believe I do. I'll have to open up the goody bag that came with mine and see. It doesn't look too bad considering it's age. You have got love those colors! Such a good looking machine. Shouldn't take you to long to get it up and running.
Yeah, mine came with all the literature. Just let me know what you need. Robert reproduced the plastics and made stencils for the cabinet too, so those are readily available. And I think so is the backglass if you are not happy with yours. But from what I can see, it doesn't look too bad.

Nice pin Popeboy.
My brother and I have been on an EM Bonanza lately. We picked up a Lucky Ace in a garage sale for $25
It cleaned up perfectly and plays like a champ. Very fast paced game and we love it. However it did not have a backglass at all. Mike Pacack had this very worn High Ace backglass laying around, so we put it in as it is better than no backglass at all.
High Ace was never actually produced by Williams at all, so it is kind of a rarity to have it at all.
Anyway, here is a quick photo of it.
I will post our other finds soon. We picked up an awesome Gottlieb 2001 for $50. A fantastic Hot Tip for $220 and a Flip a Card for $150

Holy deal! Who sells a pinball in any shape for $25?? (unless it is one collector hooking up another)
That's fantastic, playfield looks really nice!

Yeah! You're full in now!
Quoted from DirtFlipper:Fresh off a rebuild before sliding into the lineup. This is a production version; I have a sample game to do later.
Very nice work Dirt. Lot's of shiny metal and bright paint! Anyone would be happy to have that game in their collection. Low plays too - common for the end of the em era............

Put in my order for some Orange Dot Flipper Coils at PBR and can't wait to get them installed. They sure speed up a game as well as make the Flippers better.
