Sold a Spirit of ‘76 to help fund and free up the space for an Olympic Hockey.

It was in someone’s home for a long time and was fully operating, just dirty with dry rotting bands.

I could not understand the high reviews Olympic Hockey had received. Guess I have a preference for Gottlieb’s, but do love my Aztec. Williams spinners were the best.

The Olympic playfield in photographs looks kinda sparse. I mean, score a goal with rollovers?

Cleaned the playfield and all playfield coil sleeves.

Played 20-30 games. It’s set liberal with highly forgiving tilt. That left drain is a monster. But with minimal tilt this thing is a nudgers dream!

The rink and pick in the backglass is cool and gives an effect of real depth when viewing the machine in low light at 6-10 feet away. Really crazy. But when playing you can’t look at the backglass or you will lose the ball. Plays that fast.

To score a goal you have to move the puck 10 steps. First 5-6 steps come quick and easy but the last 5 steps are harder. Closer to the net harder to score.

When you get the goal by actually getting all the rolling overs with a single ball roll is very cool!

Great table/logic design. Shame they didn’t have higher production numbers. A simple artwork change to soccer or other re-theme would be great. I don’t mind pointy people artwork but did they run out of pointy people and get an overwhelming good deal on green paint?

Soccer has a similar layout with advancing to goals. A few years earlier though.

Nice machine even with pointy people. It must have been a common thing in the early 70s

One of our favorite EM's, ours is in the queue for total restoration. New backglass is in route.

I know what you were suggesting. I was trying to state the unique nature of the table design with the rollovers. Pin designers would re-use or re-hash previous table designs such as Target Alpha/Gold Strike, same table different art.

Just like the subject says. Show us your EMs! Show us those shiny Ems that you spent hours restoring. Show us the rare EM that you spent 10 years tracking down a pristine example of. Show us that game that you played as a child/teenager/young adult that you just had to have. Best of all show us your EM pride!

Hello Everyone. Here is my 1964 Midway Flying Turns pinball machine just finished a complete restoration. I unfortunately no longer have room for it this was a three year restoration so it’s listed on Pinside. Hope you enjoy the pictures thanks.

I wasn't criticizing the condition of FD. Only commenting on the fact that it is a 4 player and the head stands taller than the rest.

I've always appreciated a row of wedgeheads and two player Gottliebs where the heads all are the same height.

If it didn't need to be shipped, I'd be discussing.
I have a Champ, and would be nice with F.T.'s
by it's side.. Nice machine!
Edit: What the hell! This isn't right.
This was meant for the Flying Turns..

I'll be damn. 31" from 1962-1968 for Bally single players.
I'm sure that has to be accurate, but I'm going to check
the front cabinet's height and compare to how far up off
the floor as to the 70s Ballys.. Thanks..

Wow, gorgeous car! What is that exactly? It looks fairly similar (at the front) to the car in the backglass for Diner . Which I had thought was a 57 Chevy Bel Air Sport. That's a bit of a guess on my part so I'm trying to get more specific. Thinking of getting a diecast to make my own topper. Love your paint job.

I’ve been to the PHOF twice this week and here are a few that I really enjoyed. Even on a busy day, these great games are usually open and a bargain at 0.25 a play.

Super rare 1971 Bally Round Up. 70 produced, never mass produced and probably only a dozen are known to exist. Design credit goes to Ted Zale but this *could* have been a Harry Williams design since it re-uses the Skill Spin Mystery Stop Bonus mechanism that Harry included in his Feb 1971 Bally Firecracker.

Restoration almost complete and Round Up will be in the Free Play area at Allentown 2022 on Friday May 6th only.

Great post. When doing an Old Chicago PF swap, I had 15 busted/cracked posts, some obliterated like yours. My bet is that the same line worker built these PFs, applying way too much pressure when drilling. Who knows, but it's odd that I've only seen this on Bally EMs of the period.

It had to be something like that or just a crap batch. My Bon Voyage has the same posts just the year before and none are cracked. I also had a Captain Fantastic from the year later and no cracks.

Lots of brittle posts during that era. Did a couple of Bally "Flip Flop"s recently, and many posts were broken. Gottlieb "Sure Shot"/"Bank Shot" also seem to often have posts which are broken or break easily.

That game refresh looks great! Nice job.

My Sure Shot definitely had damaged posts. All of them pretty much were toast or had been replaced previously and got mismatched colours and whatnot. I put new ones in and it looks great again.
