JR, I found it in NY in some guys barn. The apron was pretty rusty and the legs were pretty toasted. I was lucky to salvage them since they are different bolt spacing than typical pinball legs.

There was one for sale at one of the Saratoga shows. It wasn't up and working. Thought maybe you got it there.
I used to see one on location back in the '70s, but it was always out of order.

I completely understand why it would be out of order frequently. There are three metal fingers under the apron that control the flippers and ball drop that make contact with a circuit board similar to some of the Chicago coin games circuits. If those fingers no longer make contact the flippers and ball drop don’t work. I could see how they could become easily misaligned as a result of the movement of the apron because people are moving the joysticks forward and backward trying to shake it.

Blue note! Nice. That’s at the top of my wish list.

In my area, there was a Zayre's department store that had several GTB games - Play Ball, Royal Guard, and Spooksville... those games were distributed by Michaels Vending... a great outfit that ALWAYS kept their games at a high playing level. I played Spooksville sparingly. It worked great, just didn't pique my interest enough to play it more than a few times here and there if I was able to sell some racked up free games on the other pins. The ability to "shake" the game was a pretty cool feature, but viewing the game through the odd-ball cabinet and angle gave me a headache after a while.

I still remember the jingle, "Be-fore you go back to school, go to Zayre's".

Awesome restoration. Better than new.
Just brought this one home after grabbing it off Facebook Marketplace for a decent price.
Got a few startup issues and the playfield needs some attention, although it’s not as worn as a lot of others that I’ve seen. Really loved this pin when I was a teenager hanging at the local mall arcade.

How does the ball respond on this playfield compared to an original?
Quoted from Playdium:How does the ball respond on this playfield compared to an original?
In my experience they are fast with tons of ball spin until 100 plays or so. Then it settles down to nice consistent play.

Does ball swirl become visible on the clear coat after 100 plays or any visible wear?

I read that from a post you made a while back and looked at my games. I concur. My cleared playfields games are consistent and fun.
I have no ball swirls on the three playfields I have cleared.
I just finished a major refresh on this Gottlieb Buccaneer playfield, sample 1077S. This game does not seem to get much love on this site, but every example I have seen has a lot of wear and tear.
This one is not perfect but it cleaned up pretty well. No, those are not LEDs! It’s amazing what clean bulbs, clean plastics, and a clean playfield will do.

Nice job, it looks great.
Quoted from Playdium:How does the ball respond on this playfield compared to an original?
Plays fast but not markedly different to a clean & waxed playfield. If the flippers were dc, you’d notice it more I think but these old ems don’t have the kick a modern pin does.

Beautiful game. I love Buccaneer.

Was that from the flea market?
I saw one there, but the backglass was trash.

That's actually not a bad playing pin..
I keep Hollywood set up because quite a few like it..
Good Job!
The last couple days has been a little wet, so I went through the Hyde Park which is
one of the very few Gottlieb true 2 Player AABs..
She plays nice and was a breeze to work on. Didn't have to make multiple trips to the
barn hunting down parts..
The backglass is tight but missing a little paint here and there, so I'll be clear vinyling
it and then touching her up..

I restored a Mayfair a few years back. The unusual gameplay is fun for a change of pace. Last Roy Parker art package.

Nice job on that Mayfair! I didn't know that was Roy Parker's last..
This Hyde Park's a sample game, and I'm fairly confident that all U.S.
version Hyde Parks were samples. This one's 1014 S
This was the first true 2 Player Gottlieb AAB I went through..
The only other was a C.C. Bronco, but for C.C., a true 2 Player AAB
Hula Hula is the one I wouldn't mind stumbling upon..

No I had a pinside ad up for a Space Odyssey and we met up at Pinfest for me to purchase
Broke down my 9’ Brunswick Gold Crown Pool Table and moved to storage at my house so I can redo my Game room. I shed a tear or two but the machines won out.
Got my red gloss floor painted along the long wall. Going to have a Wedgehead wall along the shorter wall when I finish painting the rest of the floor.

Very cool lineup of machines! One day I would love to have 5 or 8 machines lined up along a wall in my basement like yours. Very cool. I think getting a bunch of EMs is my only shot at it, given the price escalation of anything with circuit boards. You red floor paint is looking great too.

Thanks. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time but the pool table kept me from it. I didn’t want to get rid of it but I didn’t know that if I was capable of taking it apart but I got it done. All the games are now level and pitched at 6 degrees. Now I just need to do some cosmetic work on a few cabinets.
Nice when you set your mind to something and do it. I started my collection in January of 2018 so just keep adding a machine every so often and you’ll soon have a cool collection and you’ll never get tired of playing them. I’ll have the rest of the floor painted today and post a pic tomorrow.
Sea_Wolf, that sounds like a great strategy. I've got 2 machines right now. I was thinking just last night how much fun it would be to add a couple of cheap EMs and then some cheap early solid state machine to get up to 5. It would be a lot of fun to invite people over and have little tournaments. My space is limited until my wife closes up her florist shop in the unfinished part of our basement. Then I'll be able to establish my lineup! haha.

So how much space does a disassembled pool table take up? Too many family members vetoed my pool table's removal from our basement, but I hadn't considered the disassembly route.

Quite a bit, especially a 9 foot one like mine. There’s a lot to them. You can break them down to:
6 - cushioned rails 4.5 feet long
2 - 9’ side rails
2- short end rails
2or3 heavy slate pieces. Mine had 3 that are extremely heavy. Need a roll cart with a back to it
1 end ball storage rack
2- 9’ side frame pieces
2 - shorter end frame pieces
2x4 cross braces
2 base pieces with adjustable feet about 2’x4’
1 Base cross brace about 2’x5’
And lots of bolts and screws.
The biggest pain is moving the slate. Mine fit just perfect leaning against a wall behind my furnace. The other issue is finding a place to lay the 9 foot pieces.
We played the heck out my table for 14 years but not much the last few and I’m really glad I did it. It was just becoming a table for pinball parts.
Quoted from Sea_Wolf:especially a 9 foot one like mine
If I remeber correctly,
I had a 7ft table
and its slate was one piece (and was not honeycombed)
It was a bear to move.
