The last Bally EM.

I found this 1977 Williams Big Deal on Pinside Marketplace. I have been looking for one for about a decade but nothing ever popped up locally. It appears to be HUO based on very little wear on the machine. 36k plays, and everything worked with the exception of a few bulbs from the first start. Thanks to JethroP in SJC for a super clean example of Big Deal and a very easy sale and delivery.

36,000 plays is not home use only by any means. It is a testament to how well some operators took care of their games and that it wasn't abused after it did go to home use.

Nonetheless, a nice condition game is a nice condition game. Enjoy

Looks like it has been totally restored. A great game I have played it at the Ann Arbor Pinball Museum. I wonder why the production was so low, just 300 were made. My guess is that the arcade owners wanted solid state games.

That cabinet looks huge, or is it the photo?

Standard size EM cabinet in photos. I think Gottlieb started using that size cabinet in 1976. Even for wedgeheads.

Probably spent a hunderd hours alone on the playfield. Autumn wholesale painting is close to original colours as possible. A little bit of the lettering did need reworking. Some areas in the Atlantic ocean were missing! Lol. I am happy with the results, fun player as well.

Woah.. Really great work on the satellite! It’s probably the house favorite woodrail to play in my little collection.

Did you clear the playfield after the touch ups? Also, did you remake the “A” and “R” plastic lane guides at the bottom? Mine are shot. Yours look so new.

It absolutely is cleared with water_based urethane.
. This was so rough it couldn't be without. The inserts were quite sunken and shrunk, so those were reglued. The lower guides are original. The 'R' has a slight crack with superglue behind it. The whole thing is far from perfect, but started with a decent, complete cabinet and mechanicals. Backglass and plastics from Shay. Love the light up monkeys on the backglass.

If so, I submit you mine: 1965 Bally Band Wagon. Released in March 1965, this was the current Bally pin available when I made my appearance in early April 1965. This example was purchased from the Replay Foundation in Pittsburgh and sports serial number BW 1601. Being # 601 out of 1840 made (33% into production) between March and May, it is quite possible that this Band Wagon and I share the same "birth" date.

When I get around to this restoration, I envision a cabinet repaint and commission a BGresto backglass.

I have a 1965 Bally (Aces High). I haven't shopped and played it yet, but I
like it because it's in nice shape and has nice multiple backglass colors..
Of course there's no reason for it not to be, but what makes Band Wagon
fond to you? It brings back memories?

Since my first days of playing as a kid in the mid 70’s, I always preferred Bally games to all the others and my 32 years of collecting has been mainly Bally. I branched out to collect 60’s and early 70’s Bally’s several years ago and always wanted the Bally game that was being made when I was born in early April 1965. Never played or saw one before and it was a no-brainer to buy the first one available.

3 Jokers, See Saw and Snow Queen would be my birthday games. If I had more room it would be fun to hunt for examples of each. Would be kind of a neat collection within the collection.

I love Sunshine. Its the most challenging game in my line up.

You have the normal rollovers to unlight, which takes some serious accuracy with the tiny flippers and their wide stance, but also have to avoid the 3 gobble holes. She has a rating system that's shared by only a few other games. She sometimes throws you a bone with the unique spinning backglass disk to randomly get another number on the top rollovers and the gobble holes. There's a rare "star" replay feature that I've only gotten a couple times. Her artwork is gorgeous.

I've only lit all 14 numbers twice. I've only gotten the 2nd highest rating once, never the 1st or 3rd. I've only achieved replays for score twice. But still have the desire to play yet another game.

She's usually the first to get played when powering up the arcade with the hopes of maybe today is when I get over 7mil and the genius rating. Or perhaps this will be the game that I complete all 14 numbers and get a crapload of replays from the "all white numbers special" and the "all red numbers special" alternating with playfield switches. Or this has got to be the game when I max out the lamp scoring and top it off with the star special.

The hole game tilt is something that takes some getting used too. All my other games only can the current ball not the entire game for f@$k sake! Good incentive to NOT tilt.

I think another reason I think it is so great is the appreciation I have for the designer Wayne. Today's machines have entire teams...dozens of people working on them to bring them to the public. Sunshine was one of over 200 games he designed and one of the 167 that went to production. Not only designed but white boarded, wired, tested, tweaked, all by him then sent to the artist. All with 1950s electronics. He came up with the title while listening to "you are my sunshine my only sunshine" playing on the radio as he worked.

I don't think Sunshine will ever leave the collection.

Yes, Wayne Neyens (pictured on my avatar) was the best. God love him, he's still with us as of this writing.

Todd Tuckey has a very nice, all original Jungle Queen for sale. Cabinet is immaculate, playfield has two small wear spots near the kickout holes that his guy is willing to repaint. has been in a home since 1978.
