Also picked up this woodrail Universe for $50 . My wife and favorite mother in law spotted it in a parking lot while I was inside the store. They wanted me see what the guy was going to do with it. So we waited for him and said it hasn’t worked for years and had no fixing skills. So 10 minutes later and we’re heading home with another pin. Got it going but needs all flippers rebuilt. Don’t know if I’ll keep it yet.

Quoted from Ballypin:

Per my calculations, that room has 2 more walls.
I'll go a step further and make more room for you by taking that nasty EBD of your hands !

I appreciate the offer to take my junk EBD to make more room but its spoken for when that day comes! I know I have another wall but the wife says we have enough. we'll see

Now for the tricky part - how to tell her she is oh so wrong ...

Wow, what a great find! Congrats.

Quoted from bigguybbr:

Just picked up a 1965 Williams Big Chief.
-Play field is in good shape save for flipper rub from the left flipper. Needs to be cleaned and waxed, but otherwise pretty good.
-Plastics are pretty good as well. I need to make a new Score Selector wheel out of a 4" plexi disc and some laser printed water transfer decals since the mylar on the bottom of the original is badly peeling and the disc is warped from baking over a bulb. There is a thin plexi sandwiched in the middle of the right plastics that is banged up and needs to be replaced. Pop bumper caps are faded and will be swapped. Roll over switches are faded and need to get swapped.
-Back glass is in pretty decent shape but needs to be sprayed ASAP before it loses more paint.
-Cabinet is rough. It's going to be sanded and repainted once I go through and give it a thorough cleaning. Will need to make some stencils since none seem to be available for this.
-Mechanically most everything is working. Machine scores 11 points instead of 10 while playing. Reels are buzzy. Someone cut out the 5" bell knocker for 100 point shots for some reason. Removed the whole bracket, but left the relay?[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Your machine got me thinking about the history of WMS 4 player machines, since I don't ever remember seeing or playing very many multi-player games from WMS, if any from the 60s. Looks like there were a dozen or so 4 player pins from Williams, dating back to 1955; I had no idea. Nice looking game, love the theme.

Just got it playing correctly. Picked it up about 3 weeks ago. It had changed hands a couple times and worked about 10 years ago, is what I was told when I paid 300.
My kids can't stop playing it for a new high score and to break 100,000 points.

Like a new family member.

Great game. I had one a long time ago and would like to find another one.

#12608 33 days ago

Surprised to just notice Card Whiz is under 7,000 plays. I highly doubt it was rolled over based on condition. Meter still works. This was operated in the Twin Cities and going to upload op decal soon.

My goal is for this machine to see more play in this millennium than when it was made.

Better get to it....

Congrats!

Great game. Ours is a true player’s version. Any chance I could get a clear straight on picture of the “Game Over” text? I’m trying to make a mask for my glass where it’s all flaked away.

Thanks!

Just been kind of catching up as I have been away for a few years but when were games 20 cents? Check out the pictures of the Pioneer with the 20 cent amount. I did play a pin when it was a dime and I have seen one pin with a nickel, dime & quarter when games were a quarter but never 20 cents. Is this something I just missed.

Simple, yet very attractive machine.
I wish there was an add-a-ball version.

Have a line on a HUO Aztek. What’s a fair price? Needs minor repair owner is not technical, his father bought in 76 for $750 so the story goes. Going to fix maybe buy it but I’m a Gottlieb guy.

I’m always willing to overpay a little if it’s a game I want so I’d probably give up to $700 for it but maybe offer $500. I’m betting he’s going to want more after mentioning that he paid $750 for it 44 years ago.

It always seems to even out, I got a steal on a really beautiful Space Mission for $400 and then probably overpaid a little on an eBay auction on an Aladdin’s Castle in fair shape for $910.

From the appearance I would guess it is not HUO. The condition of the interior, especially of the coin door, would tell more definitively.

His recollection of the year they bought it and the price paid both could be off a bit.

$750 could be fair for that example. Probably less based on true condition of the interior and operating condition of the game.

Passed on it I'd call it above average shape but 50K games on counter says it's much more than HUO. Got it playing advised owner to take no less than 750 for it.

You could have shopped it for me and played it for a while. I wouldn’t have complained.

I figured with my luck it would catch fire or all the paint to come off if I tried to clean the cabinet. I figured do no harm was the best approach.

Really I was more concerned about the Lightning backglass flaking some more. Now that I was truly tempted to spray before driving it to PA.
