Quoted from 85vett:

Appreciate it. I guess I'm just not looking enough as I check craigslist only a couple times a week and I never check E-bay for pins. I've been watching the project thread though even though I'd rather pay a bit more for nice examples. I'll keep the hunt going

I find that going to pinball expos, playing/attending tourneys, or events are a great way to network as well. Just letting the word out, to people in this hobby, that you’re looking, is another way to potentially find what you’re after.

Quoted from Murphdom:

Im on Facebook strictly for pinball and arcade stuff. I only have two friends on there. Bob Cunningham the shipper and a guy who does chrome work.

I may have to join up just for that same reason now.

HAHA. You need to check the lists every HOUR.

1. Setup a Craigslist account, then setup an alert for the word pinball within 100 miles of your town.
2. When pinball leagues start up again join a local league. Network with other collectors. Most pins are sold/traded between collectors and are never posted on Pinside, Craigslist, Facebook, etc.
3. Join Facebook but don’t share your city, job, etc. Setup a Facebook marketplace alert for pinball within 100 miles of your city.
4. Check your emails and Facebook and hope that you’re lucky enough to be the first person to respond to an ad. I got a lot of great deals this way, but I was always checking.

I’m sorry if I’m in the wrong category ! It’s been a while since I’ve been on this forum. If this post offends anyone I’ll take it down. I had restored this sheriff a few years back and now, I am relocating and must sell it. It works as it should and looks very nice. I can take more pic’s. If there is any interest please message me. Thanks...Doggy

I'd suggest creating a for sale add with the price and your location.

1964 Bally "Bus Stop".

#12566 3 years ago

I thought at first that they were Gottlieb, but then I noticed the pressed on spacers which Bally used. The artist is obviously Art Stenholm.

Hey all, I just picked up a 1961 gottlieb egg head and can’t figure out how to get the lockdown bar off. Is there a latch? It’s not like any of my other machines. Thabks!

There should be two wing nuts you can unscrew off the bottom of the lock down bar if it’s like my Flipper Cowboy.

Got an Air Aces for $250, was told it lights up but won't start a game. Backglass is perfect, playfield and cabinet are pretty good. Moderate planking over most of the playfield, and the top has some pretty bad paint loss in a couple spots I'm gonna attempt to touch up. Sat outside under an awning in the hot and dry city of El Centro, CA for a few years so it's really dusty inside, but not a lot of rust. I haven't played this one before so I'm gonna get it fully working and cleaned up, then move it inside the house and play the hell out of it for a while and decide if I'm gonna keep it or trade it. Does anybody have spare instruction cards they could sell me?

Wanted to share a recent addition.
Really feel lucky to have acquired this game.
Needed just a couple minor things and a few minor touch-ups, but overall its looking and playing really well!

After going through the mechanicals, touching up the backglass and playfield, and partially rebuilding the flippers, last night I officially introduced Juke Box into the lineup. Fun, groovy pin!

I'm sure mostly because they're Chicago Coin, but I consider (a well tuned) Juke Box/Sound Stage
an under rated pin..

Here is my very nice Aztec machine. Plays great! Wish I could say I did the work, but i didn't.
I bought it from a fellow Pinsider who lives about 3 miles from me. I had to have a game that I could play while working on my Laguna Beach.

Another Pinsider local to me. Touchups and clearing it. I'm weak on playfield touchups and color matching. Everything else I can handle.

Here's my latest acquisition. I've wanted this one a long time. Playfield and backglass are beautiful. I've done some cleaning work and there are some very minor touchups then I'll wax and be done. I will be replacing the broken bumper skirts and the faded caps. The cab has been painted over and I'll repaint that in the future

Agreed. Would love to know why the paint on 99% of OC cabinets faded horribly over time. Working on one now.

Quoted from Dono:

Fading happens when pigments in the paint responsible for holding the color come in contact with a substance that breaks down that pigment such as light (electric or natural,) ozone, or oxygen
certain colors like pink and yellow and other light colors have a weak pigment load so they fade faster.

Check out the Old Chicago forum, there was a repainted cabinet with a change in the art work.

Just picked up a 1965 Williams Big Chief.
-Play field is in good shape save for flipper rub from the left flipper. Needs to be cleaned and waxed, but otherwise pretty good.
-Plastics are pretty good as well. I need to make a new Score Selector wheel out of a 4" plexi disc and some laser printed water transfer decals since the mylar on the bottom of the original is badly peeling and the disc is warped from baking over a bulb. There is a thin plexi sandwiched in the middle of the right plastics that is banged up and needs to be replaced. Pop bumper caps are faded and will be swapped. Roll over switches are faded and need to get swapped.
-Back glass is in pretty decent shape but needs to be sprayed ASAP before it loses more paint.
-Cabinet is rough. It's going to be sanded and repainted once I go through and give it a thorough cleaning. Will need to make some stencils since none seem to be available for this.
-Mechanically most everything is working. Machine scores 11 points instead of 10 while playing. Reels are buzzy. Someone cut out the 5" bell knocker for 100 point shots for some reason. Removed the whole bracket, but left the relay?

I have been picking up wedge heads, one a month now since May and the wall is now full. Team One is the AAB of Abra Ca Dabra. I restored the Abra for a good friend and he found me a Volley and will do the exchange soon.
