I agree with that, so is the EM market!

Oh shush! lol
you can tell by the two coin slots
Actually, my daughter was astonished that you knew the machine by just seeing that small area of two stripes on the face.

I've seen my share of both versions. Should have known the replay version by the coin slots.

So when are we going to see the rest?
call me crazy. did a 13 hour round trip for this major project.
so much wrong but been chasing a kewpie doll for over 30 years and see this as a challenging project.
woodrails don't show up too often in australia.
will get a ground up restoration over the coming 12 months.
nothing here that can't be saved and fixed

Nice. Well if you ever come across an extra sling plastic for the right side let me know because mine has a crack in the Fun Park that is currently in my line up.

Fun Land is a very underrated machine! I love the light animation in the middle of the playfield and the spinner point lights! Best of all is the moving SPECIAL with each point
Yeah the spinners in Fun Land are really cool in the way they score based on where they stop rather than how hard you rip it. The roving Special and the spinning wheel lights make for a real frenzy when you get to that stage of the game. Agree this is a unique and under rated game.
Normally I have a self imposed ban on pinball machines in the house outside of the game room. I am out of room and the garage is hot in the summer, so Spanish Eyes found its way into my guest bedroom. It actually looks kind of good there, and is close by my home office while I'm still telecommuting!

Will do.

I've just gotten it going, but haven't shopped it yet. I'm liking the rule set and the combination of skill and randomness.

At this recall, the playfield could not be saved anymore.
I rebuilt it.

Weird for me to see kewpie doll with metal side rails and painted head only ever see the wood rail version .
Quoted from Mcshaney:Weird for me to see kewpie doll with metal side rails and painted head only ever see the wood rail version .
it has been 'modified' was originally a woodrail.
Cosmic Pinball was made by Briarwood which was a division of Brunswick. They made several models of home pinball machines in the late 70's - early 80's. The models each had different artwork screen printed on plexiglass for the backglass and playfield cover. The playfield graphics were decals if I recall. The playfield layouts were identical on each model. There wasn't alot to shoot for, a center rollover, 2 pop bumpers, 2 kickers, a center target and a couple of rebound switches.
We had the Skate King model that we got for Christmas. I believe my parents got it at Sear's or Montgomery Wards. It was one of the solid state models. We played the heck out of it for several years. The ball shooter broke and unfortunately a few years after these were produced, Briarwood shut down and replacement parts were no longer available. With a little McGyvering, we could still get the ball to launch in order to play it. We ended up giving it to another family with a bunch of kids when we outgrew it. If memory serves me right, the hardwood playfield showed very little wear after all the play we put it through. These pins were not full size, they were maybe 3/4 scale.
These are listed in the Internet Pinball Database, search for Briarwood.
This is my Gold Rush (2nd). I had some fun with it and created the side-art. I went with polar opposite colors that the original art. Some say "Sacrilege", but beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I thought one of the big companies made a couple of machines with both wood and metal rails .

Kewpie is one of my favorites, fun game and rolling the ball off the tip of the flipper and up the side roll over takes practice but the shot of the game when mastered. I like the game so much I have 2 1/2 of them.
But I'm sure you're aware the Kewpie is in the wrong cabinet, it is a true woodrail.
I also have a Hi Diver, great game too, Plastics, backglass and spinning disc is all available.
Good pick up!!

Actually.. 5 pins = 5 digits = 100,000 possible numbers from 00,000-99,999. There are 5 X 9 = 45 possible combinations of numbers containing 4 5s. (05555, 15555, 25555,35555,45555,65555,75555,85555,95555...50555,51555,52555.....so on and so on to...55559. making that 100,000/45 or 1 in 2,222.22222
One might argue 55555 qualifies as having 4/5 5s making the odds 1 in 2,173.91304 but that would be over thinking it wouldn't it? LOL
Here my Royal Flush

Yep, you nailed it.
Quoted from EJS:Have been moving some of the games around. Still too lazy to pull Big Shot away from the 80's games. Someday I'll relocate it.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Nice collection. The sooner the Big Shot gets away from the Nugent the better it will be.
games that go around, sold this about 3 years ago.
now back home, found it local and have mentioned previously woodrails are extremely difficult to find here in australia.
so this makes it 3 woodies in 2 weeks.
got it as it's different. plan to put hot flipper coils in it, have the playfield cleaned and cleared.
have also ordered a repro backglass.

Were are you all finding your EM machines? I'm not on Facebook and really don't want to join, but I have heard it was a decent source. I've been looking out for a couple EM's for a couple years now and have even put out some WTB adds. Really been wanting a nice "300" and Space Mission but have several others in my wishlist. The look is fun to a point but after multiple years and not running into a single one on my list has been pretty discouraging.

There are a couple of Dallas based Facebook groups and pins tend to sell quickly in these groups. Quite a few em projects are posted here.

I have the same problem as you although I have seen 300 and Space Mission pop up somewhat frequently around here with a wide price range.
With all that is going on right now, the pin market seems to be really weird. Maybe it’s because EMs seem to be more popular with an older crowd and people are just being careful? I don’t know. I check 5 or 6 sources daily and when one does come up it goes quick quick quick.
I remain convinced that pinball shows are the best place to buy and sell. Easy transaction for the seller and you can have your pick of games to play before making a pick. Unfortunately they’re not happening right now either.

I’m not on Facebook either, don’t want to be and I get your frustration. Of the 4 EMs I own, 3 have come from EBay and 1 from Craigslist. It seems like before the coronavirus hit this spring there were a lot more reasonably priced EMs for sale especially on Craigslist. Now it’s dead as can be in the cities within a 3 hour drive.
What’s worked for me is scouring EBay 2-3 times a day and doing the same with Craigslist in the cities that are a drivable distance away. For me that’s Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Nashville and Columbus. I’ve heard people on here talking about barn finds and estate sales but I don’t ever seem to run into any.
In the end, you have to be a bit lucky. I’ve still probably overpaid for a couple of mine due to wanting and have made some long road trips.
Im on Facebook strictly for pinball and arcade stuff. I only have two friends on there. Bob Cunningham the shipper and a guy who does chrome work.
