Quoted from Mikala:

I have not posted in quite awhile. Thought I would show how you squeeze 8 games in a 12x15’ room. I actually have room for a 9th. Knocked outed the wall behind the row of machines, will be expanding to 16 eventually.
[quoted image][quoted image]

I have roughly the same size space with the same setup.

I posted this on what I brought home last night. I’m hoping to get her 100% and on route in the next couple of weeks. I already got BGResto and PBR to the rescue!

4 EMs. Derby Day is a 1956. Family has had it since early 60s. Plays pretty well. Full House is 1964, Skylab 1974 and Liberty Bell is 1977.

New to EM pinball restoration, got the first one, Kicker, this Halloween. The second one, Ship Ahoy, a few weeks later. Both are playable but not yet at 100%. Working on the issues with the help of this community.

I noticed your Old Chicago cabinet paint looks nice and unfaded... is it a repaint, or are you amongst the lucky few who has an original unfaded cabinet?

It looks original. You can't see the entire cabinet. I've seen many that have one good side and one faded side.

Saw and played one at The Silverball Museum in Asbury Park, NJ. It was several years ago, so I don't know if it's still there or not.

My first EM, picked it up a few days ago, it was suppose to be working when i went and got it, but it wasnt, still had to grab it up either way, never worked on an EM before so its a whole new learning curve to tackle, but its been a fun ride, especially when i got it into a game for the first time, the cabinet is pretty shot, delaminating on the front and right side, the front panel looks like its going to fall off, and the metal thingy on the inside left side where you connect the leg has rusted and fallen off, but even with how bad the cabinet is i could not pass it up, i know i'd be regretting it if i did. I fully intend to restore it back to its glory days and learning about how EM's function is a joy in and of itself. It may not be the best looking EM out there, but thanks to it I think i may be more of an EM guy now then a SS, absolutely looking forwards to geting more EM's in the collection and this one is easily my favorite out of all my machines now. Looking at all yalls machines is such a joy and it saddens me to know that alot of them were destroyed back in the day. Now i really want to add a Capt. Card and a Top Hand to complete the trilogy. Thank you all for sharing, i have a couple hundred pages to go through now... Such a beautiful collection of EM's.

On a positive note, the playfield looks to be in nice shape for a High Hand.

#12176 4 years ago

Enjoy. I had a High Hand project many years ago. I bondo'd the rough cabinet and sanded it down, got it looking nice and undercoated it and made my own stencils, but then I sold it before I got it finished, so I'll enjoy following your restoration thread on it.

My Bally eagle eye spotted this 1964 2 in 1 on eBay for a ridiculous opening bid. I tried to reach a deal with the seller but then it was went to another online auction site and was able to secure for a bit more than I planned. Had to stash the cabinet at work until I can do a stealth transfer to the basement. Playfield looks good, cabinet is fair, BG has fade (BGresto has done this one ) and it supposedly works.

Was not on my short list but I have never seen one for sale and only one other Pinsider has it listed in their collection.

A couple of the Williams I owned from that era are so hard to complete or win a special on, I believe they came up with that to give the player a fighting chance.

Myself, I don't like easy games to win on.

1975 Williams "Pat Hand" Cleaned up nice, and I did add a few colored LED's to the backglass to bring some life back to her. (Note: She already had blue hair!) For a poker theme, not a bad player!

And picked up a local machine that needed a little bit of work as well. 1968 Bally "Dogies" Lot's of gates for those "dogies" to go thru! All nicely working, and the playfield is in great condition - just wish I could find a better backglass for this one.

Out of curiosity, can bgresto print up new backglasses? Or do they only do restorations on existing backglasses?

I assumed it was the latter, but from what limited reading I've done on their process it seems like they could theoretically print new ones too.

Target Alpha made its way from the basement repair center to the main floor game room.
The backglass is near perfect, only the fade from the factory foam tape.

Just got my Sky Jump. I bought it from a guy on Pinside and friend of mine picked it up in mid-August near St Louis. The game finally made it down with him to Florida for his winter vacation. I have a new Wade playfield to put into it. Game should be sweet when it's all done.
