I didn't use any clear. Only carnauba wax. The process I use is on this thread:

I haven’t used it on a playfield yet but Meguiars Ultimate paste wax made my 10 year old truck look like mirrors after I waxed it last week. Never seen anything like it.

I bet it’s similar to Meguiars Ultimate. I tried Griot’s Garage Top paste wax on
2 playfields and my truck and it wasn’t in the same league as Meguiars Ultimate and cost $2 more.

A Friend suggested to use Mothers Carduba (spelling may be off) wax, so I picked up
that Mother's paste wax and used it on my playground vintage metal slide. The Lemon
Pledge (on the slide) worked better. After letting him know, he said no, you have to use
Mother's liquid wax, and wow, I now use it on both the slide and the playfields..
Note: I haven't tried the Gold paste wax, but I know the Carduba's liquid wax works great
and long lasting..

I just looked at the last tin I bought and realized I accidently got the cleaner+carnauba combo one instead of themy "pure carnauba" one...hope it wasn't a big mistake 
Ohh well, time to clean and wax a few anyway....will be buying the better stuff next time for sure

I would not risk using any such cleaner-wax. There are too many ill-advised ingredients in those products, including water.
I prefer One Grand Blitz carnauba wax.

I agree on cleaner wax stuff. I definitely didn't grab that last can on purpose.
I have had good luck with mothers wax and like the results.
Im certainly not opposed to trying sone blitz either.

My Flip a Card went 50% clean with the Magic Eraser and 91% alcohol. As gently as I could till it became clear it was going to be a repaint on most of it or let it be and start the clear coat/ wax.

I worked on one spot on the back end of the body for 2 minutes straight with ME/alcohol with only the slightest discoloration showing on the ME pad and no change on the cabinet.
I have a few more things to try before I give up and plan a cabinet repaint.

Mike, paint remover and sand paper should do the trick, along with some rattle cans of paint, oh also a set of Pinball Pimp stencils. 
Try to GENTLY use a rag dampened with lacquer thinner.
Go very easy, but even so, you might need to touch up some spots afterwards.
I used some LA’s Totally Awesome and a scotchbrite pad did this much tonight. I used Mean Green for a bit of it.
The green paint is thinner than the brown and not holding up as well but I’m impressed that it is having this large an impact.

I was using LA's Totally Awesome cleaner. Someone on the What Did You Bring Home Today thread recommended it. I got it at Dollar General for a dollar.

So you're saying just let Krud Kutter sit and do it's work and it gets most of the staining with only wiping it off?

That's been my experience. It starts to work immediately. I've never left it on longer than a few minutes, but I haven't seen staining as heavy as yours. Wipe down finally with a slightly damp rag. May be worth searching the EM forum for more details, I first heard of it when Dirtflipper posted about Krud Kutter several years ago.

If you can find a Zep brand distributor, try either their Spree or Spirit spray bottle cleaners. They work great on the cigarette tar removal.
I have found Krud Kutter to be the most effective. I prefer to let it initially 'run the stains' off the sides with a little help from a magic eraser moving downwards. However IME as mentioned earlier there is a point where any further attempts will start to remove graphics. However Atlantis not a complex stencil prep course.
I spent more time with Krud Kutter and LA Awesome and the staining is just too much to put in the effort to try and clean it up. I spend a lot if time in an area to not be too aggressive and keep the graphics intact and it does not come out consistent. I’m resigned to get it repainted. The rest of the game is gorgeous and deserves a new repaint.
And then Ken sent me a picture of what it could look like and that did it.

Not perfect by any means but I repainted almost the entire playfield by hand (brush) then clear coated and waxed. It was pretty rough when I got it and I still need to paint under the Mylar where the pop bumpers are but I’m going to wait till I try to rebuild the middle pop.
Now I need some ideas on what to do (if anything) with the bad touch up on the backglass.

Yeah, I screwed up. It is actually seven.
O-din is back to measuring in penis math again. The math is something like 1.4 x actual number.
