Here's the pin I am getting in a few days. I can't wait!

Looks nice Rat! Just a few parts and some touch up and you are set!

Ken

Touch up? I like original condition.

How about just a fresh Clearcoat?

It effects the natural cupping effect.

Yea, your right. LED's? oops, sorry as it would not be original with them.

Noooo! Don't do that! That's the only thing keeping the Playfield together!

#1108 6 years ago

the spin out was not one of the better wedge heads but it was OK
the repaint looks good the only bad thing is the hammer tone door and other hardware.

#1109 6 years ago
Quoted from AlexF:

So, eleven hundred men went in the water, Three Hundred and sixteen men come out, the sharks took the rest, June the 29, 1945.

I am a navy vet and I can tell you that you do anything you can to stay out of the water.
warm water = sharks
cold water= hypothermia
there is no winning, keep the boat afloat!

#1110 6 years ago

i love my spin out

still have yet to get all the roto targets lit first, then the 4 last ... to get the infamous 4 specials klackety klack all in one go !! but always keeps me coming back - plays nice and fast and in the dark lit up the colors are really pretty too

Duck dynasty edition!!

Long live EMs! Gotta bump this thread!

#1114 6 years ago

I have already shown some pics of my Golden Arrow. Now for a shiny fresh video or two.

Still a little work to do on the playfield switches and I havent even touched the backbox mechs yet. This one is going to be really nice!! The cabinet is the sore spot. Pretty flaky on the paint. I may do a repaint.

Where do you guys get the stencils to do those awesome EM cabinet repaints?
Or do you trace what is left and make your own somehow?

Very, very cool!

Wish I could watch YouTube at work.

I measure the cabinet dimensions. Photo the cabinet as straight on as possible and from a good distance to avoid lens distortion. Then I create a line drawing of the cabinet based on the dimensions I measured. I do the drawing in Illustrator. Then I place the photo into the illustrator document and size it to fit the cabinet drawing. There is a little stretching at the corners to do because of the lens distortion. Once I have the image where I want it, I take some virtual measurements of key points of the design and compare them to the cabinet itself. If they are pretty close, I leave it alone, otherwise there is some more stretching and fitting to do. Once it is all sized and aligned right, I create a drawing over the photo of each color. Put them in separate layers and now I have all my colors ready to make stencils. A plotter cuts these drawings out on paint mask film. Cool!

I really want to do a repaint on Golden Arrow, but I really really want to play it for a while first!

Ain't that the truth...

Always hard to strike the balance between refurbishing and playing.

Don't sweat it. I know you like the challenge of figuring it out but won't be disappointed if you can't make the mask work. That was just sort of an added bonus. The art part you did so far looked awesome and I appreciate all your effort. Anyway, we'll start a new thread on that one when I get the machine all put together.

I had no idea Golden Arrow had one of those big 1960's 100 point gong type bells in the back. Pretty sweet!

Love those bells!

The bell is actually mounted in the lower cabinet on the left side. It gongs for what I consider an EM Jackpot shot. 10,000 points! Not many EM games have a shot worth that!

#1126 6 years ago

I have never heard of any 70's machines with a big 50's / 60's bell. So at first I thought you had bells hooked up instead of the typical xylophone chimes. I like it!

How bad do you want it? I'll meet you in KC with it.

#1128 6 years ago

I am BROKE! LOL. Wish I had more money. I had to spend 2200 on a Washer/ dryer and that new expensive Dyson Vacuum. I had to keep the wife happy.

#1129 6 years ago

I picked up Big Daddy this morning, and not only is it a beautiful machine, it is also a great player. Don't these two look like they belong next to each other? Thanks again Robert, for providing me with two of the nicest machines in my collection.

So, yes, I noticed all the cards are dropped down on KOD - how many credits did you accumulate from that game?

Yes, when I went to take the picture, I looked at KoD and was not happy with what was left from the last game, so I played a quick one, and completed the mission for the first time. Not sure how many I won though. But it has been a great day. Once I get the right size Buckaroo legs, I will have a Big Daddy sandwich.

And that is 1682 points on a three ball game.

My KOD is set for 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800.

Yes, you will have a Williams sandwiched by 2 Gottlieb wedgeheads. Should stick a Williams reverse wedgehead in the sandwich.

I think I'm gonna need a bigger boat.

Quoted from boilerman:

someone here will be getting a new pin in a few days

As I write this the pin that Boilerman sold me is 8 hours away on the truck in Memphis, TN. That means my new pin will be in the Dallas area at 8:30am CST. Man I hope they actually deliver the machine today instead of dropping it off at a warehouse and then delivering it the next day.

Do you have your binoculars on you? Good luck with your game Rat. The waiting is the hardest part.

Yeah it is in Irving. I wish I could just pick the thing up at their warehouse. The anticipation is driving me nuts!

#1148 6 years ago

Just got word my "Sure Shot" and "Prospector" are in Transit with STI back East.

My CC "Casino" is standing by in the warehouse back in the Midwest waiting for NAVL to pick up shortly.

Just love when the ball (truck) gets rolling.

I'll share picks once I get them and when they are set up.
