Nice Domino. Had that game in the past, I think it has one of the best pop-bumper arrangements of any EM. Really gets the ball moving!

Sorry, don't know how that picture got into my post. That's a painting my wife did (of my Sing Along).

Neat picture though. Puts my SA to shame. Just acquired Cross Town and need to get it spiffed up. KoD is in good shape.

That's a Gottlieb you don't see very often and a great player for sure. Congratulations on ownership of a rare EM.
Enjoy!

Latest project. Lots to do. And had some interesting wood modifications have to undo. Including bolting lengths of 2x2 inside the legs to reinforce them.

Nice. I asked the seller about the game and they simply told me it was rough. Looks like it's not bad. Maybe a bit of missing paint on the back last score real area. Should clean up pretty decent.

It has a full metal bottom plate that’s folded up on all 4 sides. Was that a part you could order or did some operator get busy with a metal brake?

There was an operator down here in the Philly area named Stan Harris who did that to pretty much all his games. I'm willing to bet that the instruction and score cards are also hand typed from a typewriter as well. Those are telltale signs you've got a Harris game. My old Sure Shot was a Stan Harris game that had that too, and it took all afternoon to get all those damn carriage bolts out, since they were rusted and stripped out.

To my knowledge, it wasn't a factory option, but just something he did to keep people from drilling up through the bottom to get into the cashbox. No clue why he had all the instruction cards re-typed though. Maybe to keep the originals as spares?

Can’t thank you enough and yes, it’s riddled with carriage bolts.

... and is that a wooden, vented backbox door?

I also have a Volley with carriage bolts along the bottom and two larger bolts on either side of the coin door (I assume for a bar across the door).

Your bolt pattern matches mine exactly. Does yours have the wooden back panel also? Mine has paint specks and almost looks factory

I have the standard metal backbox door. On the cabinet, my bolts stop halfway back (sorry, deceptive photography on my part), I'd think there isn't much additional security gained by armor plating below the score motor board and further back... also half the sheet metal.

OK, how about 2 EMs and 1 SS. Now I need a Bally Sky Kings (don't tell my wife).

It is hard to capture the flasher bulbs on all the machines in one image. I need to get my DSLR and take a long exposure sometime.

I’ve always admired Supersonic from afar. How’s she play?

Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

We like it. Has drops, spinner and a cool rule set. It plays a bit faster than the EMs, but the playfield is nicely organized. You do not loose track of the ball with the increased speed. Go to YouTube and you can watch a few videos of game play.

I know this is the EM thread, but Supersonic is such an underrated game.

#11382 5 years ago

I have a friend in town and it's his only game. I thought it was a lot of fun. That Bally knocker in his unfinished basement scares the hell out of me every time.

Supersonic does have an EM cousin
Not my game but Randy Peck's
the one and only.

Thanks guys. Yes, the knocker on Bally early solid states are incredible loud and well placed for a solid sound. DC vs AC coils for sure.

#11385 5 years ago

Nice, I saw that on IPBD. Where is that machine physically located? As I understand, it is the only one???

#11386 5 years ago

Los Angeles county.
Randy has a warehouse/arcade housing about 250+ pins,
lots and lots of classic Woodrails and other neat stuff.

Took down Atlantis and put up Buccaneer - it hasn’t been up in several years ... but plugged it in and it played beautifully right out of the gate

is Buccaneer a fun game? Glancing at the playfield it looks like a one shot (spinner) game but I've never played it

#11391 5 years ago

Fantastic game and so much fun

Plenty of fun shots

‘Around the world’ shot if you can get it - up the eight and down the nine or vice versa

Straight up the 10 or straight up the 11 are also challenging

Or through the spinner straight through the two or through the spinner or straight through the three

The skillshot to get the one because you can only get it at the top – the spinner will not spot it like it can all the other numbers

Just one of those games that is a joy to play over and over - even if you just like hammering the spinner over and over for the fun of it

Do you have limited space? That is a nice way to store them - you still get to appreciate them as they sleep...

I ordered a new spinner for mine from PBR. He had two left. Where did you get yours?

#11394 5 years ago

Yes damoib - very limited space - and yes I enjoy them parked all across one wall, and a few more by the machine that is set up

Steamvette - I made my own customized spinner decals

Here's the Minizag that I'm finally being able to enjoy thanks to help from Pinside and others. The cab has the typical Bally paint and the backglass artwork was heavily cracked so I installed a bgresto one. I've got 44's in the head with the exception of blinkers and some bright, warm white LEDs behind the 9 feature spotlights. Fortunately, the playfield is in very good condition. Currently I'm building the AAB relay that was available as an option back in the day.

Congratulations. I have a MiniZag en route to me. Are the BGresto colors a good match to the original on MiniZag? I'm on the fence about replacing my decent original with a repro.

Quoted from ZNET:

Congrats on your machine. The bgresto colors are fine but the real difference is with the game on. Light doesn't transmit quite as well which is why I have some very bright, warm white LEDs behind the spot lites on the backglass, and in general they don't look quite as good as silkscreened glass which is fine because they're not advertised to be the same "image quality" as the original. I guess it depends on how badly your original glass is in terms of whether or not you should get one. It seems for me that I frequently get games with pretty rough backglasses so over the years I've bought a half dozen or so bgresto glasses and just ordered another one the other day for an Op Pop Pop.

Is your chime unit not making any sound?
Thought it was not making a sound due to an electrical problem, check this out. The plungers were stuck in the goo of what was left of the silencer rubber. Stuck like your boot in 2 feet of mud. Guess that years of someone oiling the plungers, created the black sticky mess. This from my High Hand.
