Quoted from Inkochnito:

Very, very nice!
Good looking machines.
Nice to see my score and instruction cards are being used.
Is that a F14-Tomcat left of Lawman?
Peter
www.inkochnito.nl

Notice your cards on the Ship Mates too! I was glad for the Word files so I could modify the free game scores a little and make it 5 balls.

#11202 5 years ago

Thanks Kolchak!!

Thanks Peter yes that is your apron cards! Yes that is an F-14 to the left. That restoration also looks like a new machine.

I just added Playmates and Fun Park to the EM corner of my collection. One of them must not have the right legs.. probably Fun Park, it sits very low.

Anyone know a pistol Pete? Lol

I've flipped Fun Park a couple of times, but not easy to do..
Victor, N.Y. (?).. Years back, have you maybe come to Newark
and traded an EM machine (Captain Fantastic I believe) for a digital?

"Pistol Pete" Maravich! Hah! "Fun Park" in what I'm assuming is a "Diamond Jack" cabinet.

Victor, N.Y. (?)..

Years ago, I drove up past your way to pick up a very nice "Play Mates" that I won on eBay. I used to see the signs for Victor when I drove up to Rochester for work.

Here's my Gold Strike that has "just left the building". It came out great.

Wasn’t me. I bought them both locally though. It might still be one that passed through your hands

Nice example. I always felt the cowboy plastic behind the lower drops should have a bulb under it. I added one to my Eldorado and gold strike that have both been since sold.

#11210 5 years ago

Was just wondering. A couple Guys from Victor traded me a Captain Fantastic for a digital machine,
and they threw in a Neptune's lower cab. Found a Neptune's head (numbers didn't match) 16 miles
away at a Friend's in Walworth. That Neptune I let go, but still have a couple others..

Why does the 'Pistol Pete' scores look like they are in a raised print? Instead of a engraved into the game? Is this a lighting trick. The marking looks like it has been covered with tape, and over painted.

It’s all etched in. It’s much harder to see in person. The part that looks like tape is carved too. Maybe Pistol Pete’s attempt at carving a square?

I’m guessing the head had other high scores written on it, the whole thing was just painted over with yellow.

Picked up this SURF SIDE a few weeks ago. Got it all shopped and now am enjoying it!

Today I got my first woodie! I am collecting magic theme pins. Have Hokus Pokus and Flipper. Now this LITE-A-CARD. Yipee....was in a barn the last 2 years. Needs some TLC, but will soon be back to life!

You have it going on Jethro, I would have snapped both of those up if the price was right.

#11217 5 years ago

This Bally guy is responsible for hooking Jethro up with both these sweet double-flipper Gottliebs. Paying it forward so some good Bally lovin' will come my way

Big THANK YOU to Ballypin for the leads on these two beauties! Now if you can find me a project Abra Ca Dabra or CARD WHIZ.....

Actually, SURF SIDE wasn't what I would call decent condition with I bought it. Here are a few pics of what it looked like as purchased...I did the paint and restoration, (shown above). Now it's decent, and really fun to play!

Really a big project??? Bring it on!

sure if you can get it cheap, but i am guessing he wants to trade more than it is worth.

I owned one for a while when I was living in Central Florida in the late 1980’s. I sold it because it was in similar condition and the cabinet was painted black!

Got all 7 numbers lit on Buckaroo today. It’s been a while since I did this.

#11232 5 years ago

The funny thing is, just the other day while I was playing the juke box that I recently got freshened up,
I thought I'd play Cowpoke for a change and did the same thing, all seven numbers. The only downfall
was that I had over 8,000 with 4 balls left figuring flipping the numbers, but ended up with this score..
That got a couple of unpleasant syllables out, which helps quality for Cowpoke to remain in the game room..
Edit: The high score was there when I picked up the machine, and there's a reason why I leave it there, but
that score surely doesn't add up for that machine..

#11233 5 years ago

I might add, I got all seven numbers with multiple balls, so not that impressive as achieving that
with only 5 balls, but still a score I may not see for quite some time..

Quoted from Mopar:

I've owned Cowpoke for about 30 years, and I've only lit all seven numbers a couple of times. I've never rolled over the score reels. My highest game is in the 9,000's as well. Truly great game.

Quoted from Scottflips:

My highest game is in the 9,000's as well. Truly great game.

And actually, for me, a 9,000 score on any 4 digit AAB is a hell of a game..
I rolled Fun Park over a couple times, but as far as I recall, that's the only one
that I had..
My neighbor (an old pinball player) rolled Melody, but as far as I know, that's the
only two in the basement that's been flipped..

Flip Flop picked up at an estate sale. I asked if I could open it up/remove PF glass to check out the function and the seller (estate sale rep) suggested rather I play it, insinuating even that I might be afraid to challenge her high score. We had a laugh and then I explained that playing it with a rusty ball, dirty PF and rubber bands substituted for slingshot rubbers would be BAAAAD. Went just to check it out, surprised to find it worked! Placed an emergency call to my financial director (wife) then grabbed it up. Replaced a bunch of busted, mismatched posts, new rubbers, pop bumper socket, bunch of bulbs, cleaned and waxed and is now the current family favorite. Soon it's gonna need flipper rebuilds all around but it will wait until I get my Blue Chip home from the shop.

Fast playing game with nice playfield design. I had one for a while and thought it was a very good player. Make sure you play it at least once a week to keep it operating 100%. Nice addition!

Grand Prix is a fun, nice looking, fast game. Agreed to sell mine to a buddy at Expo in a couple weeks, kinda wish I hadn't lol.

I was fortunate to pickup this 1964 Bally Hay Ride add a ball from another pinsider in Ohio. I was initially inspired by @ryanclaytor and his journey documented on this site last year to pickup his Hay Ride. With only 250 produced, I am looking forward to giving it the restoration attention it deserves. The good is a very nice condition playfield with typical wear at the pop bumpers and the upper ball arch. Game appears to be complete except the coin mech and chute parts and typical missing back door. Backglass has some flaking but presents very well and has no fading. Cabinet, upper arch and ball shooter gauge have been painted over but I have been successful in removing paint from the right side and with pictures from Ryan, will be able to create stencils and match colors for an intended re-paint.

There was a "Harvest" at last year's York show that was tempting, but I would rather find the add-a-ball version. Gorgeous playfield art on that pair.

Picked up this Hi-Deal couple weeks ago. Lots of cleaning it's starting to come along. It sat for years so the more I play it the more the switches are working, had to clean a few.

I hadn't played it either until I found this project and got it working. It's fun actually. Only 850 produces, so not likely you'll find one! Two other pinsiders show it in their collection, but I reached out to them and neither still have it.
