Quoted from eagle18:Nice tune from HS and earlier pinball days!
Yeah. Love "the Dan". But I was thinking ELP:
"soon the Gypsy Queen...in a glaze of Vaseline...will perform on guillotine...what a scene, what a scene..."
Quoted from AlexF:Picked this Bow & Arrow up a couple weeks back. Still working on it but have it mostly cleaned up and playing pretty good. First impression seems favorable (fast and fun). I haven't had many Ballys over the years but they sure have a neat feel to them.
Yep... for me, Bow & Arrow is the game in the EM hall of history where you go... whoa... something is different here... big backglass... powerful pops... feels like a whole new level. Pretty much the big "shot across the bow" when Bally and Williams stole Gottlieb's thunder and began to get REALLY good.
Quoted from jrpinball:Picked this up today. Moving sale.
Great moving sale pick-up jr.
Nice all around condition for it's age and a sweet bg to boot.

I had one that played so damn fast after shopping it, that it dawned on me why they needed to go SS.
They made a good choice selecting that model as a prototype SS.
Quoted from fisherdaman:Game starts up and looks great expect I push start and ...nothing.
Do you have credits on the game?
Quoted from fisherdaman:Brought home my first EM this past weekend! Did a lot of cleaning on the game and plugged it in last night. Game starts up and looks great expect I push start and ...nothing. I have a manual on order from Marco along with some other supplies.
Great title! As Scott says, first check for credits (or that the middle switch on the credit unit is bent closed for free-play). Does the back-box illuminate? Do you have "TILT" on the glass before hitting start?
You should start a separate thread, though, so we don't hijack this one with trouble-shooting your game. Folks will be happy to help, but create a new thread, please.
Posted these pics in the wood rail thread, but thought some of you non - wood rail em fans would appreciate these two games. Just picked them up last night. I know as pre WWII flipper less they aren't worth much. But thought they were great looking enough to save from the possible coffee table conversions that might have been in their future. BTW looking for a good home for Triumph, as can't keep them both.
I just picked up this 1959 United Deluxe Baseball this weekend. My first pitch and bat.
Does anyone know where I can find a manual/ schematic. I have already talked to Clay Harrel, and Steve Young, and neither of them have them!

Interesting... it has the Ice Show outlanes, but the Ice Revue ruleset and dead middle bumper.
Now if only I could find an Ice Show with the Ice Revue outlanes! Or would that be too easy?
Quoted from Phillips88:Here are pics of the sample Ice Revue
That yellow cabinet on the sample IR really sets it apart from the regular production run white cabinet.

Actually, it would be too hard.
Which is likely the reason why they decided to ultimately put each machine into production (AAB & Replay) as they did.
This GiGi has been in my wife's family for many years. I recently decided to clean it up and replace the rubber parts. Everything works except for two bumper lights only work intermittently, I'll check into those someday.
Here are some before and after picts, I was amazed on how much grime came off.

Ooh. Get rid of those metal flippers!
I'll trade ya a couple of plastic ones for them.
Nice clean up on that game!

Are the metal not original?
Quoted from newracer:Are the metal not original?
No. They were used on some Williams games, but not Gottlieb. They are one piece, with an integral shaft, whereas the Gottliebs use a separate plastic flipper bat which is attached to the shoe and shaft assembly with a long screw at the pivot point.
See this:http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1003&picno=23244
They obviously are interchangeable, and this was done by a serviceman, or someone else somewhere along the line.

They look 100 times better after you clean them up and put new rings on them - you're lucky to have a Gottlieb "in the family". Sometimes a dab of 100% silicone caulk (some guys use tape) will keep those pop-bumper caps in place so the numbers look right.

Thanks for the info, I may consider finding some originals.

I put a couple of small dabs of rubber cement on the caps that were loose, worked great.
Quoted from bek1966:Nice games guys, thanks for sharing!
Wayne: If it's not too much trouble and if you can remember to take photos, would you mind showing how you do this process? I have tried, without great success, on my Fast Draw and would like to see how you approach doing a retouch on the finish.
Thanks,
Brad
I have now completed the resto Brad-hence a couple of pics of the areas you requested between flippers & upper arch. After thorough clean of pf I gave each area a very light sand to try & smooth the surface then mixed shellac flakes with methylated spirits (more flakes darker finish). I applied the mixture with a cloth-a couple of coats to acquire close match. Then applied in those areas wipe on satin clear followed by waxing of pf. Not perfect but in my view much better than previous. Hope this helps.

Have used the rubber cement to bond a 1/4 inch or smaller section of a rubber band to the inside of the cap. Have had a very a successful result, with this repair tip.
Quoted from Darcy:Have used the rubber cement to bond a 1/4 or smaller section of a rubber band to the inside of the cap.
That seems to be a good solution. The cap still easily removable..
I use some of this automotive grade double sided adhesive tape for the broken tab side of a Gottlieb pop bumper cap.
It also works on loose clip on dead bumper caps from the 50s and 60s.
It doesn't have to be this automotive grade. It can be the 3M double side adhesive foam tape also. It becomes reusable if the parts are clean to start with.
Just a 1/2” x 1/8” strip or smaller is all you need.
Nice work Wayne and thanks for remembering!
Using the shellac flakes to better match the color is a great idea. I really like the idea of using localized repair/restoration techniques on games like your Flying Carpet.

Here is a photo. This tip is from a Pinsider, Boilerman, or Dirtflipper, not really sure.

Having owned this machine and giving it to a Friend many years back, I saw that a fella
1.5 hrs. away (which I still consider as a neighbor) was in search of this title. Here in Upstate
N.Y., Winter like weather has decided to stick around for awhile yet, so last week I refurbished a
Mini Pool, traded it to my Pal for this Top Score. Went through the Top Score the last few days, and
now is ready for pick up. He's excited on getting the Top Score, my Friend enjoys Mini Pool's play,
I'll have a couple bucks to put toward the RTV I plan on getting later this month, so all is happy..
Quoted from Mopar:A couple weeks ago, I made a trading deal to a well known (and liked) participate on this group
for this pin which was one of the last on my wanted list. Only one left on the list is Space Walk...
And I know, "Don't hold my breath"..
Ooh, that's nice! Hmm. Who made that great looking S/I card?
Quoted from aahgo:Welcome to the club Pleasure Isle club. Still one of my favorites!
Thank You, and I'm pleased I'm able to join the club..
Quoted from jrpinball:Ooh, that's nice! Hmm. Who made that great looking S/I card?
And just to think, I almost traded for yours instead of this beauty.. Easy, only Joking!
I thought the card was a nice original. You fabricated that card, ha.. Good job!
Quoted from Mopar:Thank You, and I'm pleased I'm able to join the club..
Your cousin in Pennsylvania says hello. My favorite AAB. Good luck with yours!
Quoted from oldcarz:Your cousin in Pennsylvania says hello.
Now that's a nice looking P.I.!
If you have never played Spinout, find one and play it. Its one of my favorite wedge heads because of the shot for the 4 when you have already lit 123 and 567. Wack, wack, wack, wack. 4 free games for one shot. None of the new games can match that kind of thrill.
I currently have a quick draw, had her for about a year. And a royal guard..my 1st pin I purchased years ago..something about the wedge heads.I just love the art, sounds and the nudging. I use to have a stern disco, but sold her..

I have done that on Cowpoke, but 4 free balls..

The playfield on your Quick Draw is nos , original , or restored ? I am asking this since I am restoring my Fast Draw and yours look exactly like the ones on original leaflets and , in my opinion , this is how the playfield colors should look like.
Almost all Fast Draw restored playfields that I came across have weird colors !
Charles

"Buckaroo" will also give you four replays if you get the number four last.
"Flipper Cowboy" same as "Cow-Poke".
"Spin Out" is sometimes referred to as the poor man's "Buckaroo".

The play field on my QD had a protective coating on it before I purchased it. I’m not 100% sure what it was. All I do is wax it about once a month and play it!

I had a Spin Out, and the Guy I traded it to for a coin op Kiddie Ride also said
the same thing..

My favorite EM at the PHOF!
It was so much fun trying to hit the moving targets.
I wouldn't pass if one was available locally.

Looking more closely at your QD , there is no Gottlieb logo on the lower left , below the left sheriffs feet , so the whole playfield must have been repainted.
Beautiful work though !
Ron, this is one of my favorite pieces of your work. That custom racer (ACTUALLY SPINNING-OUT!) looks so bone-stock it's fantastic. Tremendous work.
Quoted from Darcy:Fairly sure that the post between the flippers is not original. Most likely added later, by operators, or owners.
Going to have to look into the cabinet paint scheme, not sure on which is correct, or were there 2 versions.
Here is the flyer for Aloha, taken from IPDB. It shows the red colour on the backbox, along the lower panel and up the sides.Your back box frame could be from a different pin. Is the side art on the back box of your pin match the cabinet?
The Aloha is done! New glass from John Greatwich looks great. I know, the paint is not original, but I like it and the colors go good together. This one is going to a friend, for a fun game to play. I spent a lot of time working on it, now I hate to see it go! But a deal is a deal.

Outstanding work! Thanks for pointing it out, I thought my memory was off or it was another variant of the playfield when I saw it first.
