Those aren’t two games. There’s a mirror in between and the scores are the same. Busted!

Funny you say that. Crazy coincidence happened today. I've been playing both machines, and the last score on "Diamond Jack" #1 from yesterday was 1,182.
This is an admittedly bad score; I may have just been play testing it. So today, I played a game on "Diamond Jack" #2 . I did have a rather bad game, and needed one card in each segment for an extra ball, but the last ball drained without getting a single extra ball. When I looked up at the score, I was astonished to see that I had a total of 1,182 the same score on the other machine from yesterday! Photo to follow.

if there was a mirror then why one of them is not a mirror image of the other?

Nice pair of add a balls JR; do you prefer this title compared to King Of Diamonds?

#9909 9 months ago

King of Diamond has the edge in my book, but DJ is a great game too.

#9910 9 months ago
Quoted from Vic_Camp:

Although I really like them both, and I'm an add-a-ball guy, I have to agree. It's the red lights on the playfield, particularly the circle of them that light up when you make the special. Gotta love them cherries! "Diamond Jack" is gorgeous in it's own right too. "KOD" has a very slight edge to me though because of the "special" lights.

#9911 9 months ago

Everybody owns a pair of flip flops, right ?

IMG_6157 (resized).jpg

#9912 9 months ago

"Diamond Jack" is a bit more formal because it has a table cloth on the table in the backglass. The little puke rolling a doobie on "KOD"'s backglass is a little off-putting.

#9913 9 months ago
Quoted from Ballypin:

Yeah, but you only have one playfield!

#9914 9 months ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Funny, but not true. The game on the left is a restore with repainted cabinet but the playfield rebuild stalled out and I misplaced some parts. Bought the one on the right so I can finish the restore.

so is mini like a 1/2 of one or a 1/4 of two?

Two very fun games. "Mini Pool" was like my fifth or sixth game ever. I have since sold that one and have an improved copy. I have fond memories of it from back in the day. "Paradise" is just tremendous. One of the best multi-player games ever. I wish Gottlieb had made wedgehead versions of it and "Pleasure Isle". They would have been the best wedgeheads ever.

this is whats going in the space , to the left of paradise, which is my favourite wedgehead of all time . my second one. I saw your post for a trade for a majorettes for your pleasure isle and just smile at that, because that makes for the most interesting trade I have ever seen .(mine wont be entering that discussion though)

I too like Majorettes, but recently I've been going to the Subway (when I do play),
and also Diamond Jack..
Not very often (if ever) do I see a League Leader in a game room. I have that and
Scientific Machine "Batting Practice", and if I trade off one, I'm thinking the
Batting Practice and hang on to (what I believe) the rarer League Leader..
How do you like it's game play? I'm thinking I never had the opportunity to ask
anyone till now.. (T)

tbh I cant really tell you. *L* its sort of in queue to get going and it is functional except the catch is missing for the ball release on the top of the conveyor belt? there was a pop can sort of cut metal that I was too worried would cut or shaffe the existing leather belt which id never be able to find. Actually that's funny as I was talking to a friend this morning and were discussing that exact game to go through it.

As for rare, it is pretty novel that it is one of the few pitch and bats you hit the ball in the air. there was a restoration of one done that I commented on and discussed with a pinsider "izzy"? https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/keeney-league-leader-pitch-n-bat-restoration#post-2571835 I know I had a few emails back and forth with him .
Also , I know the owner of bgresto at least owned one at one time as he mentions it in why he did that games bg

That's all your machine needs is the ball release?
I never had my opened. I'll see about getting to the
back of it and see what type of release it has. Has to
be like a springy metal flap. Maybe something I'll be
ably to form..
Mine will be needed quite a bit of work. Much is frozen,
but I've been there many times before. It won't be
anything new..

#9928 9 months ago

Target Pool 2x here, but Mini is the better game. I don't care for AAB simply because, well the replay was more relevant in life for most of the world and it often is the winner on design and play. Mini Pool is one of a few exceptions, and it wins over Target. God bless the Mini Pool.

I just found a Target Pool in need of restore. It's been sitting in my friends uncle's basement for years. Kick the dust off and it wouldn't be half bad. I just restored his Zip A Doo and it works great now. PM me if your interested. I live in Grass Valley CA

times..

3X Four Million BCs, "ducks in a row".
Rarity outside of the factory in well over 45+ years.
All operationally functional.
Taken before final restoration of my game in the center WITHOUT LEDs.

Looks like the artwork on the playfield (girls) is by Molentin
while the BG is by that mystery artist who did
other BLY pins like Campus Queen and Aces High
and some WMS games like Big Deal and Big Daddy.

You're speechless?

#9939 9 months ago

Yea.
I just wondered about the point of owning several machines of the same title.
Then realized it was a pretty stupid question.

Better to keep my mouth shut and appear to be a fool,
Than to open it and remove all doubt.

How's that Army Navy restoration going?

#9950 9 months ago

There are several reasons why collectors own duplicate titles (at least temporarily) instead for the purpose of pure "hoarding". This is a legitimate question.

The only time I personally own duplicate games are for restorations, or game trades for other titles, especially rare games. I have done this with Ted Zale games. I know several collectors that have owned up for example 7x Fireballs or 10x Nip-Its and were not pinball brokers which was rediculously excessive. I have to "pry" games out of their hands.

However, It is easier to do duplicate restorations while they are side by side, not just sitting on storage for decades. Bulk deals do happen for identical titles. I just did one for 2x Gators and 1x Alligator, among other games. In some rare cases I buy for "Frankenstein" builds as not all games can always be saved the due to severe damage or missing parts.

The final reason is to protect games from being parted out unecessarily, "scrappers", or simply turned over for profit as a projects or baling wire repairs from "flippers", which is more common than people realize.

I dislike "hoarding" or "pinball scrapping".
I do not throw away good used parts!
