Quoted from wayner:

That's a lovely machine jr-it would be a shame to be sent on its way!

Yes, I know. I'm thinking hard about this one. If Gottlieb had made this in a single player wedgehead version, it would have been their best pin ever IMHO!

Quoted from Vreuls:

Picked up this bally el toro yesterday

Was that at Rock Around the Jukebox at the stand next to the new Sterns? If so, I took a good hard look at it, but as both my partner and her sister were with me there would have been no space in the car to take it back. There were several one-player EMs there this time, but no absolute must-haves for me. (Although the ragged Hi Diver tempted me, as well as the Road Race and Top Card at Paul's 50s stand)

I saw you or your friend wheeling it out and felt a twinge of regret. Hope you had a great day in Rosmalen.

Quoted from illawarra92:

think twice before letting that pleasure isle go. firstly it has the most amazing story behind it. i am very fortunate to own one and it would be the last game i would let go.

Yup. Only 235 made. Anyone who owns one is lucky. I have a few friends who each own one. Tremendous player, and gorgeous to boot. It really has it all, and even comes in a replay version if that's more your liking.

Quoted from jrpinball:

I recently pulled off what I thought was nearly impossible. For five years, I've had the lower part of a Gottlieb "Pleasure Isle". Mind you, this is a game that had a production run of 235 units! Recently, I hooked up with someone in Florida who had only the head, and I bought it from him to complete the game. I have no way of proving it, but based on the two backstories, and the general condition of both parts, I believe they are two parts of the same machine that somehow became separated, and are now reunited!

Do you have mirrors in your game room, or did I take too much cough medicine? I see triplets.

Only 2 weeks ago I was fortune enough to pick up a Gottlieb Just 21.

Headed off to Sydney this morning and was actually in 2 minds as the shed is full and didn't really need another game.

Went off to look at a Gottlieb Mibs from 1969 and walked in to view the machine and there were 2 other games that caught my eye - a Williams Turf Champ and a Gottlieb Cross Town.

As woodrails very rarely surface in Australia the Mibs was forgotten and the other 2 purchased.

Actually in 2 minds about keeping the Turf Champ and picking up the Cross Town on Saturday.

The game is almost working, the playfield and backglass are original and has a repro set of plastics and caps. The cab has been painted sometime through her life.

I can see the game being traded off and have had offers already.

Also note that the game was actually a gambling game and one of the horses has been replaced with a zebra

went off today to pick up another game i have no room for.

gottlieb's cross town from 1966 - saw it last week when picking up the williams turf champ and for the price just couldn't pass it up, though i literally have no room for it.

game is complete and came with the bonus of a brand new set of 27" legs, have spare 31" so all good.

playfield and backglass are excellent. actually backglass is factory perspex so these always hold up well.

somebody has painted her through her life so into the restoration queue she goes.

also have a gottlieb sweethearts from 1963 to join her in the next few week, into the resto queue with her also.

Speaking of the game room... shuffling around and getting ready for the cold winter months to arrive.

If I sell Ship Ahoy, I think I can slip in Grand Tour (not stenciled yet) and Bazaar too.

It is the one that is getting played least so.. time to go.

Star Action from Colson is getting pounded daily, my wife and son are having a battle to see who can hold the top spot. Space Odyssey getting a good work out as well. Ding Dong, Moon Shot and Night Rider all see regular usage. Domino is the first machine I turn on. Heat Wave isn't seeing much use but that is the first one that I have completed and painted so not going anywhere just yet.

Already built this... it is full of cars... and a few pins under repair. Lucky Strike and Darts are already in the game room even though LS isn't a 100% yet. Need to tinker around with the spares relay bank, I think one or two are sticking. Fun game though, same for Darts. Played several rounds last night and was able to light the special and collect on the gobble hole.

Bus Stop going too I think along with Ship Ahoy, game play just not my cup of tea for some reason.

Keep your Moon Shot Pecos is the only one that I know who has that one also and I have only seen one for sale on CL in the southwest desert somewhere. We just had 6 tornados the other day and one they showed it had flattened a garage.

We love Moon Shot, not going anywhere! Awesome game. My wife almost beat my high score this weekend, missed it by 100 points!

Nice Slick Chick, but you need some English sub titles Eric. My sister was the one who took 3 years of French in high school. Is the Euro worth more than the dollar or do I need some of these?

And thank you for sharing the link to retro-flip - what a fantastic website! No sub-titles needed...the games speak for themselves.

Okay... www.retro-flip.com is fast becoming my favorite new EM and all things cool go to website. I don't read or speak a bit of French, but guess what - not needed to enjoy the site! Take a look through some of the treads from this sub-forum: http://www.retro-flip.com/f21-PRESENTATIONS-DE-COLLECTIONNEURS.htm

That's it, I'm going out right now to buy some bread, wine and cheese and a beret...and maybe look into some French lessons!

Merci Eric

Picked this game up the other day and have been working on it. I had another one about 20 years ago, but sold it to a friend 2 miles from my home who still has it.

This game has been sitting for the last 30 years or so and was for sure a parts game for some vendor at one point. It was missing the out hole metal arm assembly, back door and channel, lock down bar, top arch rebound rubber, instruction card. I had most of the missing parts in stock except the channel and instruction card. Does anyone have an extra original instruction card or any other extra score cards?

The game is coming real out nice after repairing mostly all the problems and there were many. Even though the game had been sitting for a very long time.....it was in a good environment and is dry and clean inside.

I'll post more pictures and information as I continue to restore this great player!

A few of my designer specific and era, Ted Zale "zipper flipper" games in my collection for those interested Bally EM enthusiasts.
Only a few titles left to go. It has been a very long run (two+ decades) to find most of them in superb or fully restorable factory specification condition.

Keep flipping,
