Quoted from Vic_Camp:Just as I suspected....your 50+ year old North Star for sure has some low plays judging by the top arch wear and the very nice playfield condition with no flipper drag marks or kick out hole wear. That playfield is going to come out sensational after a clean up and waxing. Inside cabinet does look clean too. Didn't get much play on its early years and not much play in its later years. Sat in storage for a while I bet. Thanks for all the pictures.
Maybe some close up detailed shots of the playfield will be the "icing on the cake" for me and put me to rest for my evaluation on this game and will help determine my prediction on how many plays I think the game had in its lifetime.
For sure North Star in my book is rated in the top ten best wedgeheads of all time out of the 100+ manufactured by Gottlieb. Like I said before...your going to love this games playability.
I am interested in your estimate of the number of plays, let me know if these pictures are good enough. The guy I bought it from had a nicer North Star (and Flipper Fair) and I played several games on both. They were a lot of fun, looking forward to getting mine cleaned up.
I am in the process of putting a Pinball Resource order together, will get the bumper caps fixed. I don't suppose anyone has any coin chutes available? I am going to ask PR, but don't see any on their site.
