I am interested in your estimate of the number of plays, let me know if these pictures are good enough. The guy I bought it from had a nicer North Star (and Flipper Fair) and I played several games on both. They were a lot of fun, looking forward to getting mine cleaned up.

I am in the process of putting a Pinball Resource order together, will get the bumper caps fixed. I don't suppose anyone has any coin chutes available? I am going to ask PR, but don't see any on their site.

The black outlined circular ring around the color lenses are almost perfect without any wear. There is a hint of wear from the left kick out when the ball ejects near one of the yellow color lens on the left side of the playfield. The pop bumper area is nice and clean without any signs of wear from the ball getting hammered down into the playfield by the metal pop bumper rind which is good indication of low plays along with the top arch wear, which isn't heavy at all..

There is a slight crack in the playfield from the left yellow rollover button to the top left pop bumper located near the left kick out and the yellow star rollover has a some slight planking too....but that's not from ball play wear its just from old age. It looks like there might be some slight flipper drag near from the left flipper. (make sure you rebuild both flippers to avoid more wear by the flippers.

Overall I would still stand by my guess that this game is a low played machine that just didn't get played like most in 1964 and throughout its lifetime. Without being in front of the game with a bright light and gliding my hands across the playfield to feel the smoothness and feel the height of the color lens I would guess the game has around somewhere in the area of 65,000 plays...plus or minus 10,000 plays. Again it is very hard to say if this is accurate or not since we don't have a game meter in the machine and we don't know how well is was maintained throughout its life span.

Take a look at this video of my Golden Arrow...it has 17,000 plays but has been cleaned up and polished to perfection.

There are two more videos that I did about game condition on my Jacks Open which has 23,000 plays and my Sure Shot. Find them on my you tube page and see how the plays on the game meters on these two games relate to the games condition.

"Flipper Fair", being a '60s add-a-ball game, did not have a playmeter to begin with.

Makes sense. It has some similar loose wires to the North Star so I made that assumption but I read on another thread: "The bundle of wires is often for an 'Extra Chute' relay that didn't always get installed (if it had a one slot coin entry plate, wasn't needed). ". Since I have only one chute, that makes sense

One slot equals....less plays
Is it a ten cent coin slot?.....one dime per play?

That's a mystery then, because it is of course a single slot 10c coin chute. Dropping in the coin starts the game, and since there is nothing to keep track of credits, it wouldn't have a second chute option. Replay games did, of course, but not add-a-balls of that era.
I can't say what those extra unconnected wires are for.

Is this North Star backglass a repro? It looks like the colors weren't lined up correctly when the art was printed on the glass? Maybe it's the angle the photo was taken but look at the lady's lips.

Looks like the screen was twisted at the top when printed. Look at the red around the score reels, the musical note and the red in Gottlieb. The bottom half of the glass looks OK. Maybe it is the angle of the shot though.

I see what you are saying about the backglass, it doesn't line up. Hadn't noticed that before.

I don't know what causes this effect, but I call it "sunburn". I've seen this on many games over the years, and don't know if it is due to some type of finish that was applied to the playfield, sun exposure, or some other environmental factor. It does make the playfield very unattractive, and from my experience, it can't be easily remedied.

Bally Bazaar- Cleaned and waxed the playfield, replaced all the bulbs, repaired one of the mushroom switches, replaced burned up zipper flipper release coil, new flipper bats and elastics, new ball, cleaned the scoring reels, fixed a fussy light socket or two, removed a ton of grease off the zipper flipper mech so it now works, fixed some half assed wiring and adjusted 2-3 relays.

Now that it is functioning well (mostly) I have to pull the boards and go through everything to make it 100%

Working on stripping the blue paint off, original is still underneath and doesn't look like in bad shape.

This is a REALLY fun game, definitely going in the long term line up. I'm really starting to take a shine to these mid-60's Ballys.

Well, since today's a little misty here in Upstate, I took time and moved a few
machines around to get to Lariats lower cab. which Jay had said that he wouldn't
mind a few additional pics of. So I also took the time to take a few pics of some other
machines that I had pulled out..
Not a pinball, but a Bingo type gambling machine from I'd have to say the 50s.
It has wooden legs. I always hung onto it because it was made in somewhat neighboring
Ithaca, N.Y. which is around 1.5 hrs. from me..
I'll most likely get to it when the day comes when I have additional time on my hands..

I have a couple of the Bally EM Black Jacks which is pretty low production, but
this Williams from 1960 may be scene even less. The cab.s been painted, but with
the original having such a plan paint scheme, wouldn't be too much of a problem
bringing it back..
I'm thinking one day I'll be as far as I can get with my outdoor projects and will
primarily be working on machines..

This one certainly isn't in superb condition, but being Williams first Add-a-Ball,
I'm pleased to have it..
Years back, a run of I believe 12 glasses were made and a couple guys talked
him into not making it Skill Ball, but Add-a-Ball which was its first name (a few
machines did get produce with that title) until Gottlieb caught wind and quickly
did not allow it..
Since the machine that I have is not one of the much rarer original early production
runs of Skill Ball with the Add-a-Ball title, I wish he had done it Skill Ball..

Then I got to the Lariat. It's certainly not mint, but being one of Gottliebs true
2 player Add-a-Balls from the 60s, it's plenty good enough for me and honored
to have one..

Played one, it really is a fun player.

One game bell isn't bad, all those roll overs make the reels chatter like crazy and make their own music.

In my 10x15 foot space, 3 pins = 1 row. Happy to finally have a Gottlieb row

I love the EM's and agree to keep them from deteriorating I would go with the lem's also, but the white ones.

Got this one ironed out with a lot of help from the gurus here, didn't break as much stuff as I thought I would, but still managed to surprise myself ...

It came to me painted brown/tan and I am not sure what's left under it, been in 2 different finished basmenets entertaining kids and then grandkids for the last 30 yrs. 28222 plays.. and outside of bulbs changed, no maintenance was done... so there was a list of things to do...and learn!

I swear everyone of these Snow Queen pinballs I have seen are not working. I saw one sale that was around Cincinnati Ohio it didn't work and there is a question thread on it in the board somewhere. Another one around Cleveland Ohio again not working and looks so bad on the coin mechanism that I wanted to spray it with engine cleaner.

The Cincinnati one was also painted white not tan.

It was painted the same colour as the basement it came from, so I know its repainted... but it didn't have any stencil work so I figured ill try to give her some life.

If anyone has any questions about getting one working again, I'm pretty sure I can answer most of them.

Optimistically, it's a water-based paint and the brown can be scrubbed off. That's what I did to a pin fairly recently. Scrub pad and water. Lots of scrubbing. geez. But worth the effort! Looks closer to awesome again.

Argosy is my favorite Williams EM. Good find!

That has got to be the best backglass I have ever seen on a Argosy. Usually, all of the red is peeling and gone. That playfield looks very nice also. Congrats!

I've never played an Argosy. Really love the look of it though. That neat little wave artwork down by the flippers is sweet.

I have seen a couple and the backglass on each was in bad shape. That looks like a very nice example. Looks like it will be fun to play.
