Thanks for great tips!!

Quoted from pinballbrian:

Hey Odin ,like your skill pool glass, would like to see your machine when finished

Thanks! I was really on the fence about getting a second (or third) Skill Pool until I saw the pics especially of that original backglass. Once I saw pics of the back, I knew it had to be one of the nicest original survivors as we all know what most Skill Pool backglasses look like now.

It should be en route pretty soon along with 4 Square and a Stern Stars. Gotta treat yourself once in a while.

Latest addition to the line-up (1976 Gottlieb Volley). Some cosmetic work is in the offing; nevertheless, this example of Volley is playing well. Also, a better NOS backglass has not yet been installed. The internals are very clean (only 27,689 on the play meter).

My daughter plays varsity high school tennis. Any chance that this game will draw her into the hobby? She hasn't yet seen the game in the gameroom. But, I can already imagine her response: "Seriously, Dad? Good serve, but no."

Nice Volley! Not too much to do cosmetically beyond replacing the white rubber post caps and polishing the dull acorn post caps.

I'm lucky, my 16yr old daughter loves the EM games we have. By far her favorites are Beat the Clock and Fast Draw. Her daily routine is come home from school get a snack and decompress with 30 minutes of pinball. Then it's hit the books! She's already decided that she'd like her first house warming gift to be a pinball machine - she's my favorite!

That's funny. If it was themed after girls volley ball instead of tennis, even I might be interested in one.

I had to take pics of a Subway and had to move this 65 Bally to get to it..
A ways back I traded a game that I shopped out (Big Ben, that myself didn't
really care for) for this and at the time (before I had Lab Top) didn't really
know what I was getting, but because of its decent condition, and it has color,
I was happy with the trade. Its bonus scoring may be interesting..
I remember the older guy was sure happy to have a working machine (Big Ben). (T)

I was one acorn cap shy; perhaps I lost it. Thus, I placed those two incorrect white rubber post caps on the center plastic, rather than having a random incongruous white cap on another plastic. For the life of me, I couldn't believe that my vast parts supply did not include a single acorn cap!

Anyone want to sell me a single correct, original cap?

Didn't you acquire one production game and one sample game (overlay playfield with alternative art)?

#8666 2 years ago

Gerry,
Great to see you're back. I was concerned because of issues we discussed the last time I saw you.
"Bow and Arrow" is a great game. I had one once and kind of regret selling it. It was really nice. I sold it at the Allentown show several years ago.
I know who has it, and he really treasures it. It went to a good home, so that's a good thing.
Will you be coming to Allentown this year?

Lots of Volleys coming up lately. Yours looks extra nice. Nice grab.

That Champion from Nordamatic has art from Gottlieb's 300/Top Score. Is that the arrangement they had?

#8669 2 years ago

My first win! ...after a hundred games or so. The first replay is set at 1200, and I had only topped 800 once before. I like these 60's Williams

Edit. and I did Tilt on the last ball.

Hey Jr, thanks for the thoughts...Good to be back !!!

I will be at A town, cooler full of liquor, and a brand new Williams EM addiction

I agree, this one is made to take all your money. The art (bg) is so good, and it's so challenging, that you forget you're losing! A drop target hit puts your ball straight back at you down the drain, the out lanes are huge, you have 2" flippers...I love it!

#8675 2 years ago

Awww Bow N Arrow!!! I am jelly! Such an awesome machine. I will find a nice one some day.

Get yourself some more Williams pins and FINALLY sell me the World Fair pin, that I have been BEGGING to purchase from you! LOL

How did you tilt it with the tissue mod?

Hasn't been added to my last couple games. The training wheels are slowing being taken away

Leave it on Sittin' Pretty, that game is brutal.

April seems to be "Volley" month so here's the one I got recently. Great player........

Love the lower rebounds that score but are not kickers (like Jacks Open)

I can only assume that is correct as it is made with Gottlieb parts

I don't know how many reveals I can take. Cut the plastic off! I'll guess Surf Champ.

Pf should clean up nicely. Need to replace a dt too.......

#8693 2 years ago

Oh very nice! I have always been intrigued by that one. Sinbad is probably my favorite drop target game but being an EM guy I'd prefer EOT of the 3 variations.

Dirtflipper had me pick up two of these for him awhile back and then I saw this one come up for sale and thought I'd try one

Tell me this one didn't come from St. Louis? That's where a bunch of them seemed to end up.

I am scheduled to go look at an Eye of the Tiger tomorrow. I would be great to hear everyone's opinions about this games playability, looks, value, etc. Is this game sought after?

Yes! Quite a bit. Great player as well. I would love to own one one day, I think I like the art package just a little bit more than Sinbad and I'm also a sucker for the rarity behind this title. Not an easy one to find Vic and people want it. (So don't give too many details!) If you get it I can't wait to come over it play it.

Bring it home and try it out Vic. It's a good player and adds a little diversity to your collection. The DC-powered pops and flippers from these late-era Gotliebs make this game play faster than regular em's. As far as price I don't know - not enough of them comes up for sale to establish a good price. You won't have any trouble selling if you decide to because of the low production run.
