I always peer into an open garage door as I'm driving by, but I've never once seen a pin.
My brother once found a really nice "Bristol Hills" at a garage sale. Snagged it for very reasonable (read "cheep") too!

People keep telling me it'll take off the original,
but I always had good luck with 60 grit sandpaper..
I might give that a try after it gets here. Or maybe the week after that. May take some 2000 grit to this one's playfield in the morning and finish it up. As nice a condition it was in when it got here, it suffered from what most games this old do.
This was one serious insert re-glue project. Got them as good as can be.

I remember years back before Magic Eraser, someone brought me their
Fun Park and it had the dirtiest playfield ever seen. Beyond dirty (really).
After mild attempts, I gave up and used hand soap with scotch brite.
The paint had to of been tight. It cleaned up 90% with no paint loss..
2,000 grit? To make it extra smooth, or around the inserts?
BTW, nice looking older Williams..

this the stuff i use, i have tried quite a few things over the years and to date this is the best. make sure it is the "gel" version

That Volley has the normal playfield, yet a sample serial? My playmeter was 29k when I got it, along with the schematic taped to the door as well.

yes the normal pf on this one. not sure if all samples had the plastic pf. the arch on this one doesn't have a cert. but it looks as if it was
never applied so i can't bounce that number off the cab #
so i can not tell if the pf was swapped out at some point. the pf condition matches the rest of the game so i guess i will never know
Just checked the serial number db and I see your entry, but nothing earlier, and no other playfield pics from other samples. Hmm.

i used denatured alcohol, and a towel..

it is one of my top 5 wedgeheads, always glad to fine a nice example of any game. these days it is rare to find nice examples. most have been collected years ago. so what is left in the wild are good to poor examples
Back of Ship Ahoy.
This is the one I was excited about getting and of course it is being cranky. Cleaned a bunch of contacts, found some maladjusted relays, voltages are good... and no response when coined up. Going to have to obtain a wiring diagram and check the start sequence to figure out what is going on..
I think Gottliebs just don't like me. Williams, Bally, Chicago Coin? No problem, can bring them back from the dead in an hour.
Gottlieb? They just snicker at my EM kungfu skills. Evil.

First thing I checked, one was a little bound up. Small shot of PB Blaster and its working fine now. Need to look close at a few things before proceeding..
Just got my first machine today, after a six hour drive Super Score from Gottlieb landed in my garage. The 1967 game seems quite original with a roulette wheel and all. Prior owner says it only hums when turned on so know I will be trouble-shooting for a while. Any tips on where to start would be very helpful! #superscore #gottlieb

Just stopped by Vic Camp's and got in a few games on my former gem "Golden Arrow". I had consecutive scores of 99,110 and 99,120!
I'm asking myself why I ever sold this game, but Vic ending up with it is the very best alternative.

i find GA in the same boat as C37 great lookers but much to easy to beat on a regular basis.
I'm kinda losing interest in C37. Love the art but have heard many times that it's too easy to beat.

I think we just need to figure out how to have it reset the numbers after the first special... but then you would lose track of the score easily rolling it over. That said, I still very much enjoy playing mine on a regular basis.
Hey Odin ,like your skill pool glass,would like to see your machine when finished ,just about done with my basket case find on Craigslist.could not save orig artwork on mine so gave it simple graphics.turning out better than first thought.sorry I don't have any advice on paint remover,but I would try gel in small place.boilerman suggested. i tried many was to make it harder without a major hack. i did manage to make it a tad harder by making it 5 ball rules on 3 balls but it wasn't enough to make it a keeper.. i had 3 of them over the course of a few years so i did give it many chances. i know a lot of people really like it, just was not a keeper for me.

Beat regularly, as in 'score', or the ability to win a special after completing the rotation?
GA lets you keep the ball going, but completing the objective isn't easy, for me anyway.

"score" about 8 out of 10 times
"special" about 6 if not 7 out of 10 times
and that with the pitch way up
Centigrade 37 and Golden Arrow are fantastic looking machines and pretty good players. They're on the easier side for wedgeheads (GA is a little harder to hit specials if you can't plunge the 2 or 3), but I enjoy both and they keep me coming back to play. Especially after playing Drop-A-Card and wanting to hit my head against the wall. That is the most deceptive wedgehead in my opinion.

drop a card is a game that can play its self at times (due to the sling kickers).

Agreed. I don't mind not being able to trap the ball on the flipper (love 2" flipper games), but when I do get a flip it's so unaimed on this machine for some reason. So satisfying when you can get that rare game with all targets down, hit a few specials, and actually have a good score.
