the picture looks bluer that it really is. up close it has more of an aqua color not blue
Agreed, I just did a Surfer and painted that whole triangular section where the ball lands from the kick out hole. Almost impossible to just do the worn spot with all the color shifts of yellowing laquer from sun, dirt, smoke, etc. Mixed green with the blue, also black and white until a good match is achieved.

I came here for the reveal! Why must you torture us so?
I sent Michelle Bianchi an email but I have yet to hear back. I am guessing this holiday weekend will delay things a bit.
Just picked up two pins from a body shop in Fitchburg MA. Some guy brought in his hot rod for some body work and couldn't come up with the cash to pay his bill, so the owner of the body shop took the pins as partial payment.
I only have room for one pin. Which is the better player?

I'm a Gottlieb guy and would vote for Vulcan/Fire Queen.
The angle of the drops on Vulcan intrigue me. I never played one but I can see hitting the lowers and it continuing on and dropping the uppers

It comes with the territory.

KEEP the Gottlieb Fire Queen / Vulcan
Fire Queen for the theme, but long term I think Hokus would edge it out as the better player. Really dislike the artwork though.
I'd go Vulcan. Just love the look of that pin. But you can't lose either way. Hocus has such spinner greatness.
explain how this happens? the head is in great shape, nice and white no bump or scrapes, bg good with a few edge spots
the cab yellowed, scrapes and WHAT a big rotten hole?
the pf is nice, no wear one broken plastic
and before you think it YES the numbers match
i am not much of a believer in the play meter number but it is a tick above 26K
now i not only need a surf champ head but i need a volley body

To venture a guess, the right side was jammed against a water supply pipe. Condensation on the metal pipe, and vibration of the pipe over time caused that damage.

could of been, i just a shame because if it was stored correctly like the head it would of been a nice game.
Quoted from Electrocute:It'll be nice again.
i am sure it will be BUT i need an intervention because i keep telling myself NO MORE projects and they keep coming in.
i just can't help myself, i need to get my pinball fix!

It won't let up until you find something else to demand your time. There's nothing quite like bringing a game back to life to live on so pinball survives for future generations.

Yeah, all those great old games brought back by us old guys. All those games left for Otaku, et al. My, my my!
Quoted from Darcy:Looking at the before after, looks like in the after, all of the aqua has been changed to blue.
darcy here is a better picture in true day light and you can see not so blue.
Quoted from jrpinball:Yeah, all those great old games brought back by us old guys. All those games left for Otaku, et al. My, my my!
Nieces and nephews will get mine. Got 15

Yeah, but will they want them?

Your assessment looks very plausible based on the evidence. You should be a forensic investigator!

The colour change is an optical effect. Different light sources. Years ago, Fuji and Kodak films produced different shades of blue and green. The differences in monitor adjustments can also change stuff up. The more blue photo was taken indoors with either fluorescent or those new high density low voltage tube lights, that their light wave re-acts differently than sunlight.
All is good, I was not meaning it was repainted, just that, in the posted image it looked bluer.
Quoted from jrpinball:Yeah, but will they want them?
Yeah, especially the Wade Krause's

When I saw Ct., I was thinking Kick Off which is one
(actually I have 2) that I have. To me, it's a pretty
underrated machine.. Nice player.. (T)

Of all that I have owned Kick Off was one of my favorites. A challenging game that kept my attention for quite a few years.
I haven't had one set up for awhile now, but I remember my main goal was
to get high points, although I tried to get a high score so I would get added
balls so I could get higher points. When it was set up, I played that at least as
much as any other..

There is actually a Kickoff for sale in NY, I was tempted to buy it just to work through the problems this one had.
No need now, I think I got it mostly sorted out and will be starting on cosmetics after another day or two.
It is a very fun game to play!

work just installed all new high out put LED lights and removed those sodium vapor. nice and bright but made the aqua look blue
i did not think you thought i repainted it just pointing out it looked blue
Quoted from gdonovan:There is actually a Kickoff for sale in NY,
If fairly close and a decent price, maybe not a bad thing to do..
I had a Touchdown also, and like all the others so far, I lean toward
the add-a-balls. I have two Kick Offs, both nice. One is waiting
for a future trade..
Quoted from Mopar:Huge thumbs up! Let us know the differences..
the sample volley had the biggest pf art change than an other game i can think of
the photo below is #01016s from IPDB mine unfortunately doesn't have that pf not sure all samples had the plastic playfield overlay glued to particle board
Quoted from Electrocute:Sample game?
Yeah, like the second one off the line!
Man, where do you guys find these games?
Quoted from jrpinball:Man, where do you guys find these games?
Could that have been out in the wild!?
Quoted from jrpinball:Yeah, like the second one off the line!

i picked the 1st one up in the morning
the second one i drove past a yard sale and i saw a glimpse of it sticking out of a shed,
jackpot!
Quoted from boilerman:jackpot!
The Jackpot probably wasn't much more than the one this morning,
or maybe less?
Quoted from boilerman:i picked the 1st one up in the morning

Just happened to see it, huh? I wish I was that lucky!
Quoted from jrpinball:Just happened to see it, huh? I wish I was that lucky!
i always scan yard sales as i drive by but in my 20 years of collecting this is the FIRST time i ever saw one.
they said a lot of people looked at it but really had no interest in it. i asked how long they had it they said as long as they could remember it was always there. his dad had it when they moved into the house in the 70's
Quoted from jrpinball:Just happened to see it, huh?
Yeah, I was thinking garage, but he did say "shed"..
Quoted from Mopar:Yeah, I was thinking garage, but he did say "shed"..
the shed was at the head of the drive way, so when you drive by you could see the shed. you guy know a pin can jump out at you when you are not even looking. i can't tell you how many times i pause the tv because i saw a pin in the background.
