Yep! Been watching this Topic like a hawk, since yesterday. But the info on #7999 is important.
Quoted from jrpinball:Thanks to "cantbfrank", I nabbed this Gottlieb "Poker Face". I spent all day today cleaning it up and evaluating what it will need. Plastics and a backglass for sure. Has the wrong arch gate, and those are hard to come by. It's a worthy project, but it's going to be back in the queue a bit. Luckily, Shay is doing a repro backglass. Ron Webb did it several years ago, but they're long gone. Overall it's pretty sound considering it's age.
JR it cleaned up nicely. I wish I could say the same for myself.

I didn't even do anything with the playfield except pull off a couple of dead rubbers and vacuum it off. Cleaned the cabinet pretty good. It was really filthy. Even the top glass cleaned up pretty well, but of course will be replaced.

Yes, that expanded list is great. Neat to see all the titles listed anyway. Some great games on pages 2&3.
Poor Bally El Toro!
LOL El Toro... the eternal scapegoat. It's hardly THAT bad. I'd rather have it than Roller Coaster or Stock Car or Aquarius or geez... a lot of 'em. Like the look of it too.
Crazy list. Orbit better than Volley? 4 Million BC worse than Pop-A-Card? We need a few thousand more votes, methinks. :p :p :p
Sonic Butterfly the #2 rated EM?
There are lots better Sonic pins out there,
but when you only have 3 or 4 ratings, things can get lopsided easily.

Nah, any Gottlieb wedgehead is better than Bally "El Turdo"! Even "Stock Car" and "Big Casino". "Rollercoaster"? Yeah, maybe.
I just look at the number of ratings a pinball machine gets. All of the machines that get many ratings seem good. Fireball gets the most.
I'm glad my collection looks nothing like the pinside EM top 50. I have only two of them.
I guess I'd rather be a player than a rater.

Is "The Wiggler" one of them? I think you also mentioned at one time that you had a "Dodge City".
Quoted from Electrocute:Is "The Wiggler" one of them? I think you also mentioned at one time that you had a "Dodge City".
I have never found a Wiggler and kind of gave up looking. Dodge City was a decent game, but went away when I got something else.
The only two from the top 50 I still own are River Boat and Heat Wave. But I've had several of the others. If they are not getting played, they hit the road.
Quoted from Electrocute:I thought you loved Dodge City, I'll never sell mine!
Dodge City was a good multiplayer but I can only have so many where only one player gets the jackpot after the big build up. And I kept two of them. Fashion Show turned out to be more popular with the players that come here. So it stayed.
Quoted from Electrocute:Can't sell the game I remember playing as a kid and seeing it destroyed by vandals.
I hear that! Most of the games I played as a kid in the 70s I find much too easy now. None of them left in my collection either.

4 Million BC is a desirable Pin I'd like to find.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:A few I picked up this weekend these took over 5 years to close the deal. My wife found these and tried to get them for me as a birthday years ago that didn't work out but the family remembered us when it was time to sell.
Worth the wait!
Quoted from o-din:Fashion Show turned out to be more popular with the players that come here.
good to know, have one arriving this coming saturday

You're gonna need to build a new building
Quoted from TopMoose:Didn't know where to post this, but I had to brag a little
You should add that score with your photo to the High Scores section.
Quoted from GreyScale:Very nice. Buccaneer is my favorite EM ever and I've always wanted to play Delta Queen.
Played Delta Queen as a teenager in 1974 really sucked a lot of quarters from my pockets. It was my first pin and it'll never be FS (I had a chocolate lab pass away under the pin. )
Quoted from TopMoose:Didn't keep track, but I must have earned about 10 specials.
Don't forget that it keeps track for you!
Oh Oh! David and Alvin Gottlieb are looking down on me in disbelief. Pictures will be posted this weekend.
I didn't make that 24 hour round trip to Virginia, instead had STI deliver it. Worked on this "project" Volley for about 3 hours and got it fully functioning. It's gonna be a nice machine! I'll start working on Ding Dong tomorrow, the playfield looks awesome.

Nice nab. Enjoy it.
This is my Balls-a-Poppin game, Bally 1956. After I found some small parts of this game at internet, I decided to build and assemble missing parts myself and reconstruct a complete Balls-a-Poppin game. I built the whole machine from scratch! (took me a year to complete project).

Good for you and looks it was well worth it. Your machine looks very nice..
I myself not so much into woodrails, but I do have a few and have a B-a-P
coming in April. How do you like its game play?
Absolutely beautiful machine! Can we see more pictures? I know that game seems to be ultra rare. Thanks for posting pictures.

Nice work.
There has to be a great story behind this game that we would love to hear/see. Any chance you'd be inclined to expound on your game and the efforts you went through to create it?
That's a Nice looking game. Hard to find too from what I understand. Also does multi ball if I have been informed correctly. Haven't seen one in action.

It's a freaking blast to play. When the wild balls start a-poppin' I just can't help but laugh. Shit gets crazy with balls going everywhere.
I saw the play and reconstruction in this thread :
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/balls-a-poppin-reconstruction
Yes - the mulitball is crazy. Very cool.
See I missed #8000 by a few days. Just wanted to say thanks to this thread and all the EM guys out there. Have always been a great help, and keep me going on trying to fix my Argosy.
Now back to the pictures!
Hey Guys,
I'm pretty much a new-b to this side of the tracks , but been around a while .
So what do you think about Bally Air Aces ?
I think have tracked down a pretty darn nice one , no idea what a fair price would even be on this machine or even what to definitely check prior to purchase . Or if it totally sucks as a pin.
Let me know here or PM me either way .
Quoted from jrpinball:"Aquarius" is really cool looking but not much of a player. Still better than "El Toro".
This ^, I agree ElToro is a suckfest of Biblical Proportions. Aquarius is bad but better than El Turdo or Bally Joust .

When I get home I'll quote you pinballerics price guide. Also IPDB ratings are good references for game play for the most part. I'm a Gottlieb guy but I have 2 Bally's and they get played regularly.

Cool, let me know when you have time, any and all info.
Going to look in person on Tuesday
arrived today via a container imported from germany back into australia.
game works but has a damaged perspex backglass around the credit wheel..have ordered and payed for a repro from backglass resto..
going through a phase of multi player 1960s gottlieb pins.
Did someone put the revolving bonus score wheel on upside down/backwards?
I played O-din's a few weeks ago, and grew to appreciate it more than before, but still think
it a bit limited in gameplay, basically a one shot game.
Quoted from RWH:Speaking of EM collections, has anyone seen or heard from the young man on here who goes by Otaku on pinside? Sent him a couple pm's with no response and when I looked him up he's not been on the site since the end of January. Thought it was funny cause he was on here a lot.
Russ
Quoted from boilerman:he was flamed over a post he made about bgresto
i think he took everyone's advice and took a break
Quoted from dasvis:Maybe he is still butt hurt over the Steve at PBR thing. Kids.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:Yea.....he took that kind of hard.
I was just on vacation, no need for conspiracy theories! (And no urge to look at Pinside so I didn't)
I sent you a PM as soon as I got back Russ - hope you got it.
Quoted from illawarra92:newest in the lineup..great playing game..really love the multi players from the 1960's
Mayfair is one of my favorite games in my collection. It will kick your ass over and over and scoring over 1,000 is definitely possible but not easy and not something that happens every game.
Mine was painted over white - yours looks really nice with the proper paint on the head. It looks so simple, I wonder how much of a waste of time it would be just to paint the front of the head since it's sandwiched between other games anyways.
Somebody here sent me drawn out stencils on like a clear plastic film but they're not cut so I guess you're suppose to trace them on paper and THEN cut them out to "use" them, but that's a loooot of circles to transfer over!
