Nope, probably been gone the last 15 years or so, had some ancient dried out brown thick tape over the hole when i got it.
Took me an hour to get that off + almost a full can of Label-Off for the residue LOL

to bad now you will have to find another bg. good thing they made over 7000 of them your chances are pretty good you'll find one in good shape at a good price

Well, i live in Sweden now and the pinballmarket over here isnt exactly as big as the US one on EM games, so even if they made 127000 of them i will probably have a hard time to find one cheap.

I'd burn the others for heat before I'd sell that! It's funny because I was wanting one, had a guy tell me he was looking for one and I told another guy about that and he said he was looking for one. So thinking I'd never come across one, I said "well he asked first so if I find one f him it's yours." So then I found one and I'm an ass because I kept it so if I do get rid of it it's his if he doesn't already have one

Picked up this near perfect Buccaneer at the Atl show a couple of weeks ago.
Claimed to be HUO and digging into it I believe it. 7800 plays. Unbelievably clean inside.

I played Buccaneer when I was in college and was able to pick up a nice one a year ago, love it.

I like your line up Elvis, and I think a lot of us would like to play with Annie (did at the PHoF). For now, I'll have to settle for that Pin-Up, just restored one myself.

"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to bring back another two player game"

Hey, I'm not too picky when it comes to cabinet paint as long as it comes with a decent backglass and playfield. And this one did!

It's not perfect but it is a pretty fun to play game. When my buddy gets here later we'll see how it is for competition. I think it will fit right in.

That looks great!! Pin rescue plastics and it looks like your Webb glass is nicer than mine too. Mine is still in the works, was stored with no back door and was VERY dirty inside, BIG project! I haven't been in much of a hurry, bleached my posts with peroxide in the window for a year, they came out awesome.

#6524 7 years ago

original glass, actually touched up a bit next to the ten thousands window, also minor touch ups on the cabinet, but thanks for the compliments!

I think your timeline might be a little flawed, it is the uv that causes the reaction in the sealed bottle. It would for sure be long worthless in a year, I did change it three times between. I am aware there were periods of time where it wasn't doing much. There are posts and threads about it, bleaching plastic with hydrogen peroxide for extended periods of time with sunlight. I am completely ok with you thinking i'm stupid in mind or action.

Here's a couple of shots of the progress I'm making on my Williams Hot Line restoration. Obviously the one picture is of the cab before I stripped it down, but the head condition was similar. I did go a bit darker with the blue on the repaint, I think it's a much richer color and makes the backglass really pop. That's a bgresto glass repro.

#6532 7 years ago

excellent work!
the blue only looks a tad darker. blue tends to get a little lighter with fade so i think you were pretty close

I got this here Bally Sea Ray I'm working on for a customer.

Pretty cool game. The artwork is a matter of taste...I like it for what it is, the fish and sea rays are pretty cool.

As far as the game play it's pretty fun. It's got a typical oddball Bally ruleset where the match unit controls almost all of the features so there's a lot of dumb luck involved as far as scoring and lighting EB and ball save gate. Seems like a good strategy is to bang on the center post mushroom bumper if you have a high value lit (by chance of course), especially if the gate is open. The "bonus" isn't an end of ball bonus, you build it up and cash it in on the right lane or the top hole. An interesting thing is if you get shoot again, this does NOT reset, and you can collect it with a skill shot. Never seen that before on a multiplayer EM.

I give this machine 7 abstract pointy people and freaky claw submarines out of 10. That's pretty high for an old Bally I hate most of them.

Getting it working was a little tough but this one is simple so none of the usual "that makes no fucking sense were you on qualudes when you designed this Bally?!" issues. Mostly stepper units - the ball count unit was dirty and took LOTS of cleaning, and same with the match unit - none of the alternating or scoring features were working I had to clean and adjust it. Also upgraded and completely rebuilt the flippers they are super snappy now, much better than when it was brand new I'm sure.

Thanks, Dave. My memory of it as a kid was that the blue was a touch lighter, and I could have probably matched it, but I thought the just a shade darker blue just is more rich and vibrant. The head was fairly rough, had the usual separation at the corners that Williams games seem to get, needed a lot of gluing and filling to get it looking better. The game has a silver spatter instead of a webbing, so I had to add that in too, taking care not to make it too heavy. On to the cab now, getting ready to do the necessary filling and sanding.

Completed a repaint today of my GTB 1971 Roller Coaster. This was a poor condition non working machine I picked up late last year. It had just an awful paint job. I managed to remove sufficient paint using a paint remover (the key seemed to be to remove the wrinkled paint at just the right time so only the top layer was removed). This revealed the original graphics from which I prepared stencils on tracing paper. The base, yellow & magenta colours were matched from my C37. This machine had quite light webbing which I have re-created. Overall I am happy with result-thks to Ken (pinhead52) for his terrific advice. Now to the rest.

Yes, I'm aware of the peroxide method for whitening posts, etcetera, but I don't think it takes a year to get them white! I'm glad you got the desired result, and I did not intend to express or imply any deficiency on your part. Best of luck to you!

Man this is fast becoming the "Show us your mad EM restoration skills" thread! Nice work everyone.

Stashy... at first glance I thought the apron "credit when lit" was a creative touch of your own. But I see this must be standard on some of the exports. Regardless it's a nice touch.

Have you ever considered adding cabaret lights under the top arch? I do that to all my pins & my pal added it to his King Pin as well. Will share photos soon...

#6543 7 years ago

Not just export AABs from Gottlieb, but domestic games too. I like to keep them mostly stock, but occasionally play with colored bulbs/LEDS such as the stock cabaret lights on my other latest restoration Palooka. I also have red LEDS under the already orange rollover button inserts.

Yes, and yes! You can be about to drain on the last ball and hit the center target for 1000 pts (perhaps earning an extra ball) and the lit extra ball.....bam!-bam! The cabinet needed some love (they all seem to flake/plank due to the solid wood), but was in pretty decent shape to begin with. The coin door had a tattered sticker indicating it served our military on an Air Force or Reserve base back in the day. That might explain a bit why it was in such nice condition-respect and discipline from the troops? I am very happy with it and will reside between two wedge heads in my future game room some day.
