Looks like duct tape to me. No lockdown bar.

#4952 3 years ago
Quoted from stashyboy:

Latest effort in my pinball cabin. Client game, was previously repainted. LEDS in backbox per his addition. I removed them from the play field (blindness causing!) Plays 100% except for one small lane guide on order. The 60s games are a ton of work compared to 70s games IMO

Wow, a repaint where the webbing actually looks great! I hate webbing in a can, or splatter where there should be webbing; nice job.

You're right. I blew the picture up and it is duct tape.

Yep. Duct Tape. The world's greatest repair tool.

But I'd still to find a OEM lockdown bar. haha

For now my wedgehead line up is complete and I am super happy. Bowling Queen will get a new coin door, but that's it...
This was already there...

I've been watching your posts regarding your EM accumulation with interest.

I was in Ulm and Munich last week and it was all I could do to not invite myself over to your house to experience EM's in Germany. We actually traveled through Stuttgart on our way to Heidelberg one day but it was too long a day already to try and make a side trip.

Nice collection you have there. Enjoy.

Funny you should say that Don. In fact, the 'webbing' is drawn on with a pencil! It looks ok, from a distance, but if you know what it should look like, far from original........ As I mentioned, this was done previously through a well know restoration company.

That is one well traveled KoD. Congrats!

NAVL dropped off Capersville today...intact! Thanks boilerman. He did a lot of the grunt work on this one but I told him I'd like to finish the job. So here it is. All I can say is this thing is pretty wild. That playfield will clean up nicely.

Yes it's a globetrotter

@MIKEO or any pinball enthusiasts who come over to good old germany... you are invited to invite yourself

Just drop me an email and i will do my best to find some time to have some pinball fun!

Here is Elvis playing Diamond Lill in 1956 I believe. Will be going next to my Diamond Lill when I can get it in the house.

Being so happy with the KoD - again thanks Nic! I decided to setup my second (and last) import from the US.

Using a voltage converter everything worked instantly absolutely seamsless... Mars Trek - maybe not only Sonics best player but also best looking machine...

Many thanks to Jay for selling this beauty!

That Mars Trek is neat. What's up with the side art on the backbox - applied on the wrong side or something?

Glad it got there safe and sound!

I acquired that KOD as part of a trade. It was the first (and thus far only) one leaving my stable which hadn't received "the treatment" (clear coat, stealth LED, total rebuild, etc.). Which made me a little nervous because even though it was an award-winning game in good condition... *I* hadn't put my hands on it. Nevertheless it looked clean, played well, and was obviously serviced recently so I'm glad it worked out.

Next trip to Stuttgart I'm coming by for a visit!

BTW, I saw a Mars Trek at ReplayFX last weekend. Fun, fast game and great artwork.

It's pretty amazing what you can find sometimes under a 40 year old layer of ground in dirt.

Here are some pictures of my newly acquired 1955 EM Bally Bingo Pinball called Gay Time. I picked up this low played beauty in a package deal from a top of the line collector from Sparta NJ in July. This game came from Ohio recently and the owner was an older man in his late 80's that had the game for over 50 years. He was a customer of Jeffrey Lawton who serviced the game throughout the years he owned it.

It is in remarkable original condition and the best condition original 1950's woodrail bingo i have ever laid eyes on. Just the other day i sold the Gay Time from my collection that i thought was extra clean and low played, but after cleaning up this one i noticed it was in better condition. Check it out....

Yes. We wanted to get an EM and I saw this and my Wife really liked the Colours. Get that one she said. A friend of mine said if your Wife says get anything pinball related, just do it before she changes her mind.

I just picked up this 1961 Lancers. I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet ...

Here's a video of my 1969 Williams Expo EM pinball after restoration. I always enjoyed playing this game but it was slow and the pop bumpers would barely send the ball off in another direction. During the restore I paid extra special attention to the pop bumpers, all five of them. They were completely disassembled and cleaned. New nylon coil sleeves were purchased to replace the old aluminum sleeves. Yes, this machine had aluminum coil sleeves. The plungers were lightly sanded with 400 grit sandpaper to get some of that black patina off of them. The spoon switches were set tight. The flipper and slingshot coil sleeves were also replaced with nylon sleeves to improve performance. The playfield was Mylared and waxed. The back 3" leg levelers were set high and the front leg levelers were set low for maximum playfield ball speed.

The result was amazing! This is how the machine must have played back in the early '70s - and I didn't need to replace any other parts to put real "POP" back into the pop bumpers.

Who says these EMs can't be fast and fun? You really can breathe life back into these old games! Expo now plays every bit as good as it looks.

I use a touchup spray gun.. takes longer to set, then clean up then it does to do the webbing.
the results are well worth the effort.
my 65.00 roller coaster is almost done

Except minus the webbing on my cabinet. It requires the splatter technique.

Sounds good to me. I did my Sky Jump cabinet and Wade did the webbing with a spray gun like you did. Came out nice and looked like it came from the factory.

Which gun do you own Dave? I see several cheap ones on Ebay, or name brand ones for 3-4 times the price of cheap ones......

man that Gottlieb Golden Arrow looks fine. I just finished bringing a GA back to life and it's been getting played more than the 90 DMDs . . .

I forgot how the EMs played, as I haven't had one since the 80's

#4995 3 years ago

Thanks for the nice comment on my Golden Arrow. It doesn't surprise me that your GA is getting a played a lot. I'm really enjoying the game play. Here are couple more pic's.
