Quoted from StratDoc:Resurrecting this just for advice.
I have been working on a Gottlieb Hot Shot. Everything working, but flippers even after rebuild weak - normal coils, proper EOS spacing, spring tension good. I decided to high tap the pin. What a world of difference. Flippers and slings not overpowering but certainly a much more enjoyable game. Prior to setting voltage to high tap I could barely get a ball to the top of the pf and the slings just bounced the ball between the two.
I checked the schematics and no bulbs are on the right side/coil side of the schematics so am I safe to assume that all bulbs are running off 6v? I don't really see a difference in bulb brightness with high tap.
You might want to check your line voltage. There's no reason a properly shopped game should be playing as sluggishly as you describe on normal tap if the line voltage is adequate.
