Im fixing up an old campus queen for a friend of mine. (He got is when he was 16). The thing diddent boot up at al. After cleaning all the switches. It only plays when you engage the play section by hand then it only plays player 4. And it does this

Also the left flipper opens the left upper gate.

Anny tips ?

First thing is to find out where that noise is coming from. If the noise is from the Outhole solenoid repeatedly trying to send the ball over to the shooter lane, it could be a mechanical problem.

Likely a score motor switch. Do you have the schematic?

In my experience when ems exhibit bizarre behavior like this, it is usually a jones plug issue. Make sure the right plugs are in the right sockets in the right direction. I know it's usually hard to plug them in wrong, but it happens a lot...

The sound is indeed the score motor that keeps roling. And i cant find the scematics.

If you have an EM machine you need to have the schematics. Order from Pinball Resource. http://www.pbresource.com/

So one of the jones plugs WAS pluged in wrong (moved a row) i also cleaned all the score reels. When i hit the reset circuit everything resets exept for the player reel.
I also had to increase the tension on the match unit wich now works again. I dont think the coils are broken. Anny tips where i should look ? Alos the game sometimes does not start and i have to move the play relay. And it still does not kick out the ball.
