Quoted from bigehrl:9 elvira toppers = 1 Avengers LE. just for perspective.
For even more perspective, it’s 250 large “party size” bags of Cool Ranch Doritos!

Quoted from chooch:Levi is very proud that nobody has made any sexual references for a topper this expensive. Is pinside turning over a new leaf ?
Good point.
I guess we are all growing up!
Quoted from Hayfarmer:I bought a topper for maiden from a guy on this site. Very happy with it, it's sound activated and was under $300. Hope someone does for this game as well
Nobody wants no bullshit bootleg toppers. I mean they are cute, and good for the poor among us who can’t afford the real thing, but they just have no juice.
Better pony up the $1,000 if you want any topper respect!
Quoted from rotordave:Nope! Not Stern, anyway.
200 x $999 = $200,000
Just randomly, say they make $500 profit a topper, just to pick a figure. So BOM is $500. (Again, just a random figure, to illustrate the point)
So 200 toppers is $100,000 profit.
If they drop the price to $699, that’s now only $200 profit a topper.
To make the same profit as they would on the 200x $999 topper, they’d need to sell 500 units.
Why would you want to make 500 units when you can only make 200?
And would they sell 500 units at $699? Probably not.
And, the staff resources that would be spent making those extra 300 toppers can be spent making $699 plastic Jurassic Park toppers, etc etc. More money. Companies like to make money.
Stern knows there are 200 people who don’t care that these are $999. That’s why they are $999.

The Rolling Stones figured this out decades ago.
In 1989, they played SIX sold NYC stadium shows for $30 a ticket. THat's about 300,000 tickets and 14 hours of on stage work.
Last year, the Stones played ONE NYC stadium show, and there was never a point where you couldn't actually buy a ticket from the box office. The cheapest ticket was probably around $150, and the top tickets were in insane thousands level...most "good" seats were at least $400.
Are they less popular? Are they selling fewer tickets? Who gives a shit...they are making the same amount of money for doing one sixth of the work, and they don't have to play 6 nights in a row in between blood cleansings for Keith.
Point is big corporations like the Stones and Stern are happy to manufacture fewer and make more money. Cause like Peck says, they like money!
Quoted from mcluvin:For $1K I'm thinking this should be some sort of robotic attachment to the coin door area. Instead of getting f***ed by Stern, you get s***ed by Stern, or a robotic head that maybe kinda looks sorta like Elvira. It doesn't even need to talk, but if it could say "Mmm.." and make a brief gagging sound every now and then, that would be cool.
Ha! Well it took 6 pages but finally we went to the "For that price it should have sex with me!" well.
Congrats! You win nothing. Also wanting to have sex with your pinball machine is extremely deviant behavior and you should keep those thoughts to yourself.
Quoted from NPO:Yeah, enjoy that price increase from $4800 in 2014 to almost $6000 in 2020, and you get the "training wheels" version of the game.
But you get 3 game options a year so that makes it all better!!
Your anger is misplaced.
Nobody sells a cheaper full-size commercial pinball machine than Stern and it isn't even close. WHy aren't you bitching at every other manufacturer? Their games are all much more expensive.
