The one at Pinballz Lake Creek does it too.
There should be an adjustment on the bottom side. Probably a slot in one side of the bracket that will allow you to change the direction of the kickout. It should be hitting one of the flippers. Page 86 in your manual shows the assembly. I don't see an adjustment, you may have to loosen the mounting screws and turn it slightly or possibly parts have worn and it's no longer kicking the way the designer intended so it needs a rebuild.
