I like Elvira and campy horror stuff in general (TFTC), but agree there is no need for another Elvira pin at this point in time, when so many other great theme ideas haven't been explored yet.

But... it is a safe bet to make one, and sales are baked into the pin community already, so it will be made just like all the dinosaur rock pins keep being made. So I understand why a new one would be made from a sales perspective. As long as pins are selling, all is well. I'd just like to see some fresh material.

Quoted from o-din:

I'm sensing many in the over 50 crowd tuned out when it was on. Including myself. So that leaves the 30-40 something crowd the were the horndogs watching it at the time. Maybe a mommy complex or something? I couldn't tell ya.

If liking nice boobies is a mommy complex, then mark me down for one of those.

Quoted from o-din:

I'm getting it now. When I was a kid we had Jeannie, and I just couldn't look away....

I used to watch that on Nick at Night reruns when I was a kid, and I didn't like the show, so there you go.

Quoted from o-din:

Well when you were young, didn't you have Clarissa?

I'm 36. Clarissa was a bit later. Cassandra was definitely what I would catch late at night watching TV after the parents went to bed. I distinctly remember staying up intentionally to watch it on multiple occasions.

Quoted from Frax:

Yeah, whatever dude. I get T&A...just not ancient T&A. I didn't 'get it' when I was younger, because by the time I'd ever even heard of Elvira, porn existed. As I got older, I was never attracted to the whole goth thing, still am not, and the combination of the character's "valley girl" (very appropriate comparison whoever said that) attitude with the goth thing is just... ugh. I understand that most guys like their women dumber than a sack of ball peen hammers, and to each their own, but I'll always prefer substance over flash.

I don't think we're talking about marriage material here, just eye candy discussion. Most guys don't prefer dumb, at least I've never met anyone that has to date.

ancient T&A?

We're both 36. This was prime-time for Elvira. Sure, you'd find magazines no problem at that age. I guess I didn't discriminate as much. I'm talking like age 8-12 here.

Quoted from DanQverymuch:

The only crap in this thread is the blatant, uncalled-for disparagement of a perfectly fine pinball theme.

I like crap because it makes things interesting around here.

And there are never any exaggerated boobs on pinball machines.

You're right. I never noticed how busty McCoy was.

Quoted from wayout440:

You were born just wayyyyyy too late. For us who were in our twentysomethings, the eighties were the best time of our lives, and the world was ours!

Even being a kid in the 80's pretty much kicked ass. It wasn't until I was in College that the PC culture really started spreading and parents started having "play dates" for their kids instead of turning them loose outside. Now kids don't even want to drive or own a car, because meh, smartphone.

Not sure why this is related to cellphones, though.

Cause they live on them. No need to go anywhere. Live vicariously through others doing fun stuff. Maybe they'll all grow up to have good imaginations at least.

Quoted from robin:

The title of this thread ("Elvira, who is still into this crap?") and the negativity of the opening post really annoy me. I mean, there is nothing wrong with stating an opinion (after all, this is a discussion forum). If you don't like Elvira then that's totally fine.
But there are a lot of ways to ask others how they feel about a theme, instead of insulting everyone who likes Elvira's games as being "horny old men". Throwing around words like "crap" and "garbage" - not really a constructive start of a discussion.
I for one look forward to what Nordman comes up with. I enjoy the campy humor of Elvira and it's got a lot more going for it than some of the recent cookie cutter themes. All in my humble opinion of course.

Robin, nobody cares about your opinion. Just kidding. Ban me.
