Quoted from AlexSMendes:

Come on o-din , just admit once and for all that the thing you want most is a Justin Timberlake pinball machine to go along with @chittow's most desired Selena Gomes slot machine!

Not really.

But since we now have a young dude with a cell phone pin, is it too much to ask for a hot young chicks without cell phones pin?

#102 6 years ago

When I was in Vegas I discovered the Elvira video slot machine. It had a huge screen with all Elvira shots. This guy was putting huge amounts of money in this game and was soooo exited playing it and losing every time. I asked what the big deal was and he said" just look at those tits". I asked him if he realized that those tits were 75 years old and probably sagged down to her belly button if they hadn't need enhanced. He said he didn't care and continued to throw money in the game. I just laughed and went on. My wife though both of us were weird.

I hope they do a good job on Elvira 3 and finish the code. I would like to have one if it is fun.

#103 6 years ago

Why does anyone get worked up, or even listen to somone that would bring a sf2 pinball machine in their home?

Edit: BW a "loaner?" bwhaahahaha

Now that you mentioned it, wouldn't it be so fun a pin full with hot anime chicks?

I'm not going along with anything that a creepy clown suggests.

Certainly more pleasing to the eye than the 60s Ed Roth clone shit we've been seeing on games lately.

Not sure what the OP has against horney old men. I aspire to be one some day.

Elvira / Scared Stiff is a great game. Bring on the remakes. Anyone that can contribute by offering variety to the pinball world the better.

Do horny old men really go after women their own age or older, or is that when they have no other choice.

#109 6 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

Would you buy another Playboy pin if it had all the same girls that were on the first one as they are now?

The 1978 Bally Playboy had topless granny in the pool and Bally managed to sell 18,250 of them.

I know a hot 46 year old and just getting better. If you want to know what they will look like check out the mom.

#111 6 years ago

I'm trying to stick with the one's that haven't gone thru mental-pause yet. And maybe a little younger...

#112 6 years ago

I've always thought Mila Kunis would make a nice Elvira replacement. She would need to have some augmentation done of course, or I guess in today's world, some CGI work

I suppose a "cartoon" Elvira, or updated version might do well, for both the pinball sales and Cassandra - she could restart her franchise and never lift a finger.

As to Elvira 3, if it's your thing, go for it! I can certainly appreciate her business model.

#113 6 years ago

scared stiff was the machine that got me into this crazy hobby. I say bring on the 3rd machine.

#114 6 years ago

Fireball was one of the machines that got me into this hobby, and I don't need another.

I guess you can call me grumpy for lacking enthusiasm on that one.

All that said, If we make it to the Halloween Haunt at Knotts this year, I'm going to go see her show and keep an open mind. I think it will be fun. I was into other things when the TV show was on.

No, you're good o-din.
I think Bally milked that one pretty good with these follow ups to the 1972 Bally Fireball:

1978 Bally Fireball home model
1981 Bally Fireball II
1985 Bally Fireball Classic

#116 6 years ago

Well OP. It is simple. The last two game Cassandra allowed her name to be put on are both pretty good games.

EATPM is one of the better Sysytem-11 games with hurry-ups, MB jackpots and locked ball stealing you would expect with a game of that era. It also have a multi-ball kick off with one of the best light-show / organ music known. Definitely the best for its time.

SS is a bit easy but chock full of fun innuendo. Six easy to understand modes with hidden gems in the spider back-box. Fun, funny and generally cool.

Then there is your collection. Mostly crap and leaving you jealous of people who actually can appreciate and own good games. Maybe it is just lack of availability in your area. But someone who posts that they own SF2, Barb Wire and Gold Wings is going to put down Elvira owners? Wow, justify that crap fest. Seriously. "I HAVE PASSED ON A FREE GOLD WINGS BECAUSE IT WAS A 2 HOUR DRIVE" (1 each way).

Anyway. You do seem to be in the minority but you can have your wrong opinion. Have a nice day.

Elvira..whats next, a pitch and bat machine?

And there's nothing wrong with Stern trying to capitalize on a franchise Williams put on the map. Those two always had each others back.

This whole thread was made to insult people for liking something. Wtf? Pinside doesn't have to be like this.

We all know how to find tits and a lot more. Elvira isn't really about sex. It's about campy horror, puns, that B movie vibe. There's no nudity. It's about suggestion and innuendo, wordplay. Elvira isn't a submissive fantasy, she's the host and in charge. It's not sex, it's sex appeal.

Now if you don't see the difference, you don't like horror camp, whatever, that's fine. Glad we like different things. That keeps a variety of pins being made.

EATPM is one of my all time favs. I see the playfield I restored in this thread lol.

Scared Stiff is one of best themes. As a game it gets old. I stopped playing after hitting the wizard mode twice in one game. Just lost the play appeal. Sold it. But if I had room to keep games I don't play I would have kept it lol.

If I don't like a game I don't insult everyone who does. Who does that?

#121 6 years ago

I had both fully restored really nice and was planning to get number 3. But as it will be STern I believ I would forget it as personally I don't like any of the stern machines after about LOTR BDK etc. Just did a trade on Eatpm but keeping my scared stiff.

Well the OP said “bring on the downvotes” and he’s getting them, 65 and counting so far. Come on people let’s see if we can make it triple digits for him and once we reach that goal we will go for a Pinside record!

#123 6 years ago
Quoted from Aurich:

This whole thread was made to insult people for liking something. Wtf? Pinside doesn't have to be like this.

It's the same way when somebody do like something. Without the conflict, pinside might wither and die.

#124 6 years ago

I'm interested to see how Stern will implement this theme. Don't think I would ever buy one for the house, but these we're always fun to play in the arcade.

#125 6 years ago

everyone likes different stuff, so what. how many star wars pins are there? another coming soon? the best thing that can be done is a wider variety of pinball themes. more appeal to a wider crowd. does everyone like band themed pins, or movie/tv themed pins? who cares dont like it then dont buy it. maybe more non-themed pins would help. what we really need is a pin themed on people who are hyper sensitive to stupid crap. boo hoo multiball

#126 6 years ago

If Stern can fix its QC problems and the code is pretty much complete, I'll most likely get one to go with my EATPM and SS.

It's all about camp, innuendo and fun where everyone is in on the joke.

To have the same design team for all three games? Wow - that should be fun to see. And Lyman doing the code is an awesome bonus.

Elvira? All I remember is Booberella

I'm interested in seeing the worm turn once the price is announced on par with b66.

ah c'mon, she's not that bad only 66 years old.

#130 6 years ago

It’s the best your going to get for an original theme pin by Stern with great humor, should be a hit if done right and no hold backs

#131 6 years ago
Quoted from Thrillhouse:

Yep same here and if it has the same pricing as BM66 did then I am definitely out. Price it normal and I am a for sure buyer, as long as it doesn’t suck that is.

Shoot balls into the spider hole, what could go wrong?

I'm buying Elvira 3 to go with my EATPM and SS and I don't care what anyone else thinks!

I knew you'd say that. ha ha.

Scared Stiff is a great pinball machine!! The left and right ramps are fun to shoot for .The crate is a great toy.Elvira's sexual innuendo is out of control funny!! This is great pin to trick out the G.I. and playfield with LED's. The lanes to the flipper in bright green gives a cool effect. Elvira grew up in my home town.Colorado Springs CO.Her parents owed a costume shop Petersons (Elvira's last name) Party Land.I remember seeing her in the store years ago.She is good looking.Scared Stiff is easy to play. But to master it ,well that will take some time .Great pinball to collect!!!!!!!

In a overlarge collection SS and ETPM both get higher play time than most . Hope the third game is as well done as its siblings .

EATPM is a terrible game. Just awful. It's one of my least favorite games of the era. It's not helped at all by the Bally flippers of the time, which are basically like a 30% penalty to awesomeness all on their own....I'd honestly rather buy a Cybernauts before EATPM.

Scared Stiff, on the other hand, is a classic, easy to understand rules that are obvious, but a few hard to achieve goals, and very tournament friendly if set up tough.

I can't say I have any desire at all for Elvira 3 though. Why do I care about a character that's been effectively 'dead' (re: completely irrelevant) for well over a decade, and that wasn't entertaining to me in the first place... they already MADE the perfect Elvira game. Anything even less subtle than Scared Stiff is going to be bordering on porn, anything more subtle misses the theme completely. There's just no way for them to make this game and have it not be trying to fight a two front war. Unless it's Scared Stiff Valut Edition and they're just adding some video clips and modern lighting and sound production values.

I'm glad I like Star Wars, because with Elvira 3 and (big) *if* GOTG is a Gomez game (WRRRRRYYYYYYYY), then I'm gonna have a good long while before Stern pops one out that I'll be really interested in.

Also Scared Stiff is hard to top when doing a third Elvira. It's not the best pin of all time IMO (sorry Ted), and probably not in the top 10

actually it's #4 ....should be #1...but give it time....

Uh, yeah, but the CHARACTER we're talking about is timeless. Gee, Superman would be in a wheelchair by now....

A pauly shore 'weasel' pin would be more interesting than another elvira pin.

Dont get me wrong though, Scared Stiff is a great pin. Enjoyed owning it for a while. Just have no interest in the theme.

Quoted from spfxted:

Actually, he wouldn't. He's basically immortal. DC had a storyline where it was 832 centuries in the future, and the bastard is not only still alive, but after fifteen thousand years of living DIRECTLY IN THE SUN, the guy is basically God for all intents and purposes.

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Kal-El_(DC_One_Million)

Ain't no way on earth SS will *ever* be considered the #1 pin of all time. It's just too shallow, which is basically the only thing wrong with the game.

#145 6 years ago

Actually, he wouldn't. He's basically immortal.

But he IS growing....he was a baby, a boy and a man....no Old Man Superman?....I guess he just stopped aging....

What are you talking about??? EATPM is Williams Sys11 through-and-through.

Apparently that's exactly what happens *shrug*....that's DC for you. They make no attempt to make sense of anything.

Quoted from dothedoo:

What are you talking about??? EATPM is Williams Sys11 through and through.

Okay, well, apparently it's bad enough that I just thought it was a Bally. It was already the same damn company at that point, so do you have an actual point? =Þ Does it really matter? I don't like the game. It plays weird, the flippers feel like crap on every one I've laid hands on (3 or 4 different ones at this point).

Want to change my mind? Bring a fully restored and rebuilt one to TPF and flag me down. I'll give a turd a 5th shot. I keep playing North Star for some stupid reason, and I despise that game.

#149 6 years ago

Elvira makes zero sense to me. But whatever, I don't give a shit either way about it. I'll stick with Baywatch to get my share of backglass cleavage. Or just check out my wife's in person.

And I'll just play Tales From the Crypt for my "campy horror" fix.

#150 6 years ago

FYI......if your wife/girlfriend DOESN'T like Elvira, then your wife/girlfriend is probably a total boring prude!!!

My wife is a big-time feminist.....hates strippers and porno, and the way "the patriarchy objectifies women" and all that............but she absolutely LOVES Scared Stiff, and wishes I would buy one TODAY. She's very excited about the new Elvira game.
She even thought Stern's Playboy was "really cute".
