Does anyone have a lead on a NIB Elvira? I have one on order but was told Jan - Feb before Stern makes more. Sites that have them listed don't really have them. Thanks!

#4772 3 years ago
Quoted from TTARider:

Same here.. bought mine on a wednesday night, it shipped the next morning and was in my home by friday!

I tried the link and it adds $533 tax. Any sites tax free?

#4779 3 years ago

I just ordered from Mike at Pinballs.com. Gave me 2.5% discount for cash but charges for shipping so it comes out about even. Thanks everyone! Now I have to figure out how to tell my wife I have this and Attack from Mars remake on order.

I've only had Elvira a few days now but WOW what a great machine! A must have for any collection. 'Especially like the gargoyles.

#5176 3 years ago

Is there any flipper strength adjustment? I can't seem to left flip the left ramp without it loosing speed and returning.

I've had EHOH for about a week now and my AFMr arrived yesterday. AFM is very, very good but if I could only have one game it would be Elvira - it's a must have. Very deep and entertaining...and funny!.

This pin is probably the best I've ever played. Stern knocked it out of the park. I don't mind paying a lot for a great interactive topper but at least Stern should make it worth the money. I just don't see it thus far.

Quoted from gonzo73:

Ok, you guys have had your Elvira's a few months, how are they holding up , build quality wise?
Stern pins always feel like rickety balsa to me.
I played Elvira at Banning in January at INDISC, and loved the 2 games I played.
This is the first stern, I've even contemplated buying.
But Stern's business practices disgust me.
Is it as great as it looks?
I love Nordman games.
Convince me I should give the Evil empire my money.
Message from the wavering Freeeek Kingdom.

The build quality is not as good as Chicago gaming but is good enough. Stern's have a lighter feel than JJP's as they are 100 pounds lighter. That said EHOH is so good it is my favorite and not by just a little bit. The programing and game design are outstanding. It's very funny too.

#5534 3 years ago

I played three 2 player games and got a trailer for each player every time.

I just added PSW10 sub and Pinnovator's sub junction. Worth the $120 and $35.

#5728 3 years ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Me too, sounds great. I did buy a klipsch on prime days last week, it was $70 more than the polks I use. But it definitely sounds better. Crazy on bksor!

I have a Yamaha sub sharing my GB and AS and I agree a more expensive sub is better. But the Polk is good enough
..not bad for the money

Quoted from cistearns:

The only thing I was looking for was a way to turn off the end of game trailer. Hopefully adjustments to that are coming soon.

I was thinking the same. Maybe you could hit both flippers to advance.

#5793 3 years ago
Quoted from Muymanwell:

hitting both flippers after the countdown cancels it, as well

Wow! Didn't know you had to wait for countdown. Thanks

#5820 3 years ago

Likewise, I saw games listed but were waiting lists. I DID find one in stock at Pinballs.com and bought it but if was a few weeks ago .

#5837 3 years ago

I would suggest anybody a rather crappy player like me start their games set on 4 or 5 balls per game just to see the amazing depth and different modes. Then dial it back to 3 balls.

I'm retired. I play for fun, never in competition.

#5894 3 years ago

You DID remove the foam and pull ties under the playfield?

Manster is actually not to bad. I was never an Elvira fan(not available in my areao but 'am trying to catch up. On Amazon Prime they have most of the movies. Besides the Elvira pin stuff try "13 Nights of Elvira" - "Cannibal Women in the Avacado Jungle of Death" and "Evil Bong" are decent. Anybody know what movie plays during "Wild women multiball"?

Game feature #156 lets you shorten the trailer clip or turn it off.

#6257 3 years ago

I just rewaxed my gargoyles as I noticed they weren't hitting the glass anymore. Machine is back like new!

#6334 3 years ago

It's a shame Stern did this. JJP kept the WOZECLE price at$6500 for the first 500 even though they lost money. Still, this game is worth it. At least they could throw in another toy and powder coat for the extra $500. Maybe call it the X edition.

#6343 3 years ago

I think the test balloon was the $1000 topper that sold out quickly. At least they didn't try to squeeze another $200 on top of that.

#6403 3 years ago

Swamp gator is about $10, from Amazon

now to find a life preserver for its mouth lol

I was thinking a bloody doll leg but I like your idea better.

#6409 3 years ago

For anyone wanting the alligator mod , I tried siliconing
the gator to the deadhead ramp but the glue didn't hold. I drilled a hole in his right foot and mounted to the right outlane with better results.

Quoted from RobbyIRL5:

I was just using that as an example of the ball path. I've been trying the back door and I only randomly get it going up the left orbit. I think a plunge that dies the ball at the back of the mansion should get it, no?
Now it appears I have a bigger issue. My shots through the mansion that should start a mode, just rip around back through and down the left orbit, and don't start the mode. Assuming a diverter issue. Diverter seems dead in the testing (no movement or sound of movement) - scratch this, I wasn't hitting the right button, diverter tests. Any hints as I dive into it?

I would imagine Stern would have an opto to trigger the mode. Your problem might be a bad or misaligned opto.

#6552 3 years ago

Also remember it takes 1 pass to start the first mode, two for the second, etc.

#6606 3 years ago

Just a warning if your gargoyles hit the glass, they will eventually break off the post. Best to add a limiter, a piece of tape around the shaft will work.

PXL_20210123_153147374 (resized).jpgPXL_20210123_153147374 (resized).jpg
#6609 3 years ago

There is a long shaft the gargoyles are mounted on. Find the end of the shaft under the plafield. Tape off 3 or so inches above the limiter screw at the very bottom of the shaft-I used duck tape. The tape stops the gargoyle shaft at the shaft guide.

#6610 3 years ago

Taped end vs factory

#6612 3 years ago

I loved them hitting the glass. They stopped doing it so I lubricated the shafts. Trouble is it will eventually wear out the gargoyle plastic where it is mounted on the shaft

#6691 3 years ago

Added life saver to croc.

Anybody notice how nasty the balls are? I got this game the same week as AFMr and the EHOH balls are dull and pitted. It's not a biggie as I have ordered new ones but I've never had another game do this so fast.

#6833 3 years ago

This is the brand I bought. You can get 30 for $28.90 at Amazon

#6911 3 years ago

If he's saying "Gappa...Gappa angry!" Then it's in there.

#6938 3 years ago

Gargoyle should not hit glass as it will eventually break off.
I tried making stops out of pull ties but they would not stay in position. A little duck tape about 3 inches from the bottom works fine. You can reglue gargoyle.

#6939 3 years ago

Also, your ball problem-make sure your pin is set at correct angle and especially level left to right. Otherwise you might have investigate further.

#6944 3 years ago

The gargoyles will break off. I like the sound as well as the next person. The paint will also wear off the head leaving a white head. I doubt gargoyles are designed to snap off.
