Quoted from Wildbill327:

Just recently I started to have a little trouble with Elvira. When ever I started a mode the ball would just come out of the house and it didn’t lock(hold) the ball. This was a bit frustrating because as she was talking and all the GI lighting was dimmed the ball was hard to see and cause unwanted drains. So I took a look at what keeps the ball locked(A post that’s always down) and it was actually binding on the edge which wouldn’t allow it to go back to the down position. I loosened up two screws and realigned the post and now it’s working as it should. Hope this helps.

I am having the same issue. I am not clear on which two screws that you loosened to realign the post. Is it accessible without taking anything apart? Your information is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Update: Figured it out and yes, that did the trick. Thanks

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

Mine occasionally has this problem as well. I had checked it and (thought) I had fixed. I do remember a post a few pages ago about it. If I'm not mistaken, the post is accesible behind the back wall of the playfield. You don't need to remove anything to get to it, just pull out the PF

When I loosened the two screws, the mech sort of "popped" itself into place. Now it works like a charm! Thank you!

I few weeks ago I purchased a new LE(#41). Up until this last week, minus a couple of small tweaks and the new skill shot guide which is on it's way, everything had been running great. The last dozen plays or so, the ball will occasionally get lost up the house ramp. The machine nor I can find it anywhere throughout the checks and my visual inspection...until I lift the playfield, at which time the ball falls down into the cabinet. Does anyone have any recommendations on this? Does this somehow have to do with the skill shot guide? Or maybe I will see something outta sorts when I pull out the house to install the new skill shot guide? One of the tweaks that I had to make was to slightly move the ball lock peg in back of the back board to line up with the hole in order to hold the ball during house haunts. However, this doesn't appear to have anything to do with the lost ball issue.

Found my lost ball. I am occasionally getting a ball stuck under the left ramp. Apparently, when the back of the house guide is in lowered position, the ball goes up the house ramp, hits the guide, and once in a while "jumps" in to the corner. It gets lodged between the left ramp and plastic as shown in the attached photo. The only way to get it out is to slightly lift the playfield so that it will drop through the back corner to the lower cabinet. I had the house apart to install new skill shot guides and still could not figure out what was making this happen. I remember a similar situation with Iron Maiden Premium to the right of Sarcophagus Lock but could see how it happened and I installed a plastic spacer. On Elvira, I can't really tell how the ball hits this mark. To add to the mystery, the ball has occasionally made it to the garage lock from the house ramp. I did notice wear on the lower side of the plastic cover piece in back of the house. With under 200 plays, the spiderweb is already worn off. The ball must be hitting it pretty hard as it flies up the ramp... however, I can't find any relation to this causing the ball to make it to the corner or the garage. Anyone else have similar issue? Does it just need a little tweak?

Quoted from jandrea95:

Trent dropped this off the other day, been busy being amazed. Im still somewhat early into this pinball scene (1 year). What was going to be a single pin collection of Metallica, is now a 3 pin collection, and a virtual pin. That said ive been to many amazing barcades over the past year, and Elvira is (by far) my favorite pin ive ever played. Incredible work.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Same thing happened to me... and it also started a year ago with Metallica as my one and only pin, then Iron Maiden Prem somehow showed up, and as of just recently, Elvira LE. At first, all the "tweaking" and NIB repairs were a little frustrating but I later came to realize that they just make me appreciate the games that much more. It turns out that tinkering, upgrading, and repairing is half the fun... and of course, there's the anticipation of what the next release will look like and if I can sell it to my wife as another "must have".

Has anyone else had this problem and or figured out a fix? I removed the house for an opto issue and now after putting everything back together, the above is happening more frequently. When the house is closed and I shoot up the ramp, I can see the ball trying to get in to the corner. I am thinking one of two things that may fix this. Either I place some sort of mod that would block the ball from getting below the ramp or I somehow change the closed house diverter so that it directs the ball slightly down to the back guide rather than straight horizontal. It seems that this should be an easy fix but yet it is a head scratcher for me. One suggestion given was to add a washer under the ramp to give more clearance for the ball to pass under the ramp. This might help the ball from getting stuck, however, I would prefer that the ball not be accessing this area in the first place. There is already a little wear on the plastic under the ramp.

I got this cool little set off of amazon. The item name is "Lemax Miniature Spooky Town Gargoyle Fence (Set of 5). I put them around the edges of the game and it really gives a sense of being on Elvira's property. Especially when the ball goes down an outlane on the outside of the fence. The double columned center piece I made a little sheet metal piece and glued it on the fence so I could mount it on the upper lane center guide. Its kind of hard to see in the photo behind the cruiser but it looks nice from a players perspective. This set adds a lot of gothic flare for $20. Played about 6 games of .98 last night and its another game changing code injection. I love these one hundred decimal point updates that are so feature rich.
This is the only game Ive owned that I will set there and play 6 games in a row. Thanks again Lyman! You're numero .01!

Nice. Add this little guy for under a buck.

The house ramp motor is pulling the ramp down too far against the playfield. As a result, the right corner has already dug into the Mylar after 80 plays and the left corner slightly twists up from the playfield as the right arm pulls down. In up position, everything looks straight. The motor continues to run a second or two after the ramp is down all the way and again before it starts to go up. I have searched the manual and this forum for a fix but have not found one. Does anyone know how to adjust this?

I'd at put at least a layer or 2 of mylar on before you played much more. Not sure how to fix your issue tho.

Thank you. Yeah, I now have a couple of layers down. When I went through the manual, I was hoping to find an adjustment like the Godzilla building.

Quoted from EaglePin:

The house motor diagram is on Page 53. The motor triggers two micro switches. One switch signals the machine that the ramp is up and one signals that the ramp has arrived at down. I'm wondering if it would help to adjust the leaf on the micro switch that indicates the down position so that the button on the switch gets pushed a bit sooner. That might then stop the motor sooner, which would keep the ramp from closing too hard. Might be worth a try to adjust the leaf.
Here are pictures from mine showing the position of the motor in the up and down positions. Yellow circles show the micro switches. Hope this helps.[quoted image][quoted image]

Thank you. The motor/switch positions look the same on our machines. Like others that I have seen on this forum, our down position switches stop just before the notch. I don't think the switches are the issue because the motor still needs to make a full rotation after the stopping points. On my machine, after the motor has already stopped in the down position, it tries to pull the ramp down a little bit more before going back up. Could the spring simply be too tight?
