Has anyone tried putting Stern's Munsters armor on an Elvira Premium? I'm wondering how they'd look as is or powder coated with a red or purple metal flake. I'm looking for ways to gussy up Elvira without going the 40th Anniversary route. I'm assuming no one has the LE/SE dripping blood rails for sale.

Quoted from HemiOrange09:

A few guys have asked me about powder coating parts on their Elvira 40th machine.. One shipped me his hinge to make sure it will match... No problem I can do that. Here's a few pictures of his coin door, speaker panel and shooter rod housings.

Great job, Steve! Much better quality than what I got from Stern. And I figure I paid them at least $5,000 for the side rails and legs on my 40th Anniversary Edition machine.

I may have grabbed the last one! Thanks!

Congrats to new Elvira HoH owner, Rebecca Hinsdale!

Some topper questions:

TOPPER SCREAM LOCKOUT TIMER: 180

TOPPER GAME SCREAM: 20%

TOPPER ATTRACT MODE SCREAM: 20%

What, exactly, do each of these settings do?

Does the topper ever go off on its own during attract mode? I've only seen it when pressing one of the flipper buttons.

Can the up lights be turned off during attract mode?

Does anyone know where I can find replacement Backpanel Playfield GI LEDs? Stern part number 112-5034-08F. 'F' as in Frosted? I've found them in blinding clear white, but not with frosted/warm white domes as used in Elvira. These bayonet base LEDs just pop in/out, correct?

My Elvira 40th already had a couple of dimples right out of the box. I’m assuming someone at Stern was attempting to dial in the VUK.

Quoted from explosiveegg:

Their [Stern’s] settings UI is awful. A virtual dmd used that displays one adjustment at a time without any real description of the change in a list of over 200 adjustments.
It's garbage and painful to look up settings like that.

Agreed. But. Careful. They get around to updating the UI they’ll be wanting to add another $2,000 onto MSRP.

I was watching Jack Danger’s reveal for AP’s Hot Wheels the other day. Nice looking AI. Some cute game-specific touches, too.

Quoted from Jkush18:

Purple blood drip set from back alley

Back Alley's purple blood drip set looks a lot more like what Stern used on their 40th Anniversary brochure, but didn’t actually deliver to customers, instead going with a darker purple and a lot less sparkle.

Quoted from Jkush18:

40th anniversary armor package

As a 40th Anniversary owner who happens to be one of the victims of "Glittergate," I'm going to be wanting to re-do my armor at some point, and I haven't decided if I want to match what I've already got, or go with something like what Back Alley did.

As if I don't already have enough paint samples from Prismatic, it looks like I'm going to need to corner the market on 'purple' and various 'rockstar' and 'supernova' metal flake samples.

Quoted from UnholySpectacle:

What was the original price? These are showing as $140 for me with no discount listed.

My guess is that “now on sale” was/is meant to mean “now available.”

Quoted from docquest:

Anyone see what the apron looks like, i.e. which side is IC on and and is the IC the smaller style cutout hole like Bond Nd Godzilla or the big triangle hole used on earlier games?

Elvira 40th owner here. Our games came with the QR camera as an afterthought add-on to the left side triangle hole. I’d like to see them do an Insider Connected accessory apron like they did for Batman 66. I’d be an instant buyer.

Quoted from Geeterman1:

Show us your apron!

Quoted from Geeterman1:

Insider is on the right side.
[quoted image]

Ugh. Afterthought version. It looks like I’m back to coming up with a B66/GZ solution of my own for my Elvira 40th.

Quoted from Rob_G:

Greg Freres is still there at Stern.

Greg, please, can we get a full-apron decal for Elvira?

#13179 1 year ago

@docquest, are the aprons, themselves, physically different for GZ, B66 Insider Kit, Rush, FF, or is the full-apron decal just covering up the triangle hole(s)? Yes, I'm lazy, and have yet to investigate with my own machines. My Elvira 40th and the new Premium apron both look like sh*t compared to the games with the full decals. I definitely need to come up with something...

Is there a quick way to jump to post # 6066 in this thread other than paging ahead 5 pages at a time?

Quoted from beltking:

My Elvira 40th was supposed to have exclusive 199 made shooter rod.

40th owner as well. I can’t say that I’m at all happy seeing the dagger shooter rod included with the Blood Red Kiss version at $7K less than I paid, but looking back at Stern’s flyer for the 40th Anniversary model, the shooter rod is actually the only feature listed that does NOT use the word “exclusive,” instead it merely says “custom.”

Quoted from bossk4hire:

I may be in the minority but I'm not a fan of the black, white and red. Give me all the colors!

Agreed 100%.

Quoted from beltking:

The dagger on my 40th I personally don’t like and have it new in coinbox. Using clown. It’s plastic and feels like it will break in time. Hard on the hand.

Ha. Same here!

#15976 6 months ago
Quoted from Good-Times:

This yellow warning sticker has to go!
[quoted image]

That’s one continuous decal on the Blood Red Kiss edition, redesigned for Insider Connected, something we 40th Anniversary owners didn’t get for our extra $7K.

Quoted from beltking:

I figured they wouldn’t do anything but I received both sides and lockdown bar. Crazy

Did they turn out better? I saw where someone got equally bad replacements in the Elvira 40th thread. Myself, no sign of anything yet, but I reached out to my distributor, and they tell me I’m supposed to be on the list for new armor. They are following up with Stern.

Quoted from Chopplebrains:

Anyone know where I can pick up that dripping blood side armor for my premium? Or is this more unobtainium armor?

I’m expecting a replacement set from Stern any day now to resolve the “Glittergate” problem with my Elvira 40th. Assuming the new set checks out, and that it is indeed a set, I’m supposed to be getting two side rails and a lockdown bar, I’ll be making the old set available.
