Hey guys got mine Wednesday. #79. Ignore that other trash thread please. Its about fucking sad what this site has come to, anyhow.

Let me talk about this game. What i love and why i think its gonna be better than Scared stiff and Batman 66.

Layout is great its very much like medieval madness but you got a differnt bash toy and the house is killer guys. Issues though is the left ramp will airball and drain like crazy. Me and a buddy made an air guard but all.means you can make your own. All the shots are great, smooth and the variety of exits is a blast

Code super good humor and i see what their doing and current code is .86 alot of content thete. Guys its lyman. Oh the hand of fate wheel on the screen is a trubute to scared stiff and is funner than i thought. Im on the beta code lyman gave me and it added more and fixed content from the stream including the call outs and more elvira clips. Oh shaker isnt programmed.

The playfield has the art away from.the posts on the whole game so hopefully they got that chipping issue settled.

Now I'm not saying you gotta have them but i put pinatadiums in and i changed alot of the GI to purple. Main reason is the sky behind the house are white and it looked silly and not spooky. I wanted that effect but i understand they did it to have vision.

Im excited for the mods and guys this game is gonna be special. I was an early buyer for Batman 66 and lyman did something special. Im expectig that

Quoted from Mad_Dog_Coin_Op:

The game looks great. Can you please elaborate on the comment you made about the shaker? From the sound of it the shaker isn't doing anything at the moment.

Yes it doesnt react in the code

#23 4 years ago
Quoted from Mad_Dog_Coin_Op:

That's surprising. Did Stern tell you that? I would think the shaker would be doing something even in the early stages of the code. Maybe it is a setting you over looked?

It was the same on batman 66. Light shows and shakers are like the last thing lyman codes. I agree on the premium being the best deal. I personally am Vain and like LE action lol

#25 4 years ago

Damn this game plays pretty fast

#69 4 years ago

Are your guys shaker working?

#101 4 years ago

Anyone got a custom rule card? Love to get it signed and replace the yellow junk

Quoted from BigT:

Nodes 1 8 9 are due to the coin door being open. Your nodes are fine.
As far as the crypt that is new.

Close the coin door and reboot. Its there new interlock

#211 4 years ago
Quoted from Diospinball:

I think this game has flow. But, I also think it is brutal and things can quickly goes sideways for you. You fail to make it up that ramp to the house... Its going to be hard to avoid a sdtm. Mode starts into the pops. Gotta be ready to respond, because it can go straight into the outlane.
Ball goes into the crypt. Keep an eye out on the VUK because if it misses(which mine does about half the time) its a dangerous shot. Had one go into the left outlane directly.
And the slings in this game. They are super sensitive and really like to throw the ball into the outlane. I know that is the purpose of slings. But, with my Maiden its a bit easier to nudge and get control. Same thing with my Monster Bash. But, right now it seems like one or two slings is all it needs to go into outlanes. So I don't have much time to get control.
So while I think all the shots are indeed easy to hit. Which is amazing as there are so many shots on this pin, but it doesn't feel cramped. The ramps are easy to hit and easy to combo and the orbits are as well. So while the shots may be easy. I think the true difficulty(at least for me) is to keep control of the ball. And this game does not reward you for mode starts.
Hell even Iron Maidens shooting the ball back to you is more safe on average than those pops.

Adjust the switches on your slings

Quoted from PoppyCock:

I got to spend some time on elvira yesterday. Wow, feel bad for anyone who spent the money on this snooze fest. One munsters was enough and now this, ugh!

Lol what a tool

#267 4 years ago

I think the issue is its an owners thread. Post was purely to piss people off. You see that, also if hes not an owner than why does he need to revisit this thread?

#291 4 years ago
Quoted from Lermods:

Played a couple of premiums at expo. Liked it. There were two issues and wondering if it’s common. The first was balls flying off the left ramp into the outlanes and drain, I think because it’s hitting the crate. The second was rejects to the ball lock in the house (left side).

I created an airball deflector and ramp cover
Its in the shop

#306 4 years ago
Quoted from T7:

That's why you watch the clips the first time, so you understand what to do. After that you skip them if you don't like to wait. If you practice this technique you will master it in time, and it will improve your enjoyment of many games. It's really not that difficult

Some people are old school and dont want technology. They just want raw pinball fun. I personally after owning batman feel more immersed in the atmosphere. Besides i need a break gives me a minute to take a drink from my beer while the video plays

#331 4 years ago
Quoted from Diospinball:

You could try to shatz the inlane and then nudge it to go out if you get a really smooth hit on it... Just saying. I like the hand of fate feature. But, it only gets triggered one way. And to complete it you'd need a whole bunch of extra balls and all your shots to drain from there. This is something that most people probably won't ever achieve and its something that you'd need to work for most likely.
Which is fine. I do like the ball save option on the hand of fate. But, you only get it one time. So use wisely.

The hand of fate is one of my favorite features. Its awesome in multiball and a huge rush to hit the extender. Has anyone completed the entire wheel yet?

Quoted from jfh:

Do you have the ability to photoshop a pic to see what it might look like on the game? I’m interested in doing some of the pieces but don’t want it to look overwhelming (I think the coin door could be too much)

Sorry no. My personal opinion on my personal game I did the coin door and shooter but im gonna leave the panel black

#444 4 years ago

Yeah i gotta install everything still. I rarely get to work on my own pinballs cause im always filling orders but ill get one to you guys

Quoted from dnaman:

Very cool, so much potential! Are you planning to use a resin based 3D printer?
I'm a resin type guy (mold/casting) and can see the future with resin based 3D printing but I'm not very good a 3D modeling.
The toys and theme of this pin just makes me want to try to hand sculpt some of these things that are in the game though.

Actually cnc out of wood and then make a cast and mold

My Elvira SE arrived today. I love it[quoted image]

Wish they broadcasted the foil cabinet better cause it seems like the prime reason to own the SE

I would be in on thr topper

#771 4 years ago
Quoted from GamerRick:

The house is sounding more fragile than I expected. These are plastic pieces that are breaking though not metal is that right? Someone will have to create acrylic protectors for that side of the house. Anyone working on anything?

Ive only heard of one instance of this happening so i wouldn't consider it an epidemic but if demand arises i can work on something with my partner

#782 4 years ago

I can make a protector but i really dont wanna tear my house apart. Anyone mind.sending me their spare plastic and ill send them a protector back with it in return?

#891 4 years ago

For real where the mods

#899 4 years ago
Quoted from Lermods:

These premiums are taking a very long time to get out. Mine was supposed to ship two weeks ago, then a week ago and I just was told again on Wednesday it actually shipped. I’m really hoping it gets delivered this week. We’ve got mods ready to go, but I need the game for fit, connections and pics. I know our lighted bat, ghost and spider mods are good as they run off the GI. But our tombstone mods need to be tested for fit. Our backbox mod is ready too, but I don’t have pictures. I really want to have the game to be able to show the mods in the game before opening the gates. Thanks to those who have contacted us and are being patient, shouldn’t be too much longer...I hope.

Yeah my understanding the star wars jumped the line ahead of them

Added some trees into my Elvira, I think it really adds to the creepiness.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Where did you get the trees?

#1100 4 years ago
Quoted from Wakky:

Incorrect . They are not suppose to hit the glass that hard causing damage . Where is it noted they are supposed to hit the glass ?

They are supposed to hit the glass. Scared stiff is the same way. You can add rubber rings on the bottom or other limiting actions to stop it. Raise the play field and take a look at the mech. I highly doubt the gargoyles can damage the glass.

Not sure if it’s true but I’ve heard from some people in the business. The group that owns elviras rights will sue at any given moment for any little thing.

#1319 4 years ago
Quoted from Lermods:

We have been working on a sign mod for the crypt. It's almost ready. Color in one of the pics is pinkish, it's just a test fit, it will match better as shown in other pics. Should be ready in a few days. Will look much better than the stock plastic. It will adhere to the plastic with backing tape so need to remove the plastic and mess with the rivets.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Excellent job as usual

#1397 4 years ago

For real though there needs to be a short ball safe after the crypt kicker. Even with power adjusts its screws you hard

1 week later
#1524 4 years ago

Why doesn’t Lyman just do the right thing and add a super short ball save for kick outs from the VUK and make it a feature you can turn on and off. Pretty basic really

#1802 4 years ago

God damn it I could go for a code update. Been a minute

#1901 4 years ago
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:

Holy mother of... just installed and got to Gappa for the first time. The mode itself is a blast, so much fun going through all the levels... better than most wizard modes I’ve ever made it to and it’s not even the wizard mode!
It’s totally brilliant that you play through until you drain and then one of several completely different OTHER modes starts depending on how far you progress. Made it to stage 4 I think?
Everything feels way more polished... lights, choreography... felt great to go for deadheads knowing the ball would be saved if it shot into the left outlane.
Can somebody with a shaker chime in and let us know if it’s worth having now?
Great job Lyman, this is an absolutely wonderful update with some killer unexpected content!

I feel dumb but I still don’t understand what actually gets you to gappa angry. How do you start it

#1923 4 years ago

Call outs need to return for sure. I hear one of the dead heads saying fuck

#1997 4 years ago
Quoted from FtrMech:

Yeah, not trying to be a prude but I am thinking there should be a way to turn that off...Scared Stiff had an adult mode but there wasn't any cussing, just adult innuendo which is quite humorous. My 3 year old granddaughter likes to play my machines and don't think she needs to hear that...I would imagine there are other owners in a similar situation.

It’ll come I’m sure Lyman just does a lot of utility and quality of life stuff when the actual game rules are done. It’s a pretty rare call out, jar head does it too

#2012 4 years ago

Powdercoated my coin door to match. Mind the shooter it’s a shade too light. I had to use a test piece as a baseline up get my mix right. Hit me up if you’d like it done. I only have one spare coin door so it’s one at a time or send me yours

Quoted from javagrind888:

Got to play it last night with a buddy, more movie clips and call outs! More light show. So nice. Still having too many rejections out of the front door.

Move your outlanes to the tightest setting and give your ball save a few more seconds. It’s ok to play for fun if you don’t actively play in tournaments etc no reason to not relax and enjoy pinball. Even if you do, very few times do home games play like location so have fun

Quoted from bloodydrake:

So I got table home friday night, we got everything setup and yesterday have found one issue with the gargoil switches out front the crypt.
basically the switches aren't activating (tested led's worked fine) if i go into switch test mode and i manually move them it will trigger by pulling the switch forward,,but balls or fingers pushing the metal kinetic switch that launches gargoils up seems to be to far out to make proper contact.
I recorded a video
Does anyone have any advice how to approach this kind of adjustment?

Your switches are too tight they are made all the time. They need to be open and the switch closed by contact. Either do it under the playfield or take a screw driver and gently push on the back contact of the leaf switch a few times till your desired gap for sensitivity

I’ll take some better pictures but I decided to redo the armor on my Elvira LE to the SLE finish. I put a little extra flair on mine but in person it’s like the perfect shade. I’ll take it out in the sun tomorrow

Might add a little red to my lower playfield GI but my friend made these. Should really pop with the LE and other models. Goes well with the playfield art. I think he plans to make these on a larger scale. He also cut out around the GI as seen on the giant leeches so you still have the benefit of the art

Quoted from Mudflaps:

Yes indeed. I may wind up switching the t-molding color to purple as well as the speaker molding color.
I have a few purple accent LEDs on the playfield, and the apron/backglass have touches of purple.
I’ll upload pictures so everyone can make fun of me.

This is a custom mix I do to match the Elvira green. So there’s this option. My experience with illusion purple is it will look good enough. It’s a very very dark color so for the most part short of being in direct sunlight it’ll be close to a black. This games tricky cause the interior doesn’t really reflect exterior ya know. I was honestly surprised how good the green looks

Thanks Robert. That looks similar to the GB you did for me.
I have BKSOR in black iced cherry next to Elvira which looks very dark expect under certain lights. If I can do the same thing with purple, I’ll be happy.

It’ll be close to a black cherry but Almost a raisine color. It won’t be loud so you should be good it’s a pretty solid tone

Quoted from zaki:

Anyone have elvira and Batman 66? If so, which one is deeper?

I have both, pretty different but the strategy behind minor villains and their perks is almost impossible to outmatch. Imagine Elvira as Batman 66 level code but shoots better than batman

Quoted from Jaybird815:

Are there still any Elviras in stock anywhere? I’m hoping to be picking one up soon

Hey guys I’ve been meaning to post this on here but if you can get ahold of a tri color LED you can do this mod. It requires some soldering and a clear flasher dome. I always hated that the spinner blocked that insert so I’d be unaware I needed that shot so I replaced the flasher, wired it into the board and boom. I cleaned that solder up it was a I needed more hands kinda situation. I repurposed the old flasher to light up my mod. You can unwire it or repurpose it

I was lazy on the pictures but my topper came. Over priced yes but it’s pretty cool and I couldn’t not have it sadly. Sorry I’m part of the problem I’ll totally admit it lol
