Quoted from JohnnyCage:

Here's some pictures on what I've done with my EHOH for modesty. I used Oracal removable adhesive vinyl. It's not perfect but it keeps my wife happy. I also replaced the backbox side art with custom side art.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Nice job, I’m going to have to do the same (minus the side art)

Does anyone have a proper fix for the house rejecting front door shots? I’ve searched, but I can only find mentions of adding foam or rubber to slow the shots.

Quoted from Allibaster:

I added two layers of Velcro on the back subway behind the house where the ball enters. Have had zero rejects since.

Picture?

I'm struggling with the house rejecting shots from the front door. Instead of going through the house into the backboard and being held during the mode start animation, mine just rebounds off the "subway" and back out the front of the house. The switches are working, because the modes start just fine. I've tried a few layers of velcro (as suggested in this thread) to dampen the ball, but there isn't much improvement. Any other ideas or fixes?

Quoted from Rob_G:

Did you lower the flipper power in settings?
Rob

Yes I’m at 210 right now. I can keep trying lower I guess.

I recorded the shot in slow mo, and it looks like the ball makes it successfully into the subway and turns right behind the backboard, but as soon as is disappears from sight, it rebounds back up and dribbles onto the PF.

Edit: I pulled out the down post assembly and the backboard subway feeds no problem (no rejected balls). I am concluding the ball is rebounding off the post and dribbling back out the house.

Edit 2: Based on the above, I added Velcro (soft side) closer to the down post (but not covering the opto) to take out side of the speed. So far it’s 10/10 no rejects!

Thanks for sharing. I have the same problem and will try your fix.

Please do and report back

About 120 games in, I finally got to Gappa Angry. Of course, I drained before I could lock a single ball. My machine is almost dialed in, the last thing I need to mess with the crypt vuk. Even with the anemic shot out the vuk, it’s my most enjoyable game right now (ousting Foo F).

#15519 8 months ago

Does anyone have a spare Drexel ball bit for the vuk fix? I don’t feel like buying a 20 pack. Pm me please

Quoted from JayLar:

For me that was the fix that finally fixed my VUK after trying all the other fixes. It took a lot of time and effort to grind down but I'm really pleased with the result.

I’ve aligned mine countless times (including moving the subway and redrilling), and I am still at about 60% target hit rate.

Quoted from Mageek:

Trust us the concave thing does nothing. Did you try putting a spacer under the bottom of the plunger to raise it up 1/4 " or so?that is the best fix I've seen after aligning it.

Wow I just threw a 1/2” rubber around the bottom of that bracket (the plunger ballast weight now rests on the rubber ring, not the nub), and it’s firing great! Any idea about a more permanent spacer?

Quoted from yzfguy:

I'm getting a little aggravated at the inconsistent vuk ejects. I read the old post about actually moving the assembly and drilling new holes under the playfield ( which I can't imagine doing) but that fix is 3 years old. I'm guessing they didn't change anything to improve this on the new run??
I have tried the rubber over the coil stop trick, moving the scoop as much as possible with the existing screw holes, and bending the outkick guide slightly.... It is all over the place, usually lower than the crate targets, once in a while high enough to hit one. Any new ideas appreciated
I still loving this game... Shaker motor and upgraded speakers/speaker light rings arrive tomorrow

I had lots of trouble with my 2023 run. The kicker assembly does not need to be moved on this run, but the subway does. Centering the subway to the playfield hole brought my 2023 run machine from 10% to 60%. Then some combo if slightly bending the mech coil mount, and rubber around the coil stop brought it to 99%.

Quoted from yzfguy:

Did you happen to take any pics? I can't picture how cutting a little off the plunger would help.

yzfguy Careful, you are missing a step. First try raising the resting position of the plunger. I did this by wrapping a rubber around the coil stop portion of the bracket. This fixed my issues. If you raise the resting point too much, the ball won’t active the switch, and then MAYBE consider trimming the plunger.

In my opinion, the first step is aligning (or checking alignment of) the subway, then checking the alignment of the plunger within the hole, and then raising the resting position of the plunger.

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

At the very least, none of that was coded in the first several big releases of the game. Lyman had a history of adding cool ideas he thought of later - so kind of impossible to know whether or not it was planned from the beginning, but for those of us who had the game for quite a while, the VUK was never dialed in to hit those targets consistently.

That isn’t exactly what we’re talking about here. With the machines from this year’s run, a large portion of them the ball barely even ejects out, or barley leaves the mech and dribbles down to the drain.

#15632 7 months ago

Speaking of vuk, after the ball flings off the targets, they head right for the slings. Are you guys nudging before the ball hits the slings or during the slings?

Is there a proper way to use/play "drive me crazy" and "un-happy hour"? The scoring doesn't seem significant so I usually just ignore them when they are active.

I just completed my kicker/skar/amp upgrade and it’s sounding awesome. Does anyone of their eq dialed in to save me some efforts?
