Quoted from Whysnow:similar issue/ symptom here.
game is a mess. At this point I truly believe that the new crappy optos are the culprit (they use a ton in this game).
Power distribution seems to be different in game vs in test mode so it make it completely impossible to diagnose.
Quoted from frg:To clarify… the issue started first when I wanted to start Gappa Angry afew day ago. I did not Play any game later. Today I started the first game ever since.
So this is not a Gappa Angry issue but an issue to recognize the house shot at all.
The opto worke in the test… in the game game also, since I get 30 Points when the opto is operated (with ball or any other "tool"), but I don not get "the shoot" e.g. start house mode.
What else is needed other than the house ramp opto? If nothing else than it is not a switch/opto problem...
This is what I had to do to get our game working properly. You are having software issues the same as we did.
1. email or call Stern. If they have been no help go to step 2.
2. Flash a new (and formatted) SDHC card with current code 0.88 and put it in the game. (do not use the Stern one that came in the game, ours was faulty) https://sternpinball.com/support/sd-cards/ Make sure your game is turned off before changing the SD card. This should fix your issues.
3. Check the mounting screws are tight on the garage ball lock and the opto under the Haunted house, both of ours were loose, sometimes they worked sometimes they did not. Make sure the optos are aligned properly and use a ball to test.
